What are some of your most epic battles in gaming? They can be against computers or against people. Here are mine:

-Once, I was playing pokemon pearl and even though my highest pokemon was only like level 58 or so, I thought I'd try my hand against the elite four. I never used items on my trip so I had alot of stuff stacked up. I equiped my best berries, ect, and went in with a team of Palkia, the three lake defenders, Luxray, and a Magmar.

I made it up to the fourth person, and almost lost except I had alot of items for bringing my pokemon back. I used up all of my healing items and all of those type of items, and finally won. I only had one pokemon left, my Luxray. However, that Luxray was my original first caught pokemon and had been my main the entire game. At half health, I went on to fight the champion and defeated it's first pokemon before being defeated by it's second after a long battle. I had lost, but I felt it was kind of epic to go forward with my most trusted pokemon in what would surely be a losing fight.

-My second one is in Street Fighter IV. I was fighting this guy's Balrog as Ken. Now I'm probably only an average player and this guy was good, he kept beating me but we kept fighting. Neither of us really spammed any moves and so the fight just looked amazing. We kept leaping and dodging each other's moves and would just barely get hits off when it seemed the other was going to connect.

The best part though was one of our last battles. We had an EXTREMELY close fight that had lasted a long time. We had pretty much figured out each other's moves in that time frame, and so we were avoiding and connecting and making new strategies on the fly. Finally, I missed with a Shoryuken that would've finished him. As I land, he pulls out his ultra, and I know I'm dead. However, I hadn't quite touched the ground yet, and so I fly backwords just enough that I land on my feet. I quickly imput the command for my own ultra, and with his fist literally centimeters from my face, mine connects, and I win the fight...only to be disconnected from the PS network by an error. I was irritated, but it was still awsome, and we ended up friending each other and fighting for the rest of the night on friendlies.

Me and a friend were playing Soul Calibur 4 once and we couldn't hit each other because one would attack and one would block or dodge and the battle was so intense we were both getting worn out because we needed to react to one another so quickly, we slowly managed to whittle down each others health and the battle ended in a double KO so neither of us won!

And the last boss in God Of War 2.

Wow, how did you copy your fight to video? Or is that something that game can do on the Wii? Also, I swear I've heard "renzoguko" yelled in a game before, but I don't know what it would mean, lol. That was some nice fighting though :D

Nah. I use a record device. It could be nice if the Wii can do that but I like this device.
And the quality is good too.

Recently while I was playing Far Cry 2 I had what felt like an pretty epic moment.
My objective was to take out a radio transmitter in a guarded camp. I had just made my way up on a vantage point, where I could scope out the enemies locations with my empty dart rifle. The problem was I had just been through a gunfight in a cease-fire zone, so I was pretty much dry of ammo. I had 2 IEDs (remote explosives), and 17 rounds for my silenced MP5. I decided to try and play hero and snuck my way in the tall grass to the camp. I made sure only to move when their sniper wasn't looking in my direction, and made it all the way up to his tower unseen. A patrolling guard got awfully close, so I decided to take him out with the MP5, which still alerted the other guys that something was up. I hid behind some barrels, waiting for the search party to clear out. When they did, only one of them was left on guard there. Then I noticed an explosive barrel close to him by the sniper tower.
I waited for him to get close to it, and took him out with a single headshot. Once again the search party came just as planned. One of them found him, and called out for the rest. As they gathered, I stood up from behind the barrels and unloaded my last bullets into the explosive barrel, taking them, and the tower out. I knew my position was known to them now, and the fire was spreading in my direction, so I sprinted to the closets corpse and took his fallen weapon. I then proceeded to sprint to the nearest cover, and started picking them off. After I had cleared a path to the radio transmitter, I made my way there, planting an IED, and running off to the vantage point, where I could get a nice view of the fireworks. Objective completed. I felt good.

Note, I didn't use quicksaves. Far Cry 2 has taught me that quicksaves ruin the "story", it can't all be gun blazing victory after victory, there need to be downs in a story to be good. That's why their buddy rescue system is genius. If you do fail, your buddy comes to drag you to a safer spot, and then helps you fight off the remaining hostiles. But if you die before your buddy is "rescue ready" again, then it's game over. It gives you a second chance to get through a spot, without just reloading a checkpoint. It really adds to the immersion in my opinion.

I remember playing Battlestations: Midway over XBL at one point, far too much happened to go into full detail about it, but I found a game where everyone had headsets, were talkative and actually worked as a team. But it was quite intense at times, my team lost but that was one of the best online gaming experiences I've ever had.

UT2k4 springs to mind.
Me and my buddy where playing on the same map and same team, where you have to capture the nodes and destroy the base of the enemy that way, we both got ourselves those spider-mine guns, loaded up on ammo and got a pair of those fast hovercrafts, then we put the spidermines onto the wings of it and just raced around like madmen. everytime you got close to an enemy by racing by, a few mines would simply jump off and go after them and killing them in the procces (this was before they patched it out)if we couldn't both do it, one would also stand on a wing, dumping more spidermines or constantly repairing using the link gun. We got a shitload of abuse from the players before they booted us from the server and we racked up 100 kills and maybe died like 2 or 3 times each. We laughed our asses off and were invincible in every map that had said spidermines and hovercrafts.

That sounds more evil then epic, Sjakie, hehe. Also, I should mention I just checked, and my highest level pokemon was only 54.

Fifa 09

I played an organised online tournament once.
Onr of the rules for some strange reason was that the Final must be decided by a clear goal, no penalties, but Extra time was allowed.

We played out 7 draws AET
In the 8th game the match was tied 1-1 in the 2nd half of extra time, With the clock ticking down I took a pot shot at goal about 35 yards out from the wing, my opponent got in a tackle and the ball just looped up off his player and lobbed the keeper making it 2-1.
I held on for the remaining 30 seconds to win.
Total luck, if that would have happened to me I think I'd have needed a new controller and TV.

This is just one off the top of my head that your first post reminded me of. It's 100% true and I couldn't believe it happened when it did.

I was playing the original Pokemon Red Version on my shitty old Gameboy Pocket and after finally beating the Elite 4, I decided to go and catch Mewtwo. Thus after 4 hours of wandering through that god forsaken cave (this was back before my knowledge of Gamefaqs and I was like 8 or 10 or something like that, thus having a poor sense of direction) I finally got to fight Mewtwo. I brought around 80+ Ultra Balls, 30+ Great Balls and about 25ish Pokeballs. I had gotten him down to a sliver of health and then proceeded to throw my 140ish Pokeballs at him while keeping my party alive. Finally as I came down to my FINAL regular Pokeball, I miraculously caught him. I didn't until that point think it was possible to catch him with a regular Pokeball. I then jumped for joy and immediately saved my game, after which realizing just how many potions and Pokeballs and such I'd gone through. In the end still worth it because I could beat the Elite 4 with JUST my Mewtwo after that.

Wow yeah, thats pretty cool! I'd probably use it for my SFIV matches since everything else I own is either single player or I just play the singleplayer.

Haha, I wish that worked for Palkia. I have to go and grind with my pokemon to fight the Elite four :p. And yeah before I knew about GFAQS (not sure if it was around back when Red was released) I accidentally killed Zapdos when I went to catch him, and he was the only legendary I knew about. I was so pissed, lol.

The device I use only uses Video and not component. But it's still not a bad thing.

Company of Heroes

My army was at the enemy base, we captured almost all the points on the map and we were about to start destroying the HQ, when suddenly a KING TIGER comes onto the map. It was like a final boss battle, my units were attacking the tiger while I got some engineers to put explosives on the HQ.
We won.
