A lot of "Dantes" on peoples lists... no one else figured out WHY that is yet?

Okay, I will tell you... He is OP. Dont even try to justify your use of him, I watched someone play as him and then played him for 3 minutes and absolutely destroyed everyone. A team with Wolverine, Dante and Ryu will be unstoppable. You can replace one of them with Amaterasu if you want as it will spam the crap out of you easily by just hammering heavy.

My team I chose for a very specific reason... because they are, without a doubt, the worst characters on the game (Except for Thor, Thor sucks donkey balls.).

1st: Spencer
2nd: M.O.D.O.K.
3rd: Arthur

Just an awful, awful team and if you lose to them you suck.
Dante OP? Nah. Dante and Deadpool make quite a lethal combination, but I beat both of those characters on a regular basis.

The only character that I would say truly has anything game-breaking about him is Sentinel. Highest HP, highest attack power, his attacks take up half the damn screen, and he can juggle the fuck out of you with just one button. The only negative to having him on your team is that it's easy to time ultimate moves in between his slow attacks. And yet he still manages to block them at times when he's clearly mid-animation.
Yeah, and remind me... who DOESNT know that Sentinel is OP? No one needs telling that Sentinel is OP.

Whereas people think that they are actually good with Dante because of the huge and easy combos when actually no... hes painfully easy to use, has a wide range of attacks, is fast and powerful AND has a power-up on top of x-factor. And yes, you have seen all the Dantes right? Of course there are going to be people who use him who SUCK at the game, they use him PRECISELY because they suck at the game and he is OP. Thats why everyone uses him, its not because he is difficult to use and cant combo to save his life.

I don't have a specific team. I beat the arcade mode using...everyone basically. The three characters who I've used more than any other though...

Viewtiful Joe
Arthur
Dante

...

that doesn't seem right. I don't really like using Arthur, it just took a while to see his ending. Same with Joe but I like using him. My favorite 3 to use (because screw stats)

Dante
Wolverine
Hulk

Quite frankly I haven't found any character that's "hard" to combo with yet. Spend ten minutes in training executing each of a character's moves, and you'll be pretty much good to go.

Not everybody uses Dante. If he doesn't fit in with your other teammates or doesn't fit your playstyle, I don't know why you would use him. I tried playing him for a bit, but my brother absolutely dominated me with his team of Wesker, Hulk, and Ryu. And yes, I had practiced with his moves.

Deadpool has the exact same amount of HP and attack power, and is roughly the same speed as Dante. I prefer him by a mile.
Just spend 1 minute looking at all of the people who chose to have Dante on their team, they arent using him because hes just so much like Deadpool.

I like to have a team of ranged attacks, close range, and then a mix, and with that I have a solution for any situation. Doesn't always work, but I usually get at least 1 or 2 of their characters fully dead before losing. So far, and I've only played a little bit, but I've been digging this line up:

Mixed: Dante or Deadpool. So far liking Dante a bit more.
Melee: Wesker or Captain America. Both can cover lots of ground fast, I like Wesker for his tricky attacks.
Ranged: Dr. Doom or Magneto. I usually try and only use them for assists but if I gotta fight with them, I tend to do better with Magneto, but I like em both.

I hope they bring back old characters with DLC. My old team used to be:

Strider
Red Hood
Dr. Doom

And that team used to cover all those areas sort of.

Amaterasu (I still prefer to call her Ammy)
She is essentially a goddess. And she's cute.

Frank West
Because he's covered wars, you know. And a zombie apocalypse.

Dante
I need some sarcastic jackass to lighten up the dialogue. Also, that awesome sword might come in handy.

Also, I don't know anything about Marvel, apart from them publishing comic books. Maybe I should watch more AT4W.

I know, they're using him because they like him. Or because they THINK he's overpowered like you. Then when they get whooped a few hundred times they realize that isn't the case. I mean really, which of his "overpowered" moves is so great? The crystal ranged attack that only makes it halfway across the screen and will only hit you if you're being dumb? Or the homing missiles attack that literally gives you a HUGE opening for a combination attack on him? Or his slow sword attacks? Or what?
Hows about EVERY SINGLE OTHER SPECIAL ATTACK?! I know it can be hard to figure them out, what with the difficult commands you have to input... I mean, light or medium attack instead heavy? Talk about hardcore gaming(!)

And those you mentioned... easy to work into a fight. If the reason you dont think Dante is as good as I am claiming is because of those 2 attacks then thats the same as saying Sentinel (who we have already comfirmed is OP) isnt OP because one of his hypers is a close-range beam or that sentinel force heavys bombs dont reach either end of the screen.

Dante is good but I've seen nobody online use him well. They mess around with easy stuff into the guns or try to spam bad projectiles for no reason. I can actually do a super long combo that takes over 600.000 life with him but I've seen nobody online attempt even half as good of a combo, only being content with simple one or two hits into a super.

Because of the above, I find it hilarious when people decree Dante OP since they've most likely seen nothing of what he can do and are basing it on noobish factors that don't go beyond the beginner-level of play that they're at.

Dante
Chris
Wesker

Usually. I'm only half decent with all of these characters.

We agree that Sentinel is OP because he has the most HP, most attack power, and attacks that all pretty much hit two or three times. Dante has NONE of these things. Mediocre attack power, mediocre HP, and mediocre speed. He's not OP unless there is virtually universal consensus of that like there is for Sentinel. I've been beaten by teams with Dante on them, but never once did I feel that it was BECAUSE of Dante himself. A couple of aerial team combos, which are easy to initiate on him because most all of his moves leave him open, and boom, he's done.

Just the fact that I'm willing to defend him so fervently even though I never use him on my team should tell you something.
It tells me nothing, except that you may be lying about your lack of using him. That same logic can be reversed in that the vast majority of people in this thread have Dante as one of their characters and not a single one has come to say he isnt OP because they know they cant argue that point... in fact, that argument is substantially stronger than yours.

Oh and lying wont help your cause... anyone can just play Dante and see he isnt mediocre, but nice try (I guess...).

Umm...didn't you read (or understand..?) my above post?

And yes, I do use Dante lol.

Dante (yeah, I know, but linking his special moves is a blast), Akuma and Deadpool, great for linking combos, special moves, etc. Plus Dante is my favorite Action protagonist, Deadpool is my favorite comic book character, and Akuma is just a plain ol' badass.

I don't have a solid team right now, but I have a couple characters I switch in and out so far.

C. Viper is my main character... she's always on the team. Other then her,

X-23 or Wolverine

and

Ryu/Deadpool/Dante.

So far I play with a variation of these characters, though right now I'd say my most used team is:

C. Viper, X-23, Ryu. I can't stand slow characters in a fast game, and I love characters who can dash. Viper is badass cause she can air dash AND double jump. I need to figure out other characters like her.
