I used to be able to play the theme music from Jurassic Park on the keyboard/piano. Wierd, I know, but actually quite lovely music.

Mine is definitely She Wolf by Megadeth [http://www.blogtv.com/Shows/14640/date/ZeXEb2_rY27GYX] I was so proud of it because it was the first song I could play in its entirety where I got my guitar to sound exactly like the one in the master recording, and also I could play the solo. It's one of my favourite songs to play still, and I often sing along while I play it and really get into it.

The first song I could play the whole way through on guitar and sing the words to at the same time is probably Everlong.
Dude, me too! Next thing I learned after Pink Floyd! I still play that song, it's beautiful and very satisfying to play.
Oh, really? That's cool. And you're a Pink Floyd fan, too, huh? What song by them did you learn to play?
The beginning of Wish You Were Here, first solo I ever learned too. From there it was all down hill, started learning stuff like The Dead Boys and The Misfits. Very easy stuff, but I like taking the progressions and finding new ways of playing them, rather than learning more complicated songs by rote. I'm trying to think of what my first good bass line would have been, maybe "Give It Away" by the Chili Peppers. Not so much challenge in learning the notes as it was about nailing the style, but I learned bass first which is why I got into those punk songs I guess.

Hey, new idea everyone: if you can, post a video of you playing a song you know. I don't know if I can tho, I'll have to borrow a webcam or rig something up.

Hot cross buns. On the recorder. *****.
Wow, that's going back a looong way.

Do kids still do that in school these days?
Brother still does that, I can't believe they force you to pay for a piece o' shit recorder that they now you'll break the minute you have a chance to.

My first one, excluding my childhood, was on an acoustic guitar, it was Chop Suey and I have to say I've never stopped playing it when people aren't around.
