4 horseman from Vanilla Wow or C'thun, he was a pain, weeks and weeks of 4 hour raiding every day, good times.
I would think the DM should have stepped in at some point there to help them out a littleChrono180 said:Not me, and not a video game, but a friend of mine used to play 2nd edition D&D and at one point they spent something like 5 hours trying to kill a monster, only to finally realize that the "monster" was actually an illusion that went away the moment they disbelieved it. This is a lot easier to understand when you realize that in 2nd edition, illusions were a LOT harder to detect than in 3rd edition.
I think it was the Pandemonium Warden in FFXI took the top guild 18 hours to down the damn thing. There was an article about it on The Escapist like 2 years ago about itJulianking93 said:Wasn't there one boss that lasted 13 hours or something and was meant to be played for that long?
That may have been it. I do remember reading a story about it on Yahoo and that it was indeed a FF game. The Infinite said:I think it was the Pandemonium Warden in FFXI took the top guild 18 hours to down the damn thing. OT: I would have to say Omega Weapon in FF8. DAMN that crap took forever. I never got far enough into FF12 to face whatshisname.
I was going to phrase it this way but I didn't guess I should have known this would happenShuggo said:Sorry my friend, quite a few have defeated him. The first wave was due to a wall glitch, and the second through an all or nothing zerg of KC Drk's. If I recall correctly this was quickly patched up by SE since it wasn't how they wanted him to be taken down. I quit playing a while ago so I'm not sure if the "legit" way has finally been figured out, but to say someone is lying point blank like that is greatly incorrect.LeonLethality said:Yiazmat for the one I beat, it took me eight hours!
And Absolute Virtue as one I (and everybody else) can not beat. If you have beaten it you are lying as nobody has ever defeated this boss.

.....however, I guess that is cheating in terms of this thread. I left the game running whilst I went to do something else and only realised it was still going when I came back after a weekend away. Still 'technically' the longest boss fight I ever had.
