Basic and simple question here =]

What is "your" game?
What is the game that no matter what happens to it, you will always go back to it. The franchise could end or fall from grace, a sequel could ruin it, a movie could be made, or even a remake could be made, but you would still play it. You just have fun playing it, and will continue playing it over and over again.

I personally have a few, but one of my main newer ones is Lost Planet: Colonies, mainly because I really like the story, gameplay, and the overall snowy environments and the like. I can see myself playing this game over and over again, no matter what else ends up coming out.

So...what are some of "your" games?

Any of the main series Pokemon games. Although I've been sticking to SoulSilver for now until I get everything imported into my Black.

Strongly tied between the unbeatable Deus Ex and the absolutely fantastic X Beyond the Frontier.

I would say C&C, but they have been struck with a sudden onset of publisher axing it for not being profitable enough. That and I haven't enjoyed it a lot since Firestorm. Also Fallout, but more or less only the Interplay version that still seems like one of the most interesting narratives I know.
Then there's also Aliens vs Predator which is afflicted by another disease classified as "Teh Suck" but I still enjoy eating marines with my retractable inner jaw or shooting tons of dudes with a Smartgun.

On a more broader sense, Starship Troopers. The second movie was so bad it probably prevented the Rapture and movie 3 goes the religio-crazy route of pissing on the source material. Personally I don't believe that Religion has a place in Heinlein's military fascistic regime future.
I'd still play another game made in this universe or another movie if they only get the budget up a little and bring Verhoeven back as director. Which they totally did, awesome.

I can play Oblivion over and over and over.

I've hit 4,000 hours.

On consoles, no less. I love the vanilla game more than enough. Fuck the mods.

I can spend hours delving into random dungeons. And then returning to my favorites after the enemies respawn.

My overall favorite is the simple marauder-filled Fort Alessia located at the southern end of the large bridge SE of the Imperial City.

Dragon Age: Origins, any Zelda game, any Halo game so far, every Metroid game (What? What's Other M? You're speaking nonsense. There is no game by that name.) Chrono Trigger...

There are a few others, I just can't name them off the top of my head.

Fallout 3 or S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl

Both are huge and I could play them for hours and hours.

Xenogears. Still my favorite game of all time. Great story, great combat, fun every time I replay it.

No other game comes close to the perfect combination of great story and great game play that is Xenogears. ^^ I love that game. So much. So very much.

If I had a game boy/DS/whatever, it would probably be Pokemon G/S/HG/SS. As I only have a computer, however, it's a tie between Portal and Alpha Protocol.

Currently, Fallout: New Vegas. I've been pretty much going back to that after finishing a game ever since New Vegas came out.

Okami. Never gets old, it's always great and feels fresh no matter what. Mostly because it's so different, aesthetically at least, so it's hard to get burned out.

If I had my PS2, then it would be the Jak and Daxter series. Those games were great, they still look fantastic and the voice acting and platforming still hold up. I swear, if they make a Jak Collection (a la God of War and Sly Cooper) then I will put a ring around my PS3 and take its hand in marriage.

Sly Cooper, too. I've been meaning to pick up the collection for a while now.

Also, the Legend of Zelda series, particularly my favourite: the Wind Waker. That game is timeless, both visually and gameplay...ly. Beautiful and fun, even if the Bow and Arrow is fiddly and over-sensitive, but that's more the fault of the Gamecube controller.
