When gaming, there are often many things that happen, but some are more memorable than others.

Mine comes from when Halo 2 was first released.

My cousin, my brother, and I were all playing a slayer match in the popular map "Headlong." I hopped in a Ghost, and sped towards my cousin, who was wielding a rocket launcher. Now, in Halo 2, we all know of the rocket launcher's lock-on feature. He happened to be at that little staircase right next to the giant freeway overpass/broken bridge thing.

Anyway, he locked onto me, I sped forward, and somehow my Ghost got lodged in the wall and the stairway railing. The rocket he fired went straight under my Ghost.

The following took place:

Me: "Hahaha you missed!"
*boom*

Turns out, the rocket he fired was still locked onto me. The rocket had gone under my Ghost, flew around in the air making a U turn, and collided with me, killing us both.

It was hilarious.

What gaming moment stands out in your mind as your favorite, or greatest moment in any video game, ever?

Watching my father play Captain Comic. Must have been, what, 18 years ago or something. I was 5 and my father was still better at games than me. I was mesmerized by hopping pixels.

There is a thread kind of like this I just posted in.

There are really too many great moments in gaming but mine would be with friends.

The two biggest social gatherings I've had was at my own house with the release date dual Xbox360 Halo 3 party. $80 worth of pizza. Soooo much Mountain Dew. The next would be when Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Another release date party. It was completely awesome. Again, another $60 or so on pizza. And these were cheap Dominos pizzas.

Killing any number of the demons in Demon's Souls.[footnote]Especially this [http://i.neoseeker.com/p/Games/Playstation_3/Role-Playing/Fantasy/demons_soul_profilelarge.jpg] one. Man you feel like a badass after that.[/footnote]
Never before have I wanted to let out a manly roar of absolute testosterone.

Aside from that, however, I must say getting invaded, and then killing that same invader.
Someone hops into your world, wants to skin you alive so they can reclaim their body, and then when you finally meet - it's on.

Red Orchestra, as the Russians. I was on the Stalingrad map. I was laying down in the factory, rifle in hand, waiting for some let up in the incessant machine gun fire hitting our position. I was behind a wall, so I was in no danger, but the position of the guns means we couldn't move until our snipers took out the gunners. Problem is, there was a sniper, a fucking good one too, who took out every single one of our snipers before they even got close.

Anyway, I'm sitting in the factory, when suddenly I see a shape on the horizon, on top of a building. I don't know if it's friend or foe, but I figure, if it's friend, I'll apologize, and if foe, good for me. Still, it's too far away to hit, I'm just bored, and need something to do. I take aim lazily, not expecting to hit. I shoot, and I get a perfect headshot. From ages away.

And, it turns out that that was the sniper. The other snipers on our team take this chance, rush forward, and take out the MG's. I'm feeling pretty chuffed, but it turns out the Germans have made an attack in force around the side of the factory. Eight guys come up the stairs, and into the room where I'm going through, and I promptly shit myself. I figure my luck can't hold, so I pull out my pistol and start firing wildly, hoping to take one with me. Every shot hits target. 8 rounds in the clip. 8 dead Germans. Their team didn't recover.

I got a lot of congrats that day. I felt like a soldier!

As for my favourite offline memory, probably beating Goldeneye on 00 Agent difficulty. I was only 8. At that point, I felt like I had conquered the world and killed Zeus himself.

Pvt. Furburt is credit to motherland and union, all should aspire to do as he does.

Also, quick question, I was considering getting Red Orchestra, Should I?

Anyway OT: It was Arena in Tf2, I was a Huntsman Sniper, and my entire team had managed to get themselves killed, so it was just me vs a Heavy, a soldier and a pyro.

Heavy went to go cap the point, I poped around the corner and put an Arrow thru his Skull, Then did the same to the pyro when he was rushing about to kill me, Then put a few into the solider.

I lost no health in the entire round.

As one of my teammates put it:

Possibly a Halo 2 match. It was an offline match with my brother and two of his friends. I don't play the games often, but I still make a good sniper. It was a free-for-all slayer, but I was really on my game; the score was something like 12-3-1-1. It got to the point where they decided to team up just to dislodge me from my favourite spot on the map, so they all hopped into a warthog, in the hopes that they could either shoot me on the way there, or one of the would make it into the "base." I sniped all three of them (the driver, gunner, and passenger, in that order). Three headshots, three kills, three bullets. I was promptly slapped by my brother.

Very much so! Granted, I'm quite biased, but if you enjoy realistic shooters, and are looking for the only real realistic representation of the Eastern front of WW2, geddit. The gunplay is great, the tank battles are brilliant, and it's probably the most intense online FPS I've ever played. The only problem is that the bot component, it's pretty shit. Still, get a fully human game going, you're in for the closest you can get to WW2 combat without buying a time machine.
One last question, what about Darkest Hour? The game based off of RO?

Mine might be a rather humble one, but I was playing this military chopper game *cough*army men air attack 2*cough*, and there was this one time, where I didn't really fell like I was gaming, more like I actually was flying (quite impressive as there wasn't the biggest emphasis on immersion in the game). i was playing perfectly, dodge every attack. It was almost an out-of-body experience. I was woken up from this when I finally toke a hit, though.

Just watched a gameplay vid, the weapon rest mechanic is really cool. I wonder why they haven't used that in other FPSs?

Playing Halo 3 for the first time online, 3rd match in I got a 50 kill streak on an FFA with no deaths. greatest moment of my Halo gaming ever lol. I can still remember getting the quad kill by a suicidal jump from the top floor leading with a grenade, I landed on a guy killing him with a hit and finishing off the other 3 with a wave of fire before running away.

Finally beating Mike Tyson.
Or, in second place, beating Frank Horrigan to death with only my fists.
