May i say i am amazed at the level of nerdyness present. Not a bad thing but the nerdiest thing i can think of when i think of myself is always having a pen with me, even when i don't know i have one.

I seriously thought I was a nerd before I looked at this thread (not really, my head is far too swelled to allow any term which could be derogatory) but actually I can't really compare. My reasons:

I am OBSESSED with Zeppelins, I love the things.

I fence every week (foil)

I read books in amounts that must be measured in tonnes.

I write on forums (didn't see that one coming)

I can recite the whole of the To Be Or Not To Be Soliliquy. Or Jabberwock.

I read that series as well and felt bad for Thick myself. But I was even more moved by certain events in the Wheel of Time series, such as Moraine's letter to Rand after her encounter with Lanfear at Cairhein and Perrin coming back to Emond's Field after the Whitecloaks had got to his family.

That last one especially got to me.

I don't know that I have a particularly nerdy trait. (I did play a lot fo tabletop RPGs when I was younger and still do once in a while.) I am proud to say I'm just a big dork in general. Although I have read The aforementioned series literaly dozens of times. I read it every time a new book is about to come out and usually a couple of times in between.

I don't remember ever crying reading the wheel of time, I think its because of the thirds perspective, I felt sad at those moments but more like a awkward witness then part of it, I almost cried a lot during the Farseers because the 1st person view was so personal.

I do remember moments that made me shiver with the sheer awesomeness and punch my fist in the air. When Nynaeve recruits the Malkeri survivors and the guy goes from cynical, to swearing to follow Lan.

I only read the first two trilogies and the collection of tales.

Probably technology in general for me, I've wound up with many consoles on my shelf because of it. Recently I bought a Sega CD because it's something that's escaped my collection for ages (price, didn't know there were any good games besides Sonic CD). But basically yeah, technology is my nerd trait/weakness.

I seem to be a relatively normal person....but I'm a massive Star Wars nerd and I love reading manga or watching anime. I find many of the story-lines far superior to anything the west has come up with.
