Ermm everybody is going to see them anyways, it's not like not posting on a thread makes it a special invisible thread. Maybe, 6 less posts? Oh no!
Do you by any chance live under a bridge and listen for the clip clop of Billy Goats' hooves?
No unfortunately not, although the job of a professional troll sure sounded fun when Yahtzee described it.

Please don't insult us, give credit where credit is due. The roleplaying and story aspects might not be as strong in Fallout 3 as in the previous games, but no one is claiming those aspects in FO3 are particularly brilliant. No, what we like is the exploration, and there's quite a bit of that to do.
You know what game series was great for 3D exploration?
"Elder Scrolls"

I'd like some Fallout in my "Fallout 3". The moral-choices, writing, dialouge and characters were virtually non-existant in this new entry. That bothered me as a longtime fan. It was fun, but it wasn't "Fallout" so much as *Drum-roll* "Oblivion"... the "Fallout" edition...
Fair enough. I admit, I got into this before the first 2 Fallouts, so I see it a bit differently from a long time fan, but still. People calling the game terrible because it isn't like the previous games in the series annoys me.

Now that I think about it, however, I'm doing the same thing with the Splinter Cell series. In the past, I have actually said that, although Conviction looks fun, it looks horrible as a Splinter Cell game, so I suppose I understand your viewpoint.

You know what? This discussion has inspired me. I'm going to do my best to judge Conviction on its own merit when it comes out, rather than ripping it for abandonment of concept.

Not really, it's pretty frustrating getting onto really any game forum and seeing over 9000 F3 threads and then any generic xbox/ps3/pc/rpg thread is filled with fallout comments. I mean, it's actually pretty unavoidable. And really annoying.
Shut-up. "Fallout" is a groundbreaking and amazing series and, just because the latest installment wasn't as original, innovative, well-written, immersive, interesting or fun as the previous three (that's right... the previous three, as "BoS" doesn't exist) doesn't mean it wasn't fun.

Ok, so I did me some googlin' to find out that this is a new game coming out, but what the hell is Wasteland of the Onesies?
Ouch... you just... oh... ouch. You're joking, right?

Anyway, what I'd like to see? A game that resembles an RPG rather than an Action/FPS game.
yeah because RPG's are'nt borign or anything they pull you in especially when they are turn based I just love that and Fallout 3 is the most unoriginal game I mean about every game is in post apoycolyptic D.C. and Vats, that is in like every game these days, and it never pulls you in what with your bland character and lack of many dramatic choices, and was way more boring and fun killing compared to the other two games (tactics and BoS didnt count) It was so unintresting and poorley written and did NOT skull fuck the other fallout games (sarcasim)
He said Wasteland of the Onseis because he is a picky little ***** and was complaining about how in fallout 3 when you put on an outfit it is always a complete outfit shirt, pants, shoes etc. you can't mix it up, even though he should appreciate the very large amount of outfits to choose from compared to most games where the choice does not even exist.
Ok you know how Fallout 3 was about perfect, well just keep that system except with a diffrent place, plot, people, and new weapons, armor and partners along with new decisions as difficult or more so than FO3 and maybe new cretures, make the landscape a little more than just the remains of vegas and desert, have intresting and unique places (my only real complaint about FO3 was the lack of variety.

The ability to dress your character in seperate clothing items unlike in Fallout 3: Wasteland of the Onesies

VATS (but with a seperate hitbox for the genitals... deathclaw penis crippled, try chasing me now asshole)
These two would be great. I initially thought of the nadshot as a joke suggestion, but the more I think about it, the more fun it'd add to the game. And god yes, PLEASE give us the options for clothes/armour...

I liked the modified Oblivion engine (can't... Remember... Real... Name...), though. I say we keep that.

I think that a nice happy medium between the two generations of the franchise would be great. While going back to top down views and turn-based combat would not be my idea of fun, some better dialogue and morally grey descisions in the vein of the old games would be very cool.
I'm not a purist, I actually think the first person view is a good change for the Fallout series. The only real reason the original was isometric were graphical limitations at the time, and frankly the combat was never very good in the original Fallout games. Same wth the visuals, terrible even at the time. Instead the original games compensated by creating a rich world through text and dialogue.

The new game however is a complete 360 from the originals. Where the old Fallout games focused on dialogue to cover mediocre gameplay and graphics, the new one focused on visuals and gameplay to cover up the mediocre at best dialogue and a bland world.

That's what I'm trying to get at here. And me? I'll take the originals approach over the new ones anyday. But Obsidian are being given a chance to create a new Fallout with the improvements of Bethesda's game but, you know, with decent writers. Bethesda really needs to hire a couple of those themselves.

DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT TROLLING MEANS? No? I didn't think so, even though I disagree with her view, she ISN'T trolling. She stated her opinion because [i/]its her damn opinion[/i] not because she wanted to piss off the internet. I'm really getting tired of the flagrant trolling accusations.
That would have made more sense if you actually quoted the bit where I suggested she was trolling.

Everyone's a comedian tonight...

Somewhere amidst that vast, gloriously mis-spelt, unitelligable wall of something resembling a bastardised version of the English language I noticed you called me a 'picky little *****'.

Just wanted to say thanks for the compliment.

I was distracted and trying to type it quickly. You can't expect perfect grammer, and your welcome.

Yahtzee? What's that? Is that like a Onesie?

Seriously though... we've gone on long enough now. I am retiring from our (admittedly fun) mud throwing match for fear of ruining the thread.

Who really cares? Its the internet, grammer and spelling don't matter.
Not particularly, but it sure helps whateva point ur tryin 2 make.
True but I think this thread is starting to go off track. we moved from Fallout 3 to my poor atempts at grammer on the internet. How about In New Vegas they let you make traps and improvemnt on peoples movement, as fun as Fallout 3 is I can never shake this feeling that everything is very slow, and rough, if they could make character movement fluid and natural it would help a great deal.

Maybe you could find an abandoned power armor testing facility that has different, special abilities, like the Iron Man armor.

Yes. And repair crashed alien ships, then fly them around.

You should email your idea to Obsidian and see.
Dear Obsidian

It has come to my attention that you are charging cash for games in a crazed attempt to generate "profit". I am sure that now you have been notified you will rectify the situation/ ignore this crazy asshole.

yours faithfully

LordofthePickle

Edit: still no reply
Don't worry, this 'money' thing is just a fad, it'll never catch on.

On that note, I hope next year it's Crysis 2... Hope it's out by then...
Fallout rocks, though. Gotta keep it related...

None really, it'll be what it'll be, today is to early to tell. My single hope is it grips me like Fallout 3 did.

Well, huh, I think you were trying to make a point that had nothing to do with what I was saying, aside from the obvious "SKULL FUCK" remark and to that I say that you completely mistook what I was saying. I defend "Fallout 3" as a good game, I enjoy it, do I find it anywhere near as fun or immersive? No. Because, even without turn-based combat and nearly completely text-based dialouge it still failed to make me feel like anything I did mattered. Okay. I blew up Megaton. Whoopity shit.

The focus of the "Fallout" series was that everything was effected by your choices and your stats, neither seem to have much bearing on how this entry was played. Beleive it or not, that's what I FUCKING WANTED! If I wanted to play "Oblivion" again, that's what I would have done.
I never once retorted that "Fallout 3" was a rip-off of anything, but, if we're going to get technical, a million and one games are set in "post-apocalyptic" comewhere or another and, believe it or not, the VATS system has been in every "Fallout", all it did was turn your happy action-heavy gameplay into nothing more than the same turn-based combat you're bitching about. It's all numbers and, OMG, guess what an RPG is?

"Fallout 3" is sloppy. It isn't a great action game because it sacrifices too many action qualities for RPG perks and vice-versa. On top of that, they sacrificed qualities that the "Fallout" series is known for, effectualy making it less of a "Fallout" game altogether. Some of us have fun exploring, meeting characters who are actually interesting, facing some actual difficulty and playing through a story that is actually affected by our deciscions. That may not be you, Micheal Bay, but some of us enjoy that. So some of us found it a sore disappointment. Some of us like a good game and don't need action to keep us playing.

Your character WAS boring. The story WAS boring (and unoriginal). The characters WERE poorly written.

Eat your sarcasm, honkey.
