I can't think of a favorite one right now but my most hated cliche is the obligatory love interest.

Edit: I think my favorite is the one where the hero or the supporting characters come at the last minute to save someone.

Liked: Can't think of one.
Disliked: It was all a dream/nothing that happened in the film actually matters by the end.

Least Favorite: Gamers are basement-dwellers who only come out at night to kidnap women and buy junk food to add to their corpulent masses.

Favorite?
I dunno. Probably the trencher, the guy in the trenchcoat that comes out of nowhere and saves Sarah Connor from the T-800.

Likes:

The main character getting their girl/guy as long as it isn't too cheesy. It's nice to end on a positive, as long as it's not detrimental to the story overall. Bittersweet endings are more believable.

Dislikes:

When you get two characters who dislike each other and spend the whole time mocking and sniping but in end up falling in love. It's tiresome.

Overly-aggressive-machismo male characters with "A heart of gold". They should either be tough but decent overall, if a little bit of a bastard (Marcus Fenix in Gears of War) or "normal" but capable of kicking ass when necessary (Ezio from Assassins Creed).

That's not a cliche, that's a stereotype.

Dislike: The fact that the main guy is perfect/so lucky/amazing at fighting/lovable in every way (According to the adoring fans) or a combination of them.

Enjoyed clichés: ... Sorry, can't think of anyone.

Hated Clichés: The "good guys" always have to win in movies, books and even quite a few videogames. I'd like to see the good guy get brutally murdered and the villian to actually be able to take over the world sometime. It would be a breath of fresh air...

DISLIKE DISLIKE DISLIKE: Almost every JRPG has the following cast of characters:

- Brooding boyish hero
- Girl obsessed with hero, even though he is a miserable person and oblivious to her interest
- The hulking tough guy with the heart of gold and a soft spot for something cute
- Obnoxiously cute animal sidekick

Valkyria Chronicles is my number one offender, although there are many, many others.

Yes, but it's become a cliche to depict them us in a stereotypical way.
Get what I'm saying?

Hate both
That the good guy is a noble, selfless, heroic, capable with every weapon theu use, handsome, kind and all that other stuff that us mere mortals cannot be all at once.

That the bad guy is a dastardly, selfish, evil, must use minions, ugly or otherwise not good looking, mean all the time.

Sometimes I want a good guy to be flawed and not always nice. John Marston was a step in the right direction though.

Wow.
You managed to make Marcus Fenix actually not be a terrible character.
I congratulate you.

Loved Cliche: Only in the realm of fantasy, the love conquers all kind of ending (Wall-E, Princess Bride sort of way)

Hated Cliche: I actually hate scenes where people rally to fight against something and they do a forced "Who's With me?" speech. It's silly and yeah, it moves the movie, but really, it makes me feel embarrassed when I see something like that. That goes doubly for Every scene in Braveheart that does it.

My favourite? This:http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheCavalry
There's something about heroic and awesome last minute salvation that I really like.
(Technically that's a trope rather than a cliche - there's a substantial difference.)
Least favourite? I hate the thief with a heart of gold thing.

Worst: When a nerdy character in a movie or show demonstrates great skill in driving or shooting or something, and when asked replies "I learned that from (insert game here)"

Best: Space-faring Rednecks, they always crack me up

Hmm, I wonder if René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo didn't beat the JRPG's to that with their comic books about Asterix and Obelix.

I mean, consider Obelix for a moment. He's of a hulking build, he's a sort of "tough guy" (I mean he beats up roman legionnaires by the truckload :p), he's got a heart of gold (he's never outright mean, even when he fights romans, but more do it as a sort of game) and he's got a soft spot for something cute (his tiny little dog Dogmatix).

And he popped up in the early 60's, decades before the first JRPG.

The plot thickens! XD
