Me and some friends were discussing this subject a while ago and I was wondering,
What is your most memorable gaming moment?
By this I mean to say: out of all games you ever played, what were the moments you still remember as awesome, shocking, terrifying, hard or extremely funny?
Mine were probably the haunted house level in Timesplitters 3 ( when i played the game i was very young and easily scared.) and completing Gears of War 2's last level on Insane ( halfway through the game i got stuck at some parts and i died A LOT ).

COD2 when it was still a great IP.
Set my first playthru to the hardest difficulty to feel the fear!
The most memorable moment was that level when, as a Russian grunt, you had to advance on a well defended townhall, to eventually demolish it.
I vividly remember scrabbling around in the mud, finding a shell-crater to hide in, quivering with terror as an enfilade of Hitlers Buzzsaws spewed whizzing death inches over my head.
"I'll just rest here for a moment.", I thought. "Steel my nerve. Perhaps they will have to swap out their barrels."
But fear sapped my limbs of their will to move and I Just lay in the mud, listening to the agonized screams of my brave, advancing comrades as they were mowed down all about me.

But wait..! What was that?! A woman's scream?!?

Not only were my courageous Russian brothers falling, but sisters too??
This was too much!
Outrage and horror quickly replaced fear, and my fingers gripped my rifle with renewed strength, tempered with the urge for vengance! I leaped from my hiding place and threw myself at the fascist stronghold with the ferocity of a bear...!!

THAT is how you make a videogame..

Probably Persona 3 my first time encountering Death (grim reaper). I nearly crapped myself because when the support character said "I sense something...IT MUST BE DEATH" I thought she was saying that because my HP was low. Nope turns out The Reaper is just a supremely over-powered motherf***er. (P.S. I was level 45 so don't say "Lawl man, I was able to kill Teh Reaper soooo eazily!")

Well, I'll get Aeris' death in FFVII out of the way. The only time I ever shed a tear of sadness while gaming.

But my most memorable moment was a LAN multi-player Counter-Strike match against my friends. My friend, who was a camper, had been dominating the match in a sniper-friendly map. Late in the game, I managed to sneak behind him without noticing and said out loud, "Hey [friend], look up!" He swung his character around to shoot me but I put 3 bullets into the back of his skull. And we laughed and laughed at his expense.

Well the first time I met my friend we were playing DDO. He was playing a rogue and he's a nice lad and means well but the idea of theorycrafting is alien to him.
So we were in this dungeon and he goes off scouting down the hallway. Theres a MASSIVE explosion and he's knocked unconcious.
He says: 'I found a trap.'

We haven't let him live it down.

Jedi Knight Deathmatch. 1 on 1 against my best friend, in LAN of course. He was fed up with losing, so he made me use only the Force and lightsaber, because the Concussion Rifle was so overpowered. Mind, he already lost to a force-less weapons-only me, so there you go.

He stands at the end of an alley, ConcRifle ready, waiting, silently. I charge at him, he waits with shooting. JUST as he fires, I Force-jump over him, unleash the high-lvl Lightning I had charged up, land behind him and finish him with a saberstroke.

His shot didn't even scratch me.

For me it was while playing Wipeout Fusion. I can't remember which course it was but I took this huge jump at top speed just as there was a break in the song, just as I land the music kicks back in. Awesome moment that I've never forgotten

Becoming a lag ninja on Halo 3 multi team on king of the hill.

My lag was awful. To everyone else I seemed to teleport as my friend told me.
Me, I was punching people in the face getting assassinations.

OR

When it was Bungie day when they said there'd be oppurtunities for Recon armour.

I got 6 medals whilst dead, from a triple kill form the grave, in a game where it was 4 vs 4.
Guy beat me down, but as he did I casually stuck a grenade to his shoulder. Then he promptly ran over to two teammates as if to say "Hai guise", then they all blew up.

Uncharted 2 multiplayer:

1) Winning a deathmatch despite being outnumbered 5 to 2.

2) Getting 25 kills (the most in that game) in another deathmatch...and my team still lost!

3) Surviving a grenade blast that killed two members of the opposing team right in front of me.

Resident Evil 5:

Getting the "Take it to the Max" trophy on that blonde chick had me and my brother high-fiving each other.

I remember a couple of gears games where my team would get slaughtered within the first minute, and then the hit and run warfare of trying to take out an entire enemy team. Feels really good when you do.

Also more recently, beating Goro and Kintaro in the new Mortal Kombat...What arseholes -.-

It would have to be Tales of the Abyss, the last cut-scene:

skip to 1:40
It's just so emotional. The song that plays when she sees Luke/Asch is called Emotions, Overflowing(I think) and it makes me tear up EVERYTIME

During my first few months on having xbox, I was playing halo online with some friends. I was running around and the suddenly, BAM! I got destroyed by a spartan laser.

Right after it happened I heard one of my friends say "Whoa! That guy just got owned" I told them that the guy who got owned was me, and then there were many lulz.

That one would be tied with one time when I was playing border patrol on COD 4 with some friends. One of the runners got shot and someone yelled "Mexican down!" I don't know why we found that so funny, but we did.

The recent Gears beta will be a fond memory, as it's the first time I've had proper fun on a mutiplayer game in awhile. The ending of Mass Effect 2 was also awesome watching the team escape and knowing they all made it. Finally, the underwater base level in timesplitters was absolutely epic, espically with the music.

The end battle in FFVII. I was 7 when I got to that part... after 6 hours where I was sitting and biting my covers from rage, I finally beat him.

My Modern Warfare 1 game froze. And it froze on the best spot ever when my friend was over.

it stopped on Price's mustache shot. we looked at it for three hours straight until noticing until we thought 'omg the game froze'
