I fidget.

I also can't stand it when some annoying shit vocalises all of their thoughts on a film while we're watching it.

Same applies to people with coughs.

I just want them to SHUT THE FUCK UP. GOD!

Then, of course, when I say that, they get all up themselves.

"I'm talking to myself!"
"I can't help it!"

1. I don't give a crap. When I talk during the movie you get annoyed at me, so I'm allowed to get annoyed at you. Annoying.

2. I can, therefore you can. If you cough is so bad you shake the windows, then you shouldn't be in the same damn room as me! Fuck off!

If you have a concern about it, then that is good enough point to seek a diagnosis. If you do happen to have the disorder, then being able to get any kind of guidance and assistance will be extremely beneficial to you as you get older.
Heh.. I'm 36 hun. And my own shrink told me that there was no real point diagnosing most adults as there is no existing support system in place for them (NHS - great if you get hit by a bus, not so great if your brain is broken).

I'm just thinking that it really is inappropriate to self diagnose. If help is available then by all means grab it with both hands, especially if you are still younger as nipping compulsion problems like OCD or phobias like agoraphobia in the bud before they become the master of your life is a good thing.

Ah. Usually when someone says "at my age" regarding a potential condition, they're in their teens or so. My mistake.

Everything has to be balanced. When I eat, I have to chew evenly with each side of my mouth; I count. I always type my posts with the preview open so I can see exactly how it'll look and avoid having just a few words run off onto the next line. I've spent upwards of 5 minutes trying to rephrase something so it looks right without taking out any information or adding superfluous sentences. I did the same thing in AIM/MSN when I used them, but I just had to memorize the relationship between what I type in the text box and how it appears in the conversation box.

I don't understand the people saying they can't go to sleep while dirty. I know it seems to be rare among nerds, but that's not a compulsion. That's hygiene. I take at least 2 showers a day, and I've taken as many as 4. If you can actually feel dirty and still go to sleep, that's disgusting.

If I start a movie series, I must finish it.
Watched all LOTR, Star Wars and every Harry Potter to date.
I watched Twilight out of curiosity (to see why people said it was so bad) and I now must watch every one.

I have OCD and have spent the last three years battling with it. It really can be a very stressing and debilitating disorder. It has greatly affected my emotional and mental health and caused me several years of trauma. The reason I'm saying this is that if you suspect you have OCD I think it's worth getting a diagnosis and stopping it in it's tracks before it gets any worse. Not everyone with it will have it as bad as I did, but after what I've been through I think it would be worth stopping in case it does get worse.

And even if it's not going to get worse, if you have it I think you should try to deal with it properly, even if you don't think it's affecting you that badly. From my own experience I think there's a good chance you'll find your life will improve more than you expected it would. I didn't realise how badly my emotions were being affected until I began to get on top of my OCD.

So basically my point is if you have OCD or think you might have it, do something about it because it will be worth it whatever the case.

The main thing to realise about OCD is that there is no reason for doing what it tells you to do. The only reason you want to do what it says is because of an urge inside your brain, and nothing will happen if you don't do what it tells you to do. And doing what it tells you to do will only make things worse, it will make it more stressful and traumatic the next time you get the urge to do something. It might be difficult to fight OCD at first, but in the long run it is far better than doing what it says.

Unless you're in a situation like me where your OCD makes you anxious about things that actually matter (mine makes me terrified of doing anything to hurt anyone else) then you have the more difficult task of doing the right thing while also not letting yourself get anxious.

In any case, don't go it alone. You should definitely share your problems with other people if at all possible, and get their help. Professional help is the best. Keeping it to yourself will not do you any benefit and will possibly make things worse.

I can't sleep with my face facing a wall. Never. This is due to a nightmare I had when I was four years old or something. I can't remember it very clearly, but the wall next to my bed when I'm lying down in darkness still scares me shitless :/

I am a perfectionist.

Also, everything has to be organized. My computer for example. Every file has a place.

Take for example the Halo: Reach Vidoc "Carnage Carnivale"
That would go in Videos->Bungie->Halo->Reach->Vidocs

I thought it was perfectly normal, till I went through my friends computers. . .

Things that use numbers to measure volume, my tv, car stereo etc, has to have the volume at a multiple of 5. If I don't own it then this rule doesn't apply, couldn't tell you why.
