while Yahtzee has good points I think its silly some peopel are like "ohh yahtzee hated it..so do I!!" seriously the hates everything...well not really hes just playing it up for entertainment

I mean take darksiders, he wasnt too fond of that, but it was understandable, the amount of games he has to play it takes somthing a little more special to get any good points, and stuff thats inbetween is just "meh"

but for me I love Darksiders, its apealing to me and my gaming habits and I honestly think its great

anyway for me Its a google search look at the stars on IGN then my own opinion and experience...simple

oh and god keep away from the forums

Myself.
I only watch reviews from different sites to get an slight idea about a game and wheter or not it interests me.
I must say that the least trusted reviewers would be every single one from gamespot.
yeah they sometimes give a fair score, and sometimes they just overly praise a game and sometimes they give The Silent Hill 2 review to a sports fan with no brain as a 'joke'.
that sir, is far away from professionalism. and gamespot should die. :V
And it is most definetly not yahtzee either.
he hates JRPGS with such blindness...

I don't really follow any online reviewers anymore. I watch Yahtzee for fun, but when he speaks about a game I've actually played it kinda grates, since half of what he says is just non-sequitur bullshit.

As for reviewers tho, I'm a pretty strong follower of Bajo and Hex on Good Game. I'd say about 95% of the time what they say is pretty much on par with what I reckon about the games they review, so I trust them more than anyone.

If your answer isn't Yahtzee you're wrong.

good or bad Yahtzee's honest.
I actually find his reviews rather awful. There have been several videos where he will bring up an "issue" with a game, and after I have played said game, have found that A) There was a reason that he didn't mention on purpose B) It wasn't that big of an issue or C) The issue wasn't really there.

If you base all your purchases on Yahtzee's reviews, you should only have like 6 game in your library.

Oh and he can't make up his mind about what he really wants from games. Bullet Storm comes to mind. He said countless times he wanted a fun shooter not based in reality. Then he gets one. And he complains about how they cuss alot. This from the guy who uses the word "cunting".
Yahtzee's exaggerations don't go unnoticed for me.
But Bulletstorm is only fun if you never played Pain Killer.
And that's one of the things I like about Yahtzee he's not afraid to play a game that came out over a year ago.

I've rented all the games I suspected he may have been unfair too and there wasn't a single time where I thought he was wrong. I love Mirror's Edge but everything he said about it was accurate

Angry Joe Show

I don't always play the games he reviews, but I respect his opinion, he makes it clear that it's his opinion, he focuses both on the pros and the cons, he's very specific as to why something is wrong, and he uses a much more believable version of the ten-star system (using 5 as "average" and always clarifying just in case). Furthermore, if I was to classify him under a mission statement, it would be "To try and help the industry by weeding out the core flaws".

When Jim Sterling does a negative review, it's usually a bad game. Destructoid is pretty decent overal.
When I want to know about CRPGS, Vault Dweller on the Codex is critical enough.

Yahtzee is good for picking out the problems in an action game even if his vids are mostly entertainment. I usually agree with his complaints.

Finally, a low metacritic aggregate user score is a fair warning also.

These are enough to seperate the mediocre titles from games above the average.

I 'trust' Yahtzee' insofar as what he says he actually means. Unless he's using sarcasm or irony, in which case he means what he's not saying.
That and a lot of the things he's picked up on have been things I've noticed in said games - if not in quite the same way.
