I really can't think of anything coming out this year that I want. Something will come up, but I'm drawing a blank. It's looking like a year of working through my backlog and replaying old games. I'm fine with that.

EDIT: Oh! The Kickstarter games I've backed: Shadowrun Returns, Wasteland 2, and The Banner Saga. Though I don't think these are coming out this year.

I don't usually go for day one purchases, but Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and Pokemon Black 2 are going to be exceptions.

Jet Grind Radio HD. I never had a Dreamcast or knew anyone with one so it'll be interesting to see if this game is still good, but even if the game suck my purchase will be justified by the soundtrack which I already know is great.

As for AAA games the it would be Bioshock Infinite or maybe Borderlands 2 if enough of my friends get it.

The only game coming soon that I am remotely interested in is War of the Roses. Whether I want to buy it on release date or not remains to be seen.

Cyberpunk for sure and maybe Divinity: Original Sin.

Looks like my wallet can heal from the 2011 mayhem.

Already got the Ratchet & Clank HD Collection pre-ordered ever since it appeared in the shops. Keeps getting pushed back though, it seems, or isn't there a definite release date yet?

Just hope they won't screw me over. I pre-ordered it for £20, but now the price is up to £28. Not sure how it works when that happens. Will I still get it for the cheaper price?

Most likely Halo 4 or the ZoE HD collection. My life has been leading up to this point for so long, ZoE 2 looked incredible on PS2, I can't imagine what it'll run like on 360...

I can't see myself ever buying on day one or pre-ordering ever again. But that comment applies to certain companies more than games. Either way paying more for a game to play it sooner is a bigger risk to me. I'll let the company take that risk for me. Besides if they were so absolutely convinced it was the greatest game ever made, it would never have gone on sale. Most games these days aren't actually worth purchasing until they are 75% off.

I've already pre-purchased the magnificent Civilization V: Gods & Kings.

I'll be getting Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as soon as it's possible and have some money.

This has been a great year for me when it comes to game releases as there's a new game (one being an expansion pack, for Civ V) for three of my favorite game series. Diablo III being the third.

Gravity Rush. T minus 1 day for that.

Other than that: I've preordered T2, GW2, and Borderlands 2, so I'm pretty well stocked.

Probably Lego Batman 2: DC Heroes.

It's released in Europe on the exact day my exams finish. After two weeks of studying and exams, I need silly, lego, superhero, free-roam fun. So bad.

If not that, I might wait and get Amazing Spider-man the video game. I just want a new game. And that looks fun. Free-roam spidey in New York. Yayz.

So far? I can think of many games coming up I'll be getting "day one".

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (in the beta)
Torchlight 2 (already pre-ordered)
Dota 2 (in the beta)
MechWarrior Online
MechWarrior Tactics
Sins of a Dark Age
Reigh of Thunder (in the beta)
Starbound

Granted, all but three of those are going to be free-to-play, so not quite sure they can count as "day one purchases". Still, I plan on installing and playing them all the day they hit.

Borderlands 2 and Spec Ops are the only other games I'm still "on the fence" for. As fun as Borderlands became (after I installed some community patches and fixes (seriously, fuck you Gearbox)), I'm still going to wait before dropping sixty bucks on the next one. I don't care what kind of "promises" Gearbox has made for the PC version this time.

Spec Ops, on the other hand, I'm waiting to see how it turns out. I've had my eye on it for quite a while, but I still want to see how the story shapes up.

Fallout 4, Half Life 2 EP3(Or HL3 if Valve derps out and calls it that).....and that's about it really. I don't have the money to buy games on launch so they had best be guaranteed-to-be-good-shit for me to buy 'em then.
I can almost guarantee you it'll be called Half-Life 3. Gabe's said many times they've abandoned the episodic model. And, considering the length of time it's been in development and the hype that's been building around it, they'd be foolish to call it Episode 3.
