If you could have a game concept made into a full game, regardless of how much it would cost, how difficult the game be to make or how limited the appeal, what would it be?

My ideal game would be a perfected and vastly improved version of Spore. A god-game where you control everything from single-celled life to intergalactic empires is an amazing concept. Unfortunately, all the stages in Spore was too limited in scope and the only "big" mode (space) is simply large in scale and not complexity.

Just imagine a game where your single celled creation evolve traits that actually effect the rest of the game. Intelligence effects available tech and physical properties give access to different traits and skills which have uses throughout the game. For example, creatures evolved with night vision would gain bonuses at night or on planets without suns for example. Races without, would have to research light amplification tech. The possibilities are endless. Every mode would be expanded upon and become a full game unto itself. Cell mode would be expanded to allow The Incredible Machine style evolution (visual programming of different traits and how they interact would be amazing), creature mode would be a full-fledged 3rd person adventure game (think the MMO's that creature mode was inspired by originally), tribe mode would be a full RTS, civ mode would just be actual Civilization and space mode would be more like Masters of Orion is scope and complexity.

Basically a 4X/God-Game that emulates the Universe. So a better Spore.

What would be your ideal game?

You play a master thief in a steampunk setting. It's like Assassin's Creed, except thieves instead of assassins. And there's no god awful renovation minigames. Or crappy writing.

A 500 Gigabyte Star Wars MMORPG with every single ship, every single planet, and ALL THE EMPTY SPACE in between. Every planet fully rendered and unique, not to scale but still HUGE. The openess of EVE Online set in the Star Wars universe.

When on foot, if you use guns, it would go to 1st person mode, and lightsaber combat would be similar to Jedi Outcast. The space combat would be open like EVE, but more player-controlled, like X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and utilize a joystick. All of this with Crysis 2 graphics.

A zombie apocalypse survival game in a Grand Theft Auto/Saints Row/Just Cause style setting. Huge sprawling city with hijackable vehicles, buildings to barricade and shops to loot for food and weapons. But you have to keep on the move, food and ammunition doesn't respawn and there's limited fuel for vehicles. More importantly the infection is determined based on the events of a prequel in which you first came to the city. Whatever decisions you made are carried over into this one and go into helping you gather followers and assistance.

The infection starts off small and spreads so you've got plenty of time to plan for it.

I think that's what the Thief Series already is.

True, but not in the sandbox way I'd like it to be.

My ideal game would be Dwarf Fortress when it is finished (which it literally never will be). Basically, a fantasy world game that simulates everything from high-level inter kingdom politics and epic wars, to the current health of a peasant woman's horse's liver. Then you get to choose whether you want to play as a single person (adventure game), the manager of a settlement (RTS) or even a deity (???). Some day that game will reach it's lofty goals... or at least some of them.

Yeah, I play a lot of Dwarf Fortress so I totally hear you on this. The current work on the undead arc is looking pretty sweet.

I want this game. o.o

And I'm going to have to go with my babe on this one. I've been dying for a game to come out similar to this description. Then we've been talking about a game like this for a couple of years now. xD

Pre or post Spellplague?

Mine would either be a pre - spellplague or a World of Darkness one.

Doesn't matter if I play sin-eater, wraith, mage or demon. I like them all. And for it to be an RPG not some action, no use of skills out of combat game. If Troika would have implemented the 'different dialogues' for all vampire classes and not just for the malkavian, I would have said exactly like that one but longer.

Updated Time splitters Future Perfect that works on 360.
Updated textures and meshes.
MORE characters
MORE guns
MORE space on the map editor

That would be a perfect game.
Not very imaginative, but it would keep me happy indefinitely.

sci fi epic where you play as a female...except with open worlds and big decisions (and fully voiced of coarse)

or Fallout 4 with a brand new engine and fully voiced protagonist

I want to see the Master and Commander book series realized as games

with conversation based roleplaying ala mass effect

hand to hand combat

shooting

naval warfare

some economic and resource managing elements

and you could even throw in some light RTS pieces once Captain Jack began commanding multiple ships.

Honestly, I'd like to see more naval games in general. I don't think I've played one actually, much less one that focuses on 1800's naval combat. It's always just control of some random boats in a RTS instead of a real focus on naval warfare. This would be pretty awesome if proper attention was paid.
