You and your friends are now trapped in the D&D campaign ya'll were playing. The DM is still in control but apathetic to what just happened, everything must continue in their eyes.
EDIT: To answer some questions I'm getting, you can do all the things your character can do and you are playing your D&D char appearance wise, not yourself. The DM in this case is whoever the last or current DM is/was for you and it can't be yourself >:]

Anyways...
What is your class, and what do you do?
For this thread level cap at 15.

Off Topic: Since I'm very new to D&D please don't burn at the stake for errors and such. I pretty much thought it'd be fun to post this since I'm like the game :D

Back on topic...
I'd be freaked out, the guy who's DM right now is making me go through a trial by fire. But I think it'd be pretty cool to be a level 10 Sorcerer/ level 5 Dragon Disciple.

Kill everything with ice breath and lightning bolt xD
And as for your secrets I'll find them all! Divination ftw!

I would simply go, "Hell YES!" and then probably die from excitement. Seriously, keel over from a heart attack or something because I've always wanted to go to a fantasy realm. Oh, the adventures, the battles, the treasure. Uh...they have all those things in D&D, right? I don't actually play it, so if I didn't die from a heart attack, I'd probably be dead a few seconds anyway.

Depends on which of my campaigns we're talking about. I'll go through the many tabletop game I'm playing through and what I think it would be like for each:

Game #1: My Regular Campaign
System: D&D 3.X Mod designed by me
World: High Fantasy, based off equal parts Patricia McKillip, Hayao Miyazaki and Final Fantasy Games
GM: Me
What I play in that campaign: n/a (I am the GM as previously mentioned)

If I'm not the GM I suppose I'd be a random NPC. Really the world is pretty fucked in this campaign, but I'm not as brutal as a lot of GMs despite this fact. Plus the magic system is designed to encourage creativity, so I think I'd be pretty happy in that context. My one biggest obstacle would be the, frankly, socially retarded party I'd then be forced to interact with.

Game #2: My Semi-Regular Campaign
System: D&D 3.5 (soon to be Pathfinder)
World: 3.5 generic
GM: Me
What I play in that campaign: n/a (I am the GM as previously mentioned)

The players in this campaign are some of the most outrageous people I've ever had to DM. The reasonable solution has never been mentioned. Nevertheless the campaign is generally one of silliness and the best kind of hoarding (and horde-building) that D&D can offer. Again, I'm not a super brutal DM, but I'd still be pretty scared for my life in this one.

Game #3: My Call of Cthulu game
System: Call of Cthulu
World: 1930s, Cthulu mythos
GM: My roommate's good friend
What I play in that campaign: Most recently it was a semi-famous scottish field geologist

I don't go into a Call of Cthulu game expecting to survive and our Keeper is particularly brutal about killing us. Not only that, but I'm extremely prone to quick insanity in those games. As for being my Scottish Explorer (Bralt Michael-Hannigans), he'd be a pretty fun person to be while he was alive. Lots of adventure to be had, plenty of money and reasonable fame. Too bad about that whole 'destined to die by Lovecraftian horrors' thing though...

Game #4: My Ravenloft game
System: Pathfinder
World: Ravenloft
GM: Ex-Coworker of my roommate and I
What I play in that game: 11 year old girl (1/Barbarian 2/Sorcerer, Fey Bloodline)

I'm a fan of the character I play in that game, but just one session in we've already seen the brutality that is Ravenloft. Methinks I'd be pretty piss-terrified the whole time.

Game #5: My Spirit of the Century game
System: Fates
World: Fictional Late 1920s Pulp Novel world
GM: My roommate
What I play in that game: Ex-Military Alcoholic

Considering I'm effectively a freemason sent on tasks by other Centurions, I think it would be quite a good time. Plus, all my friends would be rich, bored and famous!

Hmm can you just do the things your character do you have to figure out how to cast spells etc.?
I would have fun as much as I could since I would probably die very soon. Second question do you get to be your own made-up character or are you just a character version of yourself?
Also I'd probably be a fighter since that isn't too hard too learn (hit the monster with the sharp object with the special move) and I would hope we're level ones at the time we're trapped so we can get used to the whole new DnD world before we have to deal with any intellectual enemies.
Edit: Thanks for answering questions.
So yea I probably would last longer knowing all my character knows.
And since I play these sorta things as a female it would be a very interesting experience.

I'd be pretty pumped, whats better than beating the living hell out of a bunch of monsters? I would be a level 15 paladin who, like my character would be morally ambiguous who may be lawful evil, but those laws are the ones that he came up with himself.

Im DMing right now so...I guess I will go by the last time I was a player.
I would crap my pants since I am a rising officer in Mordor's army (my brother uses the LOTR map, but made his own world from it) as the traitor, Lord Byron is marching to invade from the east and south. Hopefully my skill with my Ancestral Halberd would help me survive. (I was a Samurai/Rogue who wandered and joined the army and quickly started rising in rank)

Ironically, I'm running a D&D game literally as I write this post (the players are rolling damage). I'm the DM. ^^ And I assure you, I'm sadistic, not apathetic.

However, IF I was instead the friendly NPC I'm running, I would be:

Geth Ranger 15 (it's a Mass Effect sci-fi game) with Favored Enemy (Heretic Geth).

I was a druid last game I played. Bow before the might of full primary spellcasting. And my celestial dire bear.

As to what I'd do: anything I damn well wanted.

I'm a darfellan cleric of a sun god (born a half-orc, but reincarnate happened). The forces of hell are after me; they've just killed one of my companions and kidnapped another. Also, since IC and OOC have just been blurred, I'm miffed at several of the surviving party members.

To begin with, I spend more time praying (since my patron deity has been confirmed to actually be out there and listening to me). And I keep an eye out for a pair of boots of striding and springing to bump my base land speed back up to 30, and something to buff my abysmal Dex score.

I AM a lvl 5 samurai.
If I was stuck in my current campaign?
.....
I'd be screwed so hard.
Not because of my DM, but because of my teammates.

I'm a level 7 rogue, specialised in stealth, at the moment. It's our DM's very first campaign and she's been pretty mild up until now, though if my hunch is correct, we are in for some major Cosmic horror pretty soon.

The biggest threat at the moment would be that a large numbers of our interactions are with fairies and unicorns.

Aw crap at last session we were falling through an endless void, if he were truly apathetic we'd just die of old age. I'm a level 3 Barb sooooo... I axe the void?

I'd probably crap my pants in excitement, since I'm DM, and I know exactly where this is going.

(I get to shack up with a hot girl and become king, is what I'm saying here. That and I shoot fireballs out my ass.)

Yeah I had a Barbarian that was a typical badass (he suplexed a enemy into the huge fireplace of an inn, burning himself in the progress but the other guy copped much worse) who had an OCD habit of breaking in doors rather then opening them (especially after I rolled up a Hammmer of the Titans in loot). He also had a rather massive disregard for laws and social rules.

My other character was a highest possible level Master of the Unseen Hand with the rest up to 15 in the sorceror class. Was pretty much a psychotic dude who's best friend was an equally psychotic necromancer/wizard. At one point he used the spell to make his skin steel and I used my telekinesis to hurl people at his now steel pointy hat impaling people on him like a macabre game of quoits. This character was evil aligned if you didn't gather than. I was the only character to survive that game (though I later resurrected my necromancer buddy as a liche).

First game I wouldn't mind playing cos it would be fun to live that, second not so much. All our evil character pairs had a secret team we were playing for and our final goal was an item each team had it's own private use for. I only survived by destroying the item when it became obvious I wouldn't be able to steal it. The resulting magical explosion destroyed everyone else (including our various masters). I however dimension doored at the last moment. I played that evil to the bone, I even told my master I was gonna murder him one day early on.

Well, if I were stuck with the campaign the Escapist IRC was so totally going to play but never did, I would be a bard elf with a keytar who had dozens of small bells and a fixation on using a "Glue small item" cantrip to affix them to everything in sight.

I'd also so totally go for the beloved of Valarian prestige class, because with my asexuality, overwhelming love for all critters and good alignment, its pretty much a free unicorn for learning mounted combat.

And I would glue bells to it, too.

And if the others were involved, I'd be using a color cantrip to make LS's drarf's beard hot pink right now. Upon request.
