Ya :p that post wasn't meant to be as complaining trolling **** bag dick head as it sounded. Far be it from be to tell you what to like so for the record there are some good final fantasy soundtracks out there in FF7 and FF9 few in FF10 . Otherworld was awesome but misused with its heavy tone were other scores are more chill and piano based

Also I play guitar, bass, piano and played drums so I am no stranger to the music world <---- more of the **** bag showing up again LOLz

My number one rule (with music and most other things) is :
You like your crap and I like my crap. Sort of agree to disagree because no matter how many people troll or yell and complain(ME) its not going to change your mind or mine or anyone else's.

As for the "its not rock its metal" can we agree on hard rock LOLz.
Best way to do it, I know from years of experience I can't expect everyone to agree with me on what sounds good, I just like what I like and so does everyone else.

It's definitely metal. I'm just saying that the sort of night I DJ at we don't really care what genre it is as long as it's pretty good.

Wait... How do you imbed a youtube video on this site?
You use the (youtube=???????) command where the ( are replaced by the more square [ brackets and the question marks are replaced by the code at the end of the video's URL. If you hit quote on one of the posts with an embedded video you can see the code in action.

I don't care what the general consensus is about the game, if you don't like the sound track, you deserve to be brought out into the street and shot.

Seeing that no-one will remember to bring it up, if anyone else on these forums has ever even played the game, I'm going to bring Ghost Master to the table. The entire soundtrack, while maybe not being an easy listen has some brilliant piece that capture the crazy style and mood of the game perfectly. Love it.
If anyone's interested, check out these other tracks: The Ghoul Room, Ghost Action 1-4 and Danse Macabre. Fun stuff!
Soundtracks I also love; Halo, Kingdom Hearts I & II, The Elder Scrolls (Jeremy Soule did a FANTASTIC job), the Age of:- games have a very cool set of sounds, and finally you've got to love the Orange Box. Tbh, I love a lot of music from games. They can be pretty epic. I actually have the soundtracks I listed above. Makes me happy.

Guild Wars had one of the best soundtracks I can remember. That kind of stuff is really important to an MMO, when it's you against a beautifully crafted and deep world.
Awesomely epic ambiental music combined with stunning visuals made the experience for me.

Epic theme song for the second game, with Asian motifs:

For the idyllic tutorial area (which is going to get fucked up soon so you'd better enjoy it while you can):

For the ancient desert, rich with history and secrets:

For lonely snowy environments:

For the ancient stone forest:

Here's hoping that the music for the upcoming Guild Wars 2 will be as awesome!

I'm going to stay away from any answers I've given in past threads.

Therefore: Project Diva 2nd.
With an honorable mention to Persona 1, although the (updated? I never played the PS1 version so it's hard to tell if they changed it) soundtrack is iffy, the OP is fantastic:
[sub]Previous answers: Baldur's Gate 2, Persona 3, Persona 4, Rez, Folklore, Bayonetta, Wipeout, Maken X/Shao[/sub]

Portal 2 has a great soundtrack and so does Extreme G. Old school soundtrack vs. new school soundtrack.

First, a very old game - so old the music is MIDI - but none the less amazing for it.
Then a very nice "exploring" type theme.

Final Fantasy VII. Check out the Best-of-all-Time battle theme, "Figthing", the much-beloved "One-Winged Angel", "The Countdown Begins", any of the character or group themes, and, of course, the "Main Theme".
