Scotch. Single Malt. One ice cube. No premix drinks of any kind.

What can I say, I know what I like.

::EDIT::

Ninja'd by a man of excellent taste.

For beers, I usually go with a Hobgoblin Ale from Wychwood Breweries or a Duchesse De Bourgogne Flemish Red Ale. As for spirits; you just can't beat a nice glass of Johnny Walker Blue Label, on the rocks of course.
Wow I thought I was the only one that liked HobGoblin lol. My favourite would be Guinness and the worst I've ever had is Cherry Brandy...seriously people that stuff is sick

Cider

I'm from Somerset, I don't really have a choice.
Jim Beam Black on ice, or with Coke
Becks Lager
Adnams Broadside Bitter
Aspall Cider

=] Most people outside of Suffolk probably won't know the last two, but their awesome. And the only better cider I've had was a homebrew from Somerset that was like a shot to the head =P

I have not had a single alcoholic beverage but I will shortly be at drinking age. What should I try as my first drink? Should I expect my first drink to suck or be amazing?
Depends on what you drink. If you have a lager, stick to Becks, Michelob, or Carlsberg Export. As far as ciders go, Strongbow can suck my balls. Scrumpy Jack is good, but, if you can get it, go for Aspall. Its expensive and hard to find outside of East Anglia, but worth it. The rest is personal choice really. Oh and stay away from Jagermeister... Ugh... That and Absinthe. =/

Edit: Shit, I forgot Estrella. Its a Spanish lager, and it owns all of the others completely. Shame its hard to find outside of Spain =[

EditEdit: And I forgot Guinness... God, what's wrong with me! =P

I'm partial to Hoegardden, only problem is it makes your breath stink of beer, much like eating garlic, there's no quicker way to get your lady friend to back off you after a Hoegardden much like its culinary counterpart.

1) Grey Goose and tonic 80% vodka and 20% tonic, and a hearty splash of lime.
2) Margarita with 3 parts Sauza Tres Generaciones repisado tequila, 3 parts Cointreau and 2 parts lime juice, on the rocks, with just a tiny hint of salt on the rim of the glass.

Now I'm thirsty.

I've always wondered about that beer, how's the taste? My preferred drink is a gin and tonic with a slice of lemon.

I'll go with Hansa Pilsner (Norwegian lager), even though I rarely drink.
It's good when you're watching something like a film or TV series.

Pinca Colada. Anything girly really. I can't stand the taste or smell of alcohol, however slight, so it needs to be overpowered by other stuff.

Guinness is over-rated even out of the tap. Bourbon, Scotch, Irish Whiskey these are the things I desire, when I look for a good drink.

Don't worry, since trying Hobgoblin about 2 years ago I have been screaming it's merits to everyone who would listen, and have managed to make a few converts.
