My first song that I actually learned back to back was something that I had written myself.

Me and my two mates really just bought guitars/bassguitars, and went into a room, with another friend who had been playing drums for like five years already. After we had established that none of us knew any full songs, and everyone had just learned some riffs and licks from here and there. So then we just cooked up an extremely simple song with the little skill and knowledge we had.

My first real song, was either Children of The Grave, NIB, or Behind The Wall of Sleep, all by Black Sabbath. We played those three songs in a kind of medley, at the schools "Summer Rock" event thing. It served as our final test to the music class. Our music teacher was a bit of a badass.

"She Has a Girlfriend Now" by Reel Big Fish. When I finally nailed the solo, I was in heaven.

Also, I still do a pretty mean rendition of "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid. Played the opening on a kickoff at a high school football game once. I think it's the first time in history anyone in the band has ever gotten legit applause at a game.

This is all on trombone by the way...

Well, I never learned a whole song if I weren't gonna play it live, so the first one with all the notes 100% would be Damaged by John 5.

I can play Beaming Sunlight on piano. It's a soundtrack from Full Metal Alchemist, that I perfected for a music assessment.

The first song I could play the whole way through on guitar and sing the words to at the same time is probably Everlong.
Dude, me too! Next thing I learned after Pink Floyd! I still play that song, it's beautiful and very satisfying to play.
Oh, really? That's cool. And you're a Pink Floyd fan, too, huh? What song by them did you learn to play?

Handlebars by Flobots on the violin. Technically, it was supposed to be done on viola, but they are an inferior instrument. Either that or Irish Party in Third Class from The Titanic, because fiddle music is always fun.
