you should see if you can get a teacher to sign you up for the... crap, I cant remember what its called, student.... something. But if you take any technology courses or you can be signed up for free MS software like windows 7 professional or access, just not the microsoft officeElNeroDiablo said:Hmmm... And those are the CHEAPEST prices for those 3 online here in Aus (can't exactly qualify for a Student discount, but I can for the Enterprise Trial).
That's always struck me as a really weird divide. I C#/XNA program for games (not professionally), but someone else handles all the artwork. It seems bizarre that one essentially can't get both the full capabilities of the XBLA/Steam coding languages and the art rendering tools necessary to make the artwork for the game without owning two conflicting OS. Its memory overhead was far, far too large for the standard hardware of its time and astronomically larger than that of XP. When people upgraded from XP they were largely disappointed by the slowdowns they hadn't experienced on XP, which their hardware could actually handle. There's nothing wrong with Vista per se, but it was very daft of Microsoft to release such a hardware intensive OS at that time.iDoom46 said:Windows Vista.
I really don't see why everyone hates/hated on Vista so much, its really not as bad as everyone makes/made it seem.
If I was doing a TAFE/CIT (Uni/college) course, then I could qualify for the Student Discount. I can't afford (Centrelink DSP) to do another IT course as it'll be just for the paper saying I can use the skills I've been (basically) self-teaching myself over the past 15-16 years (and I'm 23).Worgen said:you should see if you can get a teacher to sign you up for the... crap, I cant remember what its called, student.... something. this is literally a free full version of windows, its for a student to familiarize themselves with or something, I wish I could remember what the program is called but its not a trial, its the full version of these ms programs, just bug your teachers about it, altho it might be something only at certain schools or here in the US or somethingElNeroDiablo said:If I was doing a TAFE/CIT (Uni/college) course, then I could qualify for the Student Discount. I do technically qualify for the 7Enterprise trial as it's to test if it's be worth rolling out on my systems (albeit, intended for a big business, but details).
