Sometimes when playing video-games, eating, watching tv, your pets, the neighbors, you get really, really, really angry. What was it? What did you do?

I actually had two. One was last night when i played XCOM and i lost my best medic (Santa) to two chryssalids. It happened because 3 of my guys missed their reaction shots and my sniper missed a 95% headshot. The resulting zombie medic ran over to my assault guy and chowed down. Killed him too.

The other was 20 minutes later when i went to get some food. I heated up some old spaghetti, dropped the bowl and the bowl bounced on the floor, covering my kitchen floor, my walls and part of the ceiling with sauce.

I never felt that much rage in my life.

So, what's yours?

I rarely get worked up about games now annoyed sometimes but never as wound up as I used to get as a child. I have only Rage Quit twice this gen (sorry last gen) and both were to fighting game bosses the first was Alpha Kasumi in DOA4 (she fine in 5 to fight though) and the other was Seth in Street Fighter 4.

Neither I had a problem with when playing as my mains but as soon as I sub in someone else things get difficult and it makes me not want to try other characters which is a shame. I think what annoys me about them most though is their design I hate their design and I hate losing to things that I hate the design of. Damn so much rage I just had to turn them of and chill for a bit which is a promise I made to myself at the start of the 360/PS3/Wii gen to do and I have kept to it since. Before I would carry on until I won but I would get no satisfaction from it and continue to be pissed off.

Most Rage I have ever felt in my life towards a game is easily Donkey Kong Country on the SNES even thinking about it now makes me want to smash things I have never hated a game so much in my life and I havent played it in 19 years I think now, I actually dont know how the game is still intact.

I just rage quit Infamous: Gods Among us last night. I'm on the second to last opponent now, and it is Doomsday. I can usually beat Doomsday no problem, except his speed, damage, and OP as hell ability appears to have increased in power. Before I can even get in an attack he has me down to my final health bar. Once he beat me three times in a row I just shut my PS3 off and went to bed.

The difficulty rise from Aquaman to Doomsday is astronomical. It's insane. I fear me eventual battle with superman.

Dark Souls. The game is difficult, but even when I try to take my time and stuff, I always die. I've gotten enough tips for you guys, and my character isn't totally screwed, but I used my fire keeper soul (or whatever the Estus flaskus upgrading thingy is called) the wrong way so I'm 10 hours in and it still isn't upgraded. Since I know the first part of the game better, I'm gonna try a new character. I'm having a lot of fun, but ai can only play for about an hour before I get frustrated.

Most recent was Minecraft on SP survival.
Didn't remember to unload my character after some construction and accidentally carried a load of redstone equipment, a few blocks of Obsidian and some bloody diamond into the Nether, and then got blown into a gigantic fucking lava lake by a Ghast.
My own fault, still infuriating though!

Ah, Dark Souls. Smough and Ornstein. I was so close but these guys can clip through the walls, clip through the floors, clip through the pillars. Yet you don't, funny how that works. Don't get me wrong I like the game but at this point I'm seriously noticing some irritating flaws. Mainly a case of one rule for you and another for the guys you're fighting coupled with invisible walls that can prohibit strategy (which strangely only prevented me from shooting arrows but the enemy who shot at me - his arrow went through the invisible wall) and so on. I can't tell you how much it pisses me off when I clearly dodge an attack yet get hit by it despite being behind the enemy or too far away to be plausibly hit.

It's even more annoying when you see all these asshats saying 'Ooh, I did eet in mee first try!' or 'I'm going to pretend you're an idiot because I didn't suffer clipping issue or detection issues in my game. Huh duh.'

Yes, I know all about Solaire. No, I don't want to have to play online.

Actually I did have one cool moment with S&0. I inadvertently placed myself between them only to get whacked by both of them at the same time. That was pretty cool.

Honestly I was enjoying the game up until these guys. Even Blight Town which had some odd things (things to me that looked like walkways or places you could jump down but lead to instant death instead and really poor lighting) was less annoying.

The reason it annoys me so much is because I know what to do.

I really hope they've improved some of this crap in the sequel because it's too late for me to cancel my pre-order.

Demon's Souls, after having got pretty far and really enjoying the game I was repeatedly invaded by a high-level melee troll. I have no time for that.

BioShock Infinite. Minor spoilers ahoy.

Picked up from just after you catch up with Elizabeth after she gets in a pissy with you for trying to take her to America.
Doing great, doing fine. 3 hours go by, I get to the part where Elizabeth kills that woman before she can kill that guy's son.
I press X to comfort her, Elizabeth then jolts upright and stares into space for a few minutes.
Obviously the game bugged out. I go to the menu, select return to checkpoint so I can try again.

I then find myself standing back at the point where I'd just caught up with Elizabeth after the airship incident. I panic and try reloading my save, it takes me to the same point.
Controller, meet floor at jet velocity.

I was going to say titanfall, as it's more CoD than I like, and I'm more of a Rainbow Six player.

... But right now, it might be Far Cry 3. Not even playing, mind you. Installing.

It downloaded last night. I tried to play it at 3:40, and it said it needed to install. It's 4:12 now, and I had to download two patches already. And now, it's asking for another fucking patch.

Why do we give so much hate to Origin when UPlay makes Origin look like a system built by gamers, for gamers. This is the worst shoestring system I have ever seen, and I haven't downloaded proxies this much since the 90's...

I can't really remember one recently, I suppose whenever some random bullshit happens in XCOM I do tend to immediately alt-F4. Like that one mission in the fishing village that must catch almost everyone off guard, there's two zombies hiding like little bastards towards the start so you set up your guys like normal then one breaks out of a shed and immediately oneshots my shotgun guy. Nope, fuck that. I'm done. Done! Nope!

I do see people ragequit (well, rage conceding) in Hearthstone though. There was this one guy who on turn 4 or 5 who played Blessings of Kings (+4/4 on a minion) onto a Guru Berserker (that 2/7 that gets more attack when it gets hurt) my Counterspell Secret stopped it and he immediately quit. Who says Mages are easy mode decks? Full skill plays right there.

We both had full hands and he was full health and had more minions on the field. Jesus, god forbid your main battle plan be stopped by a single card, better just give up now.

When it eventually downloads, you might give Ziggy's mod [http://www.nexusmods.com/farcry3/mods/63/] a try. It's pretty comprehensive, though, so I guess it makes more sense to download it after having played through the game once already.

OT: The only thing that really gets under my skin in games these days is progress-blocking glitches. If it's someone else being disagreeable, I'd rather just log off and spend some time in single-player mode to cool down. The bots occasionally do the most incompetent and amusing things, which is a bonus.

Off the top of my head, I'd say my last rage quit was in League of Legends. They are extremely few and far between, but most of them happen when I'm jungling.
If you're not familiar with LoL, then just keep in mind there's a certain... tradition in losing teams. Everything is the jungler's fault, and he should be flamed accordingly.

This case went past my limits because early on I was being invaded, and both mid and top laners refused to respond, causing me to be set back quite a bit.
After that it's rather hard to stomach being blamed for their inability to win their own lane.

This situation itself is all too common, but on very rare occasions it'll get to me on a personal level. Either it'll cause me to swear profanely at my cat and/or monitor, or I'll simply leave because I can't be bothered to sacrifice my sanity to a video game.

I just rage quit dark souls last night. Usually dark souls doesn't frustrate me enough to make me rage quit, because I go in fully knowing that it's a hard game, and therefore I expect to die, so dying doesn't really bother me all that much. Last night though, I rage quit because I upgraded the wrong armor set, and it was entirely my fault.

After ringing the second bell of awakening I had about 30,000 souls on me, so I went to the blacksmith in Undead Perish, bought a ton of titanite shards and upgraded my armor. Problem was, I wanted to upgrade my elite knight armor, but accidentally upgraded my knight armor instead. So now I have to go farm some souls so I can buy another 18 titanite shards to upgrade the CORRECT armor. I was so mad at myself I totally rage quit the game for the rest of the night.

Dark Souls 2 - Died three or four times against the second boss (Pursuer Knight). Rerolled as a new character the next day and completely skipped that part. I'm having a ton of trouble with dodges.
