If you watched the show you know what episode I am talking about.

I for one found it incredibly sad, as I assume I am not the only one. Especially since I have had a dog die on me, not like this of course but it reminded me of it.

:(

I hate watching it only because I know what happens at the end. Makes me think of what loyalty is really about.

I'm guessing that after its release the suicide rate in countries with television rose a good 9001%. It was seriously the saddest thing I've ever seen on TV, including serious drama where people's lives fall completely apart.

The ending is really bittersweet and sad, but true to the nature of dogs.

You want a pet, get a cat.

You want a friend, get a dog.

Maybe you just didn't like their choice of music.

Which is actually a problem I have with a lot of shows. They try to pull off a sad, emotional moment and all I can think is 'God, this music is awful.'

Same thing on Scrubs when they killed off a long-running minor cast member.

I will say it exactly as David Cohen, executive producer of the show does in the DVD commentary.

pretty much, I remember when I first watched it,I was always waiting for the episode to become as humourous as the other. Never thought futurama of all things could evoke such sadness as it did. I wonder if people who have never had dogs find it as emotional, not knowing first hand the connection that is created if you spend a lot of time with your companion.

Damn you, I'd tearing up just thinking about it!

Though I thought Bender's Big Game ruined that episode for me. Maybe it was the show giving me a pat on the back for caring about the characters, but I felt it ruined the impact of what made that episode awesome. It's been an episode I love to point to to show why Futurama is not only NOT the Simpsons, but also way better than it.

Even robots cry at the end. No being, sentient or not, cannot cry at the end of Jurassic Bark.

It was one of the most depressing things I have seen...
So did other people too, since they received Hate mail for airing the episode and making people cry.

I always disliked it till I saw the Movie that explained what happened. Then it made it slightly less sad.

I dont know, Comedy Central seems like to play that episode alot, so its lost some of its influence.

A pretty sad ending but I think the one about the 7 leaf clover and his brother is way more sad

but both great episodes.

That always made be tear up a bit.

The dog episode is pretty sad. But seeing it around 5 times in a week made it lose it's touch.

Yeah... that was rough [oh wait, no pun intended]

The really sad part for me though was that Fry thought he made the right decision, allowing the dog to have the life it had, when the dog basically had no life after Fry left. That was the depressing part for me. Did he make the right decision though? We may never know.

I also thought that the music was pretty good and helped set the mood, despite what some other people have said.

Aww to hell with it ill show the scene to anyone not "in the know".

Yeeeeeeaaaaaah... sigh. :/

EDIT:

Oh yeah, this too. Except i thought that one wasnt sad really, more thankful and to see the joys of life and friendship... yikes does that make it sound cheesy :p. But its really good though, anyone who hasn't seen it, definitely should.

Hands down one of the best Futurama episodes ever written. It's right up there with the one about Fry's brother.
