First one I ever played was my cousins silver but the first one I owned was Leaf Green when I was 6. Now I've played at least 1 game from every gen.
That's good to know. Though I was aggravated when I ended up having to use my last max revive when facing Lance's second team. The only reason I got through that was because I was fast enough and he missed enough that I was able to keep his team asleep, and my Butterfree has Flash and I used it so much on his Dragonite that it couldn't hit a broad side of a barn. Then my Dragonite was able to take the rest of the Dragon types with Outrage in one hit each.El Poncho said:If you manage your potions and revives correctly you could do it right now. I managed to beat him when only 2 of my pokémon were above sixty and the rest between 50-57Sonic Doctor said:What was wrong with Gold? Was it too big or something? I personally like the Gold and Silver and their remake counterparts the most because there is so much to do compared to the other games.Wondermint13 said:I started with Blue and adored my Squirtle! Gold was a headf*ck but I managed.
I finally beat the second go-round with the Elite Four in Heart Gold with my team that consists of:
Typhlosion
Golduck
Butterfree
Exeggutor
Noctowl
Dragonite
They are around levels 65 and 66 at the moment, I need to do some level grinding to get them up to the needed level for the final battle with Red.

That is awesome. Ever since Gold and Silver, the ones on the cover are the Legendaries. So, if what you said was actually the case, people would end up having to start out with the cover Legendary of the version they have.NitoSpeak said:I got Pokemon Blue, and ended up using Blastoise because I thought that if you had Blue version you HAD to use the water type...
my first pokemon game was the first three, Red and Blue; HOWEVER, i got the special edition gameboy color with the yellow game, it was a christmas present from my grandma back when me and her were speaking. then years later i got pokemon crystal. I moved on and i dont care for pokemon anymore so... yeah...PureAussieGamer said:My very first pokemon game was pokemon yellow version. I have no clue how i got it all i remember was my older brother passing me the huge gameboy and me loving the game straight away. I think played Red version and got all 151 pokemon because my friend had blue version.
I went to silver and crystal and then i went to sapphire and sadly thats where i stopped.
