Ow? What? Did you just trip and hurt yourself or something? For fuck's sake, you say 'Ow!' when you stub your toe or something. It makes no sense to put the 'w' in lieu of the 'h'.

Milk. I like milk, but the word just sounds awful. the 'ilk' sound, yek, say 'Milk' about 10 times and tell me it doesn't sound horrible.

I know they wanted to sound more futuristic but the word just sounds weird

Not really the word as much as the connotation, but 'tolerance'.

I hate it when it is said that different cultures must learn to live in tolerance of each other. It makes it sound like they're pulling their punches. I would prefer the word 'acceptance'.

I tolerate your right to say that sir.

My God, put in italics and I'd seem like I'm seething. "Acceptance" is a far better substitute.


I hate the word "Golly." Most people can't pull it off in the way it's supposed to be don, a la Boris Johnson.

Maybe it's just the people who tend to use it, especially as they typically have really grating accents. Whatever, it's just... Eugh.
