Vista 64bit is what i am using now. My first OS was windows 98/2000

wow you started with xp? i started on windows 95 and have used all windows OSs and versions including 98 millennium edition, XP media center edition and windows vista. I also used all mac OSx and unbuntu 9 and 10.

but currently i use most frequently (once a week)
mac osx 10.6 (Main OS)
Windows XP MCE
Windows 7
unbuntu 10
backtrack 4
and cent OS

(i have ALOT of computers and VMs)

oh ya and i use a CRAY os in a distributed system. but not very often just for brute force stuff

My first OS was windows 98, i got 2000 next then XP, then Vista Premium. Im still waiting to get windows 7. I will when i know that all my games will work with it

Windows 7, and I love it. My first OS was Windows 98, however I recently discovered a old Mac Classic in my basement. It still works, however I find it quite underwhelming.

hey guys, simple question: which operating system do you use?
i had the idea of this thread because i'll switch from windows xp to windows 7 tomorrow and i'm very sad about it. 9 years ago i started using pc's, and i started with win xp, and i never used anything else.

now you. what do you use? what was your first OS?

Do not worry, Windows 7 is very user friendly. Mine is Windows 7 Ultimate and my first OS was Windows 98.

I have Vista. It makes me sad, but I am waiting until I get a new computer until I get something different.

XP.

There's no point upgrading just yet for me. Money for less functionality? No thanks. XP works with the most games. Vista is awful, and 7 has a few glaring incompatibilities that I've read about with games as recent as bioshock.

My laptop uses Ubuntu as it can't game anyway.
