Hm. I've been talking way too much about Modern Warfare 2 and GTA IV...
Lets get some RTS up in this *****!
!!!Warning. EXTREMELY LONG and EPIC READ AHEAD!!!
Supreme Commander 1, 4v4 Seton's Clutch. I'm way in the back as my three teammates hold the front. They agree to let me tech up and help out later, as the game gets off to a slow start. All four players on the other team start sending off units down the middle. Of course with artillary and missile defence it's easy to hold them off. The game gets intense halfway through when one of the guys on the other team launches a nuke. All three of my teammates start sweating as the nuke heads our way. It misses the defensive line and the first guys base. The other two players who were off to the sides already know that they're safe, leaving me. From the start I knew I wasn't going to get nuked, since I had two anti-nukes. I dispatch the missile and inform everyone else to make their own nuke defence, since the other team seemed to be springing for a nuke barrage. The middle chokepoint was filled with units, but they slowly began decreasing. At this point we all had at least one anti-nuke so we were safe for the time being. The whole game I was building up a monster economy and focused only on air factories. I sent a couple of spy planes over to the other team to check their progress. Two of the four guys were building experimentals, and the other two already had a combined force of three Fatboys. In case you're confused, they're giant mobile factories armed with battleship cannons and personal shield generators... Anyway, my teammates start to build their own experimentals to counter the enemy's, and literally nobody had paid attention to me since the start of the game (unless you count the attempted nuke). All four of us had sam stations all around the main body of our combined bases, along with shield generators stacked by twos. Anyway, the experimental war begins. Fatboys, Soul Rippers (giant gunships), Monkeylords (giant spiderbot with mounted cutting laser), and mobile artillaries start pounding on each other. The enemy team starts closing in on our point mans base. Finally I spring into action, having a total of two hours (yeah, I know. Supreme Commander has ridiculously long battles) to build up a mass of one thousand tech 3 Broadsword gunships... Ten have the power to dispatch an experimental unit in less than twenty seconds, so you can imagine what one thousand can do... Anyway, I start creating groups of two hundred and strategicly begin to send them in. Three groups with a combined six hundred gunships begin sweeping down the middle as the remaining two groups with a combined force of four hundred fly over the seas on both sides. Soon enough the middle group had taken out all of the experimentals that had been sent down the middle, and the two groups on each side were just about finished with the navys of two enemy teammates. An estimated fifty gunships out of one thousand were lost, as I regroup the remaining nine hundred and fifty to begin raping enemy one's base. His sams take down a fair amount of gunships, around eighty to ninety, but before he can launch a nuke on himself in an attempt to decimate my forces I take down his nuke launcher. Before he knows it I kill his ACU (armored command unit) and it goes about its meltdown as I move my gunships away so they don't get caught in the resulting nuclear explosion. The other three teammates begin making anti-air units and towers (having already seen my force of one thousand gunships even before I took down their fourth man). Now of course I wouldn't halt my unit production while I'm attacking right? I check my base to find around fifty to sixty brand new gunships to be sent in with the first group. I figure I would destroy their third player before withdrawing and forming a new plan for the last two since by the time I'd get done they would have massive anti-air defenses. Well, as I quickly finish off guy number three, his two teammates hit us with a surprising five nukes... They head towards me of course, and my two anti-nuke launchers couldn't handle all five missiles... Two get taken out by each anti-nuke as the fifth one hits my base dead on. My newly made gunships escape safely, and my ACU is off in the corner building tech three energy generators and mass fabricators so he's also safe. Even though I knew that we would win at this point, having a nuke hit my base wasn't too enjoyable... Nonetheless it just made the fight more epic, as I gather the force of gunships and join forces with my three teammate's ground forces to slowly advance on guy number two. Our fatboys begin firing their battleship cannons at long range as enemy assault bots close in to stop us. I had set my gunships to assist, so they did their job and protected the fatboys from pretty much all of the enemies attacks as we finally got to the outside of his base, and blow up his ACU from afar. The nuclear blast takes out half of his defenses and defensive units, allowing me to fly in and get rid of the scraps, leaving guy one... Having watched three of his teammates get blown up, he blew his whole economy on making millions of shield generators and artilaries which we finally began noticing... I tried to send some gunships but he had also built up many sams which slowed my advance and forced me to turn back. One of my teammates tells me to try again, except this time look for his anti-nuke and get rid of it since we had our own nukes to launch. I agree and fly right through his sams, taking heavy losses. Inside his base I had to blast through six shield generators before I could even reach the first anti-nuke, and by the time I had blown it up half of my gunships were gone. I start pounding away at his second one and right as it blows up my last gunship falls to the ground. Only one anti-nuke remained, but with the combined force of three nuke launchers from my teammates, we knew that victory was imminent. I watch each missile slowly ascend from its hole and zoom out to see them group up. Two were launched from each launcher, making for a total of six with a slight delay. As they begin descending all four of us watch as the first three dissapear, but the other three, having been asigned key points in the final enemies base, all touched down. I utilized the camera panning feature to watch the three mushroom clouds from as many angles as I could before they dissapeared, and our offensive force finally rolled in and took him out...
That is my most epic battle to date, and if my old computer hadn't died I would have the replay to show to everyone...
Very sad face...
Even more so when I tried to play Supreme Commander recently and found out that it no longer worked online for me... Nevermind the long battles, I could find time for them, but finding games and players who didn't quit was pretty damn difficult, and it's this battle alone that cemented my love for the game... I really want to get back into it.
