I can actually say that the everything in europe one comes from one grandparent.... She researched her family tree back to when the monastaries started keeping records.... 700 years ago?

I'm half Welsh, quarter French and quarter English. However, living 9 years in Broadstairs, Kent, and then 10 years in Durham/York, I've got quite an unusual accent as a result. The majority of people I've met in the past year say I sound Canadian when they first meet me. Heh, I have no idea how...

I am the dirty water French that interbread
with the Native Americans while coming down
the Mississippi river to live in Louisiana.

(Also I don't know where the dirty water comes
from, but every time I hear my heritage I think
of dirty water.)

I am 50% English, 25% Dutch and the other 25% is a mess that includes French, Spanish, Irish and Welsh. But both my parents were born and grew up in South Africa, I was born on Tortola, British Virgin Islands (Caribbean) and have lived most of my live in America....only the most recent 4 yrs in UKdom!

Thats what people get when they ask where i'm from or ask about my accent! ha

My father's side is more or less 100% Swedish as far as I know.

My mothers side is a bit more diverse. On this side I have Valonian, German and Finland-Swede (Swedes that lives in Finland. Finland has a relatively large Swedish population because the country belonged to Sweden for around 600 years) in my ancestry. I probably have some Finnish blood in me as well.
