Regenerating health.

I ama soldier in RL and I want to be able to take 30rds to the chest then just crawl behind a wall and wipe the rasberry jam off my face, but no.
So in my opinion, "realistic" shooters should cut that shit out, or less likely still, stop claiming to be realistic.

The games are still fun though

When in games, people's hands are pouring something and there is some arbitrary lamp in the way so they don't have to animate the liquid. It's probably really hard, but then DON'T INCLUDE THE DRINK.

Also, when cups are really huge in video games.

Uncharted 3 made both of these, and each took me out of the experience.

Games with guns and detachable magazines that don't let you chamber a round, then reload, i.e. M4 with 30-round magazines will always have 30, even if you chamber a round then switch to a full magazine.
I am the same way, which is why Call of Duty will always drive me nuts.

When a game with destruction has things that you can't break. Like I was playing Bf3 the other day and I saw a table. First thing I did was jump on it to see if it would crush to bits like in bc2. Sadly it didn't I then preceded to shoot a full clip into the table no effect. Then I tried to knife it which did nothing. I gave up on it but still bugged the crap outta me.

The first assasins creed's cut screen...or of sort the dilog bits. Not skippable and they go on for ages. Only reason why I have not replied it. (also no idea if that is present in future games but not played them)

Tutorals that explain how to play by in game caracters and voice over, in more real games. "Run over there use the X button to shrint" or "use the Y button to jump over this whole"

Shooters that let you keep your bulets. I have a gun with a 10 round mag I have 5 mags with 50 rounds in total, I reload after shooting 8 times then the counter shows 10-37, when shouldn't it be 10 rounds 5 clips, or are you telling me in the second or 2 reloading animation the carracter is franticy swaping bulets from one clip to another.

Games that have a lot of graphical flare like bloom and detailed bushes to hide that does not effect the enermies aim but does yours
Or alternitivly...probally more for the PC than anything elce
Games with graphical flare that makes it harder to spot enermies, but can be turned off...which is what some competitive multiplayer could do.

Games where crashing is a common place...I am talking to you stalker.

Games that require 100% internet connection to play
Games that require 100% internet connection to play that have large simgle player components

Games that are just NOT FUN TO PLAY (is there an excuse for this to ever happen)

Games that hide the graphical settings outside the game

Games that hind things they could include...the origonal DoW you could inprove the graphics up from the highest settings and add antialiusing by changing a file on the computer with note pad

Games that require a guide or an additional computer to get more infomation to get the lost out of everything

When characters can't move diagonally. You know, they do that weird forward walk while somehow sliding sideways thing. Doesn't really show up in newer games (at least, on non-player models), but that only makes it more jarring when it does,

Respawning enemies. I don't mind it if I'm returning to a saved game, but when I JUST cleared out an area in Borderlands or Dead Island and someone gives me a new quest to go there again and *boop!* it's repopulated with the same assholes I killed not 5 minutes ago...

Enemies taking more than one shot with a shotgun. I mean, it's a freaking shotgun. It blows everything to chunks. This espicially pissed me off in Borderlands.

Jack Marston's stupid, stupid goatee.

I cover it up, usually with a bandana. It's just so.... ew. No real reason, it just irks me.
perhaps it makes sense in universe, hes made himself out to be some hard-ass gun slinging wanderer

but really..under the facade he's still just a kid, a hurt and angry kid, the cloths and the misplaced facial hair dont change that

or mabye thats just me (dammit it jack why?????*sob*)

anyway..in dark souls...the charachters mouths dont move when you talk to them, ok it doent matter if you just dont look at their faces..but still

that and in any game charachters yelling out their stock phrases when there is really no need like... like "hurry up!" when your clearly npt lagging behined...OR when it break ups dialogue (jack marston have a conversation ehile riding with his dad...and screetching "WATCH IT" if you accidently tap his hoarse)
Yeah the characters breaking dialogue when you bump them irks me too. Come on Red Dead the dialogue in so good DON'T RUIN IT!!!

OT: In Mass Effect 2 I went without a helmet because Shepard looks stupid drinking through them. Not seeing my feet in a FPS irks me also.

In every RPG or MMO I've played a hood makes any character bald underneath, I'm pretty sure just moving a piece of cloth across your hair doesn't make it fall out then automatically grow back in rapidly once it's removed, I'm looking at you Bethesda, get workin' on that. ;)

"Boot to menu" punishment for death.

It does not add more challenge, it just forces me to replay stuff. If I have passed something, I have proven that I can do it- if I die the second time, it's only because I'm pissed off.

This. I almost never wore a hat in Saint's Row 2 because of that, especially on my female characters. I understand some hair styles can clip through hats/hoods and look tacky but why not just remove those strands... I don't like having my character bald/buzzcut under a hat XD

Another thing that bothers me: Character weapons being defaulted in cutscenes. "Hey! I just worked my ass off to get that sword! Why aren't you using it now?!" Though this problem isn't TOO bad anymore, it used to annoy me in older games.

Something tells me you might want to check out the Rainbow Six: Vegas games. Although I'm guessing the previous RS games were the same way, RS: V 1 and 2 are the only games I've ever played that actually took chambered rounds into account.

OT: Guns being used by countries or people you'd never see them using in reality (the CoD games are huge offenders of this). Like how in the MW2 you see Russian solders using FN P90s (a gun made in Belgium) and TAR21's (an Israeli weapon), or how in Black Ops you see Vietnamese solders using SPAS-12s (an Italian-made shotgun that didn't even exist during the Vietnam war). Doesn't bother me enough to hate the games, but considering how much I know about these guns and where they came from and who would actually use them, it's rather annoying to see.
Oh yeah, at least RS3 was like that, and I've loved those games, so imagine my excitement when they announced the next one. I played RSV2 for a while on Live, but right now there are some problems with my Gamertag related to a few fraudulent purchases, and because of something stupid I may not get to keep my Gamertag.

Anywho, armies will use weapons from different countries. I can tell you right off the bat that M16's and M249's used by the US military are made by FN in Belgium. Colt still makes M4's, though.

Yes, what is your nitpick? You know, that little thing that doesn't really wreck anything about the overall experience, but the simple fact that it exist is constantly nibbling in the back of your head and taunting you with a high pitched voice.

I watched a review of the Metal Gear HD collection the other day and remembered something that bothered me to death. In the intro cinematic and/or opening codec call your commanding officer makes a very clear point that Snake is going on a covert mission and no sign of him being there can be allowed on the scene, I think he even mentions that it even includes bullet casings.

And the very first thing Snake does? Dumps his parachuting mask that freakin' says U.S Army (and considering his mission is in Russia during the Cold War that info might now be the best to give away), in big shiny letters. As I said above, it doesn't really ruin the big picture for me, I forget about it pretty soon but while it's happening it just tickles my irritation bone so bad!

So what's yours?
Are you talking about MGS? Because that bugged me too. Even more so in the fact that he's doing a covert mission to retake a US military facility which was captured by terrorists. If they catch him, it's a no brainier the US government sent him, patches or no patches. So they might as well just give him a fricken machine gun.

But this is the same game that has twin clones with all recessive and all dominant genes respectively, so it's not like realism was high on the developers list of things to care about.

Unskip-able/unpause-able cut scenes. Those two things are very needed in a game. First time playing a game I want to see every scene, sometimes I have to leave real quick. But the cut scene won't pause, and then once you beat a game and want to skip scenes, you can't.

Games that Arbitaryly limit your ammo by making it really hard to find more. Take down a guard and grab his Assault rifle? Congrats. You got 6 bullets.

6 bullets? Who the hell goes into combat with 6 bullets? That's not even a full magazine.

And yes, I'm looking at you, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I was going to play non-violently anyway, but trying to limit my ammo in such a stupid way is just cheap. Especially when I use all of it up in your badly designed boss fights.
