I thought that Majora's Mask was better than Ocarina of Time.

Zelda ocarina of time is the best zelda game . Anyone that says its due to nostalgia is an idiot because ive played all the zelda games before it and the all the zeldas after it and majoras mask didn't come out too long after OOT so why wouldn't majoras mask suffer from nostalgia goggles?

I love JRPGs, I love Final Fantasy, I loved Mirror's Edge, I hated Heavy Rain, I don't see the hype in Gears of War 1, 2, or 3, I like Hunted: The Demon's Forge, and I hate FPS games.

Please, try not to start a flame war, I just want people to share their opinions, there´s no need to discuss it because it´s pointless, you won´t change people´s opinions talking from a forum.

You do know the entire point of making a thread is to create a discussion, correct? I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I am going to tell you that your insinuations on my post are incorrect. Good day to you, sir.

There´s a difference between discussing and just flaming. Provoking someone with a different opinion than you when that opinion is based on pure personal tastes and not on actual logic, it´s pure hard flaming.

I do hope you aren't truly serious. Since when have I flamed anyone in here? I haven't flamed a single person in my entire time being an Escapist. I wasn't provoking anyone at all with my opinion that Majora's Mask is better than Ocarina of Time. That's my opinion and it went in conjunction to the other guys question on why Majora's Mask doesn't suffer the Nostalgia Goggles. That's based on pure personal taste, not logic. And here you are picking a fight with me after saying let's not fight. You've got some wonderful logic going on there, pal. Kindly go learn the difference between flaming, and stating your opinion, because clearly you don't know if you're going to accuse me of flaming and provoking krazykidd for his opinion. I was only trying to tell you that the way you put your opinion probably wasn´t the most correct one. krazykidd thought that Ocarina was better. There are many people in this thread that like Mass Effect 2, and many others hate it, and I haven´t seen a response like:" I dissagre, Mass Effect 2 his worse/better". I understand that you weren´t provoking him, but it could have easily been interpreted that way. Now, can we just stop this pointless discussion? Mmmmm, but you're the only one that had a problem, as you can clearly see. I wasn't insulted or offended by your original post. If you misunderstood, then you misunderstood. I hate games like WoW, and Runescape where people spend hours upon hours trying to level up just to get some new title, a new item, ect.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against level grinding on game like Pokemon but the addiction levels for WoW are insane. Also, I never did get into the Halo series or any war games like CoD and Modern Warfare and even Gears of War. Not into any of those in the least.

I think Mass Effect is extremely overrated, I can see the appeal, the characters are mostly interesting, the universe is fun, and it is a good game, but its not the one of the greatest games of the generation.

While 2D gameplay is not automatically worse than 3D, I'd say that an AAA studio will always make a prettier game with 3D rendering than with sprites. Tekken is not automatically better than Street Fighter, but SF4 looks better than SSF2T HD Remix.

Not all gameplay translates into being better in 3D. A game can have 3D graphics, but function in a 2D environment.

A 3D model will take longer to make than a sprite, but once made, it is fairly simple to animate it. Animating a sprite involves drawing it again lots of times, at which point the initial productivity advantage is flushed down the toilet, along with a great deal of space on the game disk. The same applies to viewing from different angles.

I've done spriting and 3d modeling. No need to preach. ;p

Much of the artwork in later 2D games was made by rendering 3D models for this reason. And the animations were generally about 10 frames per second while the original 3D animations would have been 60fps or however fast your refresh rate is.

Super Mario RPG was done by rendering 3D models into 2d frame-perspectives. There's also Roto-scoping.
Of course, there's also cell-shading, which allows for 3D models to be projected into a 2D environment via Vector-mapping and shading.

The point is: The end presentation is not always strictly better in 3D.

I never liked any Final Fantasy. I gave it a lot of try but never liked it. I can tell it isn't because of the stories but its mostly because of the ''manga'' style and the gameplay.

I bought both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. I've barely put forth two hours into Mass Effect, I stopped playing around the part you had to go to the snow base to find the Matriarch (really early in, right after you're a Spectre). It didn't hold my attention at all, and I haven't gone back.

Alright, here's a doozy: I liked Bioshock 2 more than Bioshock 1. In a way.

I dunno, I can acknowledge that 1 was generally the stronger game. But the gameplay in 2 just feels so much more polished and satisfying in ways that make it hard to go back, and I found many of the characters pretty endearing. You can all be upset with me now, I regret nothing!

I really, really hate Uncharted. But I don't see it as a sin. I see it as an opinion and a right one at that. Though of course others will disagree. Opinions, funny old things aren't they?

Well, I think Fable 2 was a far better game than the original Fable and that Fable 3 was a decent game (not good, but decent). The trick is to never listen to anything Peter Molyneux ever says, ever.

Also, I think CoD Black Ops is a better game than CoD Modern Warfare 2. Thought both were still pretty bad, like the vast majority of FPS games.

And finally, I think that the story is more important than the gameplay. If the subject matter of the game doesn't grab me, then I'd really rather play something else.

honsetly i agree with you on point 3 don't know about 1 and since i never played any of the games you mentioned so heres is few of my "sins"
I camp hard and far away fro the objective in battlefield
i hate quickscoping(yes i know alot of people here would agree with me but the on the COD forums however...)
i care for the story much more than the gameplay.
i really hate "no russian"
also i don't role play in role playing games instead i project my self into the character.
Lasty Adam Jesen's voice sound alot like christan bales voice at times.

I loved Dragon Age 2, and Final Fantasy 12. I also loved Silent Hill 4: The Room, it's one of my favorite Silent Hill games.

I hated Super Mario Galaxy. I hated it so much.

Wind Waker is one of my favorite Zelda games.

I got the horse riding game on Steam, Secret of the Magic Crystal, and I enjoyed playing it.

Although I own Bioshock and Oblivion, I am only at the beginning of the games and have not touched them for a couple of months.
