So The Dark Knight was obviously a massive success, but how do you top it? What do you think they should include, exclude, or improve upon for the next film?

Personally, a major fear of mine is the introduction of Robin. I hate that character with a passion. He was fine with the silly Adam West-style of Batman, but in any serious Batman, he just ruins it for me. He's like mustard smeared messily across the juicy barbecued steak that is Batman. And I just know that if they do write him in, he's going to be Shia LaBeouf. Do not want.

Don't worry. Both Bale and Nolan has heavily discounted Robin ever being in any of the new movies. Just research it. You can find many statements from both of them saying so.

Personally I want Talia al'Ghul and Catwoman battling it out over Batman/Wayne whilst Bane goes crazy as he is want to do.

I liked the batman cartoons' Robin. Before the simpler artist took over. He wasn't some goofball. He was decent. And then his evolution into Nightwing was pretty intense. I can see it done well, if done right. It's Child-Robin that irks me. Some under developed adolescent does not top even your most basic gun wielding thug, no matter how god his toys are. Geh.

How would I top The Dark Knight? Geh. Hard to do, really. The preformances and story delivery were near flawless. I think it'll be interesting, but hard if neigh imposable to top. :) I believe with Gotham hunting Batman, we'll see Bane appear. He's named as such as he is the Bane to Batman.

hmmm not sure, i'd like to see the inclusion of Catwoman/Selina Kyle and her anti-hero role in it

tho as a villian i'd love to see a good Riddler or Penguin. tho i do hope they don't end up doing what they did with the Joker

I want to see the Riddler. He has always been my favorite Batman villain, along with Scarecrow. I would also love to see some of the villains from Arkham Asylum: Living Hell. I just finished reading them and they were awesome.

Here's to Eddie Murphy as the Riddler. I think he could put a new spin on the character, one I would love to see.

As to what I don't want? Johnny Depp as anything. Not that he is a bad actor, I just don't want him tainting my Batman.

Don't make me laugh. Murphy is a has been. He makes crap movies for retarded kids like Rob Schneider. Keep him so far away from Batman he would be on Mars. David Tennant as the Riddler would be so much better it is not even in the same class.

I think a great path for this series to go in is into the mask of the phantasm part, it's dark and it has batman being blamed for murders he did not commit(see where I'm goin with this)
the only thing wrong with this is they need a joker, and I would like to point out that MARK HAMILL IS AN AWESOME JOKER

I hope that it will suck so I can stop seeing this damn question (Not necassarily on this forum, but in general). Also, I'd like to see Jim Carrey repise his role as the Riddle, but more of the dark, sinister Carrey from The Number 23, rather than the goofy Jim Carrey of the past.

Also, the Mad Hatter.

No Joker, so there can be no Harley Quinn.... this makes me sad.

He can't have a full time co-star, too great a risk he'll cross his line of sight.

As for me: Killer Croc, Langstrom, Clayface...

Perhaps Robin Williams as the Ventriliquist?

Perhaps Anthony Hopkins as Hugo Strange?

Yeah, but you need to remember that Nolan Joker is not THE Joker.

Its your choice if you laugh or not. I'm not making you at all. I think he could bring a nice new twist to the role and would like to see it. Sorry my opinion of him doesn't match yours.

VERY VERY true. When I realized he was in Arkham Asylum I was quite smiley, but it's too soon after the momentous final perfomance of Mr. Ledger to tread on that ground. It's a great idea for a later entry to the saga, but I think it would be in poor taste to be in the very next film.

How could he bring anything good to the table? How? How is anything he has done for the past ten years or more any where close to the high caliber work that was The Dark Knight and Batman Begins? Please explain it to me. I am just curious.

totally

I wannna see what they would do with Poison Ivy or Mr. Freeze... or the Penguin...
However if they did put the penguin into a movie with Bale all I would be able to think about is that episode of the old batman sieries where everyone was saying, "We are ready to rehydrate."

I seriously hope the rumors of Catwoman are false.

I... I haven't liked her in any of her appearances. She wasn't that great in the animated series, she was even worse in her own movie, and I consider the one with her and the Penguin to be unequivocally the worst Batman movie ever made.

I think he's would fit "too well". Oftentimes the best actors are the ones who you think would be terrible, while the actors you think would fit in a role best often do terribly. Just look at the casting decision for the Joker in Dark Knight; Heath Ledger was an amazing actor, but NO ONE thought he would make a good joker. There's tons of examples of this, but since it's 1 AM I'm not going to cite any of them.

Random though on this topic, Patrick Stewart as The Clock King.
That could work if done right and he is certainly awesome enough to be in the next movie.

Worse than Batman and Robin? WOW, that is amazing.

Screw Heath Ledger, in my opinion he is the least of all the joker's
and would you like to know why?
He couldn't do the laugh,
yes he was insane, yes he brooded in chaos, yes the magic pencil trick is awesome
but he couldn't do the laugh and all the joker's before him could

Edit* sorry I guys I don't want to come off as a complete dick and nothing against Heath Ledger but I grew up with the Laugh
