N+ is absurd, after the 30th set or so they're nearly impossible.
CoD:WaW on Veteran is fairly insane at times.
CoD:MW2 after you copy the hard drive in the cabin, that extraction is insane on Veteran
and then you got shot by the 'good guys' anyway.

3D Dot Game Heroes as Spelunker is hard... everything is a one-hit on you...

Clearly no one here has played F-Zero GX...the normal missions are hard enough, but if you want to unlock the secret characters, you have to then beat them on hard then very hard...and some are just plain ridiculous.. Mission 8 is one of those..

You have to make it through that track and come in 1st against the one guy at the end...the only problem is..the turns are extremely sharp, the dude is fast as hell, its a tight track, and there are mines all over the track....and for those who don't about F-Zero..your boost gauge is also your health gauge, so if you boost too much to try and catch up and hit something..KABOOM! Restart!

Somehow I managed to beat all of them...it was quite a feat though x-x

Don't like it when a game makes you think?

my hardest gaming moment.. umm... that part in MW2 where you gotta run out of the house down the hill to the helicopter, after dieing like 100 times i get to the bottom and get killed.. WTF hard and bullshit.
No. I don't like puzzles in an action game. If I wanted puzzles I would buy World Of Goo.

Mile High Club in MW1 on veteran. never actually finished it. In fact, I barely made it onto the second floor a handful of times.

I actually want to make a thread related to that now.

Just kidding.

The assault on the purifier in fallout 3.
it is the single most unstable point in the entire game, shit crashed constantly, so I had to save every few seconds to make any sort of progress.
It took me 2 hours to get through it.

The mission in GTA: Chinatown Wars where you have to burn down shit in a construction area. I gave up trying to beat the game with no cheats then and there and used explosive pistol ammo with dual pistols.

The last three hours of gameplay in Ninja gaiden II. I only managed it on easy, but still, I finished at like 3 in the morning having burnt in immages of every save point along the way since I had revisited them all SO many times.

beating BioShock on hard difficulty without ever respawning, just to find out that Brass Balls couldn't be unlocked because of a glitch.

Having to play Gauntlet on the N64. I swear, I was the only person I know who hated that game, and EVERYONE wanted to play it...

Actually, that Berserker level in Gears of War 1 with an AI team mate. The dumbass kept walking in front of the Berserker, so I tried my damnedest to keep the Berserker's attention while getting him to break through doors. The last time I played that game, the part that truly made me hate the game for all eternity, was when I finally managed to get the berserker to blow out the last door, I jumped out of the way when he charaged back inside and I sprinted outside and prepared the laser for him to charge me again. But that furking AI teammate... The teammate could get out of the door, he blocked the berserker. I was charging the laser so it would hit him as he charged me, but he hit the side of the door while the AI was coming out, walked up behind the AI, and my laser finally hit the ground. Just in time for the berserker to backhand my teammate into the laser. I just said "Fuck it" switched to Halo, and vented some frustration. If the AI hadn't been so god damn stupid I would have finished it in five minutes, but I quit after two hours because of that fucker.

So I guess escort missions are my immortal enemy, which is depressing with two really cool-looking action games coming out that are nothing but one giant escort mission... If my friend can't defend themselves, let the assholes die. I should not lose because of it!!

Hmm...probably the whole of the Portal Prelude, the final part where Glados is activated and you have no portal gun was pretty much the hardest part of the game.

Another one is Sephiroth in KH2, for some odd reason, no one is there to help you with one of the hardest bosses of the game. Of course it was one of the most rewarding moments in the game when you get the Fenrir keyblade.

Oh yes, small mention of Nancy and Azazel from Tekken 6, mainly for their ridiculously over-powered moves.

Chapter 14 on Fire Emblem 6.

Fog of War: Check, it's really hard to see.

Desert Terrain that impedes all units except fliers and non-mounted magic units: Mounted units have even lower movement ranges. Thank goodness they give us a mounted magic unit who is absolutely terrible!

Tons of Wyvern Riders and Wyvern Lords and Mamkutes: Check, and they're tough. Mamkutes only have really low magic resistance.

Extremely frail, low level, but gets really good later character that is required to get to the secret chapter: Check, Sophia is a level one Shaman. She is slow and dark magic tomes are heavy. However she makes a great Druid.

Really short time limit to access secret chapter: Check, it's 25 turns.

Berserkers and brigand reinforcements after you, but the other enemies ignore: Double check.

Hidden items that are buried in the sand and thieves are the only units that have a 100% chance of finding them: Check. Guess what? Thieves aren't magical units, yay! At least they get a vision boost in FoW.
