Final Fantasy X's main theme on piano. First song I mastered... I can't remember it all now and need to look up the sheet music again.

The first song I taught myself on piano through-and-through was The 14th's Score from D.Gray-Man. Of course, this was a couple months ago. I have no musical talent whatsoever. ^_^

I like to write my own stuff, and that's probably what I first played on the piano, but the first song on guitar I learned was a rough version of Wonderwall by Oasis.

Hot cross buns. On the recorder. *****.
Wow, that's going back a looong way.

Do kids still do that in school these days?
I did when I was in elementary school, and I'm currently 15.

I never really got to learning a song all the way through. My attention span for certain parts of a song are too low, or a certain part is too hard.

So the most I've ever actually learned of one song was random sections of Blackout by Gorod.
Maybe that's the only song I remember, and no one can really say Hot Cross Buns was something they learned first, because maybe the second page of sheet music for that song got lost somewhere, and could have been a Beethoven Symphony.

The very first song I completely mastered, about 4 months after I started playing guitar, was Master of Puppets, solos and all.

I think it was either "Goin Against Your Mind," "Liar," or "Center of the Universe" all by Built to Spill on drums.

"Nothing else matters" by Metallica. Got drunk one night and decided to learn the intro. Was up all goddamn night trying to nail it, when to class the next morning with bloody fingers and a sense of accomplishment. The rest followed shortly after.

The first song I could play the whole way through on guitar and sing the words to at the same time is probably Everlong.
Maybe Razor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQJGvGyQBeQ

Neither of them were as easy as some of the earlier songs I tried playing, but these were the first ones that I had the determination to actually learn to play fully.

Wow. a lot of you learned by playing System of a Down. i know it's a fallacy to think you can get an accurate summation of a person based on their tastes in music, but if you listen to system of a down, that's pretty much all I need to know about you.

The first song I mastered was the bassline of "So What" by Miles Davis.
