Any attack that stunblocks you, preventing you from moving or doing anything, which then recharges faster than you can break out of it. Alternatively, giving stunblock moves to enemy types that are designed to attack en masse.

So frustrating.

My biggest pet peeve in not just bosses but enemies in general would be when they don't flinch from your attacks, meaning they can just swing on you whenever they damn well please. It makes me feel so weak!

So the power of un-flinching.
Also this. Even worse when combined with the above mentioned stun block moves. Talk about impossible enemies.

The ability to take a dozen heat shots to the face and not even blink, Human Revolution is a particularly bad offender.

What agitates me the most is enemy powers designed to destroy/steal your magic/technique power. MP Sapping/Stealing abilities. Often, those powers exist in a game where items that restore it are incredibly expensive.

As an example, I went back to playing Earthbound recently and found myself running back and forth between Twoson and the valley between it and Happy-Happy village. The Mobile Sprouts there have PSI Magnet, a PP-Stealing move. Combine this with fairly decent striking enemies, the ability to catch colds (Which work like poison in Earthbound), the fact that the only cures are Cold Remedies (Which take up valuable and very limited inventory space) or PSI Healing, which needs that PP they're stealing, AND that PP is also needed for healing against the damage being taken, and you will find yourself swearing at the sight of those little plants on screen.

At this point, there is ONE way to restore PP outside a good night's rest, and it's chance-related. And these are COMMON enemies right now. Not even bosses!

The fat ugly bastard which first poisons, then he activates AOE and then pulls you next to him with AOE still active, I can't remember Heros name or the abilities but if you aren't a Strength hero with maximum HP and 2 levels above him you can't FUCKING SURVIVE!!!
yeah... something like this that you're looking for??

Yunalesca's Megadeath in FFX, or any of those one-hit-kill attacks. Gawd.
Remember the first fight with Seymore? In one move turns a party member to stone and uses shatter all in one turn. One-hit Kll every time and immunity against petrificatiln does nothing to stop it.

long winded reason why The Trumpeter sucks
I never had a real issue with him, but i had the benefit of the 'bible' sized strat guide, so I knew 'hard and fast' would be the order of the day, which was my general 'go-to' strat over all.

untill The Tower of Kagutschi and Noah -.- i hate this fucker, seirusly, FUCK THIS BOSS. now bear in mind i had already cleared the Labyrinth of Alma, which means beaten Beelzebub and The Metatron. (yes, Nocturne has the voice of god as a boss, and is playable character afterward, and in case your wondering, yes, he's a beast :D)

Noah's first stage fell easily enough, then we got stage 2 -.- and the most dragged out, chore of a fight in the whole bloody game, and dealing with Naoh's 'weakness swapping' (READ: only way to do any meaningful damage) while the weaknesses are changed on a predictable pattern he dose it ever turn and unless you know the pattern (i think there was a tell of some sort but its been a long times since that fight, and srsly, fuck him -.-) your pretty much left with tanking his attacks untill the elements you have on hand are effective, oh and the non elemental 'Almighty' class of attacks -.- they do dick damage , 10% of normal and everything else he's not weak to, including your basic attack, repel (the damage bounces back and hits you instead) Lucifer was easier to bring down -.-

tl/dr weakness swapping and ridicules defenses

In Skyward Sword, I hated the demon mosnter things that had those ancient electric weapons. You'd get stunned every time they block you.

It became so annoying that I started to use my bow to kill them while they were only 2 feet away.

Dullahan attacki move "Djinn Storm" in Golden Sun 2.
Djinn are like creature with ability and also affect your stats depending if you character is using that Djinn. Having one assign to that character affect his or her stats. So the move Djinn Storm force all the assign Djinn on all the characters to reset therefore putting the stats to the basic. This leave you vunerable to his next attack which is usually a summon move so you're pretty much scred. (All of my hate!)

The ability to avoid anything you try on them.

The one that set me off about this: groups of Templar Jannisaries on Assassin's Creed Revelations. You get into a fight with about 4 of them, right? You try hitting them: Blocked. Try grabbing: Blocked. Try kicking to open up a space to attack: Blocked.

Plus they can use pistols so while you're desperately wailing on one of them to stop him retreating and shooting you, the other ones are all doing it.

I'm sure there is some strategy beyond just "calling in Assassins to do the work for you" but I'll be fucked if I know what it is.

Honestly I absolutely loathe any enemy that heals partially off the damage they do to you. Especially if that attack is residual like leech seed. I've lost so many battles because of leech seed. I can't stand it when I see any potential seeders getting ready to leech my current pokemon then stall me with it. Oh and I also hate instant death of course...

Sephiroth In Kingdom Hearts 2... alomst all of his attacks were fucking cheap; Not unblock able/unavoidable, just really fucking annoying in the timing and everything.

Hits you with combo that takes you to 1/10th of your HP. You get away, and while hes slowly walking on the other side of the arena you use Heal. DURING your Healing animation, you can't move/block, and he ALWAYS teleports right in front of me and takes away the last speck of my hp in 1 swipe.

That, and his Sin Heartless Angel move (Which puts you at 1hp and drains all your Mp)

Ninja Gaiden 2. Either of the unlocked abilities. Grenade shurikens. Anyone who's been there will agree, there is no worse thing in the whole world.

Arrows in Skyrim. I'm probably 'doing it wrong', but I've made a 100% magic user, put every point into Magicka, and I can blow things up fairly well as I've almost completely filled out the Destruction skill tree. I'm level 29.

Swords, I can handle a blow, and usually running backwards while throwing firebolts solves that problem. Magic, it's really bright, I can dodge bright objects heading my way. But arrows lately have been EVIL. They're killing me in 1-2 hits and it takes me longer to find the bastards shooting them at me.
