Lu Bu in Dynasty warriors 4, he is probably one of the hardest characters to kill in any game.

Especially when he happily appears on like level 2, I play through the whole story and repeat he's still more than a even match. Not even attempted that level on Chaos mode, no point what-so-ever!

Other than him, Liquid at the end of MGS4, I have never been so determined to beat a single boss. Hours it took me, hours.

They weren't that bad in Burnout Takedown and Revenge, except for their crappy rubber-band action. Still, not as bad as F-Zero GX.

I know a really hard, climactic battle can be a good thing... but it's hard to feel engaged when the boss just soul-rapes my characters into catatonic stupors and then hits them with lightning until they die.

Oh trust me. Engaged maybe not, but angry as hell yes. Enough to make him my Nemesis. And speaking of which...

You killed me four times in a row on Hard mode, even though I had played through the game a dozen times. Fuck you.

Ah good old Boost Guardian. Indeed a pain in the ass on Hard mode.

As for me, I usually avoid playing what I know will frustrate me to no end, but the two things that stick in my mind are:
- Street Fighter 4: Zangief, when playing El Fuerte on any difficulty. Worse than Seth. I think he knocked me out about 40 times before I beat him the first time.
- Halo: The Flood. God damn scary shambling tentacle-monster plant-thingy zombies... and there's no end to them. Plus they have one of the creepiest themes I have EVER heard.

Currently, the Brute Chieftains with Gravity Hammers from ODST are a massive headache if I don't have the right weapons. From a little while back, it would have to be the clock from Mirror's Edge .

Bah, I almost laughed upon seeing him for the first time at the end of Halo 2. As long as you give a big ugly monster a vast intellect and the ability to communicate in a sophisticated way, it's just not scary to me. What I find so scary about all the different zombie monsters of the Flood is the fact that they can't speak and their single-minded determination... they just moan and growl and come shambling towards you no matter what you do, they simply can't be reasoned with.
