I was waiting for someone to say this, thanks for that.
It would be truly epic.

Something by VAST. Some choices would be:

"I'm Dying"
"Last One Alive"
"We Will Meet Again"
"I Don't Have Anything"
"The Nile's Edge"

Or, if I couldn't get anything by VAST, I'd go with "Horse With No Name", by America. I just like that song.

Or, if I just wanted to throw a complete figurative curve-ball, "Hell", by the Squirrel Nut Zippers (look it up).
What about "Where It Never Rains" by VAST? "We Will Meet Again" is a good choice.

And is it just me or is "Hell" by the SNZ just another version of their other song "Trou Macacque"? Sorry to digress, but I never usually get an opportunity to bring that up ;-)

My pick would have to be "The Weeping Song" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

"This is a weeping song
A song in which to weep
While all the men and women sleep
This is a weeping song
But I won't be weeping long"

I Will Follow You Into The Dark - Death Cab For Cutie
Imagine - John Lennon
Let it Be - Beatles
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton

But I would probably go with
Fade To Black - Metallica

In A Graveyard - Rufus Wainwright

At once incredibly moving, but I also figure, very appropriate. I mean, I'm not going to get buried anywhere else. I hope.

Mmm Vast *drools*, though i think the 'Untitled' Track on Vasts self-titled album would be appropriate for me, i don't think i'd want lyrics in my funeral song.
Possibly 'NIN - A Warm Place' as well??

Yes.. That would be glorious if you could couple it with some coffin chase-scene antics and sexy lingerie wearing mourners!!!

I know someone mentioned this, but s/he had a point. Mine would be probably
"Don't Fear the Reaper" Blue Oyster Cult
"An End Has a Start" Editors
"Beautiful World" Rage Against the Machine

Hmmm....

I would like either 'Winter' by Joshua Radin or maybe that song which goes "Well, life is like a river, blah blah, I forgot the lyrics"

probs something by the cure.

I love mad world but angst is not what a funeral song should be it should be about loss or moving on.
