Im fine with smallish (depends on location to class small). That aren't something stupid. I personally wouldn't ever get one. I change my mind way to much. I have countlessly restarted many RPG's because I wanted to change my character or name. After only like 20mins. With that in mind I don't want a tattoo that I will end up hating before the day is over.

I have mixed opinions about tattoos. Personally, I believe that, being lifelong additions to one's body, they should have a deep and personal meaning. Trendy tattoos (everything ranging from the tribal tramp stamp to a Jersey Shore homage) actually kind of disgust me.

I decided when I was thirteen that I was going to get a few tattoos someday. The ones I want first are two spirit animals on my shoulder blades. My only rule was that I wouldn't get anything done until I could go five years without changing my mind. Well, I'm 28 now and I haven't gotten them yet. So, long story short, I don't regret not getting tattoos that wouldn't mean as much to me today as they did over a decade ago.

I think they look good, so long as they're done properly. I see nothing wrong with them, even when it comes to people at their jobs. I don't understand why people get so uptight about them.
I'm debating getting a tattoo at some point - something to do with my Scottish heritage - because I know that's something that will never change, and I will likely not regret it.

Within moderation. That's my opinion of tattoos. Personally, if I see tattoos on lower arms, neck, face, or hands my respect for the person wearing them sinks to a point slightly below my respect for a retarded kangaroo. One or maybe two small tatoos in those areas I have less of a problem with.

Tattoos in other locations I actually find increase my respect for a person. They show an easy confidence in oneself that I find deserving of respect.

Tramp stamps are unique, it depends on the person and the tattoo, but generally they give off a slight skank aura, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, that's my opinion. Just remember that you asked for it.

I don't particularly care for them. I've seen some really cool tattoos, but I just don't want any myself.

I love them. I have 4 but 2 big ones. Each one I have thought long and hard over and all but 1 (my most recent one) I have designed myself. Each one also has a story or reason behind it.

This is my most recent. It's by the artist Sylvia Ji. I got it finished on tuesday. Took 2 sessions - 1 was a 7 hour marathon and the 2nd was 2 1/2 hours.

(Sorry for the huge pictures, on work computer and can't be arsed to re-size)
After 1st session

After final session on tuesday (please excuse my fugly-ness in the pic)

People say you shouldn't get tattoos because they'll look bad when you're older, but really, by that time it doesn't truly matter does it?
If I ever get a tattoo I'll put thought into it. I have a few ideas but nothing solid. I don't want to go for a cliché thing like roses or skulls, or tribal. I'm not really a fan of a collection of small tattoos either. More of a few, maybe just one, larger tattoo.

Tatoos are fine (though I'd never get one) in moderation.

Advice for girls: Girls are much more attractive without tattoos than with them, however it's hard to find them without at least one. Less is better! The more ink the get, the more they give off a prostitute vibe. If you want to have numerous amount of ink, get small ones that aren't very noticeable.

There are good kinds of tatoos and there are the bad kinds. People can see the difference, but that doesn't stop people from making the bad kinds. IMO, if it looks good it looks good, and creative stuff is fine too, as long as it's not obnoxious.
Personally, I'd like to get a small Mark of Slaanesh on my left breast, and that's it. It has a lot of meaning to me, and I never want to forget that meaning. Will it look good in 50 years? Maybe, maybe not. Hell maybe no one will remember what it is (most don't even know now), but I will. That's all that really matters.
anything "generally" good or bad or would it depend on the induvidual in question?

anyway Ive always liked the Idea, (liek the assasins creed symbol..then again mabye I should know better)

Ive never understood "it will look terrible when your 50!!"

by the time your 50 you dont give a shit about apearence (within reason)
I'm taking it you are no where need 50. My great grandfather was still pickup up women in his 80s, and his appearance was a part of his success (the rest was that he was still a silver tongued devil)

Besides, they can look like crap long before 50.
I think its a little different for women...aparently you become "invisible" in the eyes of the oposite sex after a certain age

anyway what I mean is..of coarse it wont look so great if I were to get some kind of sleeve or neck/face thing thats hard to hide

however I dont see anythign wrong with getting somthing consealable or subtle, because after your 50 your not going to be showing much skin are you?

Are you an axe wielding, heavily muscled mercenary in a fantasy world who got his tattoos running with a gang of other marauders back when? Are you a crook doing prison time/just having finished it and not planning on properly integrating into society? Are tattoos a meaningful part of your culture? No?
Then why have them? (tattoos don't look cool on the vast majority of people, is my opinion)
why do anything? why is yout avatar darth vader? it looks stupid and your not darht vader. and why is your unsername "the_maderazor"?...is that even a thing?

my point is people do things for the own reasons, weather they are the right or wrong ones

I have six that I've gotten within the span of three years. I love every single one of them and plan on getting at least two more. And I love the saying my one tattoo artist said before while we were discussing people who criticize those who are tattooed, "Yes they're real, yes they hurt, and yes I'll still love them when I'm 50, so fuck off"

I'm not a member of the Armed Forces, a Merchant Sailor, Yakuza, Russian Mafia, or a Pacific Islander. Therefore there is no reason for me to get a tattoo.

I've considered getting tattoos.. still am, but I have allergies that might make it a bad idea. My wife has several and they all have some meaning to her, not least the symbol for her son's name.

That's what tattoos should be about.. they shouldn't just be something you get to look like a freak, or rebel, or be cool.. they should have deep personal meaning, because you're going to have that with you for the rest of your life.

people expect me to have tatoos. But i don't.

i have this thing for blank pages and when its filled you can't undo it.

i'm like this with tatoos.

I spend so much time looking in the front windows of empty shops.

I have two. Both designed by myself. One took me twenty years to design just right. If your going to have somethingfor the rest of your life, make sure your happy with it.
