When blowing up Megaton did not yield an equal number of missions. There I was thinking the developers that give two distinct paths (Good and Evil) would make them equal. Nope. Blowing up Megaton gives you about 3 missions with Tenpenny Tower, as opposed to all the missions you get in the Survival Book chain alone. And me without a save point prior. Sad day.
Well to be fair you can continue the survivor book if you nuke Megaton. You just have to meet up with Moria in Underworld.

Though it;s pretty lame that nuking Megaton is the only thing you do with Mr.Burk and Tenpenny. I thought you would have a whole chain of evil missions to do.
You can? I may have accidentally killed her then, since when Mr. Burke told me to go kill that leader guy I got a little trigger happy.

When a guy came up to me with a gun demanding I hand over some underwear I found.

Needless to say his head came off quite nicely.

My most suprising moment was the first time I encountered a Super Mutant Behemoth, mostly because I didn't see it before it hit me >.<

All these Fallout 3 threads are making me regret selling the game

My first encounter with a deathclaw. He just came up behind me and killed me with one shot.

My most suprising moment was when the end cutscenes finished and I realised that the game had, indeed, ended.

I was surprised because the ending was horrible and instantly made me stop playing it. It also made me feel like everything I had done in the game was a complete waste of my time.

I guess all games are a waste of time, but this more-so. I was not a happy bunny.

When I stumbled across the raider compound with the super human behemoth in the middle. Watching that thing get out after you open the fence and bring death to the raiders was very satisfying.

With a raider charging towards me, I miss four 95%-accuracy Alien Blaster headshots in a row. They're just about to hit me with a club when a missile flys out from behind him, hitting the raider dead in the back and sending bloody chunks in every direction.

My favorite moment was when I found a girl(I dont remember who exactly) that was in the vault in the beginning roaming the Wastes. That impressed me a little bit.
Where did you see her? I think you might have come across Amata.

I'm not trolling. Fallout 3 was an enjoyable game, and I was honestly very surprised at the ending.

The OP never mentioned anything about the surprise being "fun" or "good". A surprise is a surprise, good or bad.

I gave it to him then killed him and hacked off his limbs before taking the underwear and his caps back

I'm not sure if this guy is always by Super-Duper Mart, but there was this one merchant who was fucking STONED OUT OF HIS MIND. I go up to talk to him and he's saying shit like, "The world is GREEN." And then he dies. I have no idea what that was all about. It kinda freaked me out.

After all the hype around Dogmeat and having all that willpower with him I was surprised how long it took to find him and when I did I accidentally without thinking fired the weapon at hand (Nuke) at the gang of raiders going after him.

He appears at random times. He should have had a map that tells you where Oasis is.

I'm pretty sure if you fuck up Vault 101, she and the other vault dwellers are forced into the wastes. You can then encounter her later on being threatened by the enclave.
Are you playing the XBOX 360 version with the downloads?
No, I'm playing the PC version. I don't have any downloads, but right now I'm downloading Broken Steel and Point Lookout. I read the thing about Amata here [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Trouble_on_the_Homefront]

"I'm only going to say this one time; GIVE ME THE NAUGHTY NIGHTWEAR!"

That was probably the weirdest unmarked quest.

Without a doubt the Hallucinagenic sequence in Point Lookout.

It was not just wonderfully demented and scary but also pretty emotionally harrowing when you
find your dead mother's corpse
.

Also I can't belive how many fucking web critics are ruining this moment by giving away all its details in thier reviews. Idiots.
