I also have a problem I'd like to ask about: I almost always have this sensation in my chest, as though the weight of my ribcage is crushing my heart. I'm not sick, so I'm pretty sure it's this sense of dread I have, dread about life in general. How life's been, how life will be, worrying about my parents, worrying about my studies, worrying about our financial situation...

Stupid thing is, I'm the kind of guy who normally shrugs off troubles, & doesn't let anything get to him. But when I'm sitting here in my dark room, everyone else asleep, but me still feeling it's too early, it just happens. I'm not even thinking about anything bad, it just happens.
Can be physiological, psychological or a combination. Learning meditation is awesome, but I always lose focus. Exercise is good too. Basically if there are problems then understanding how to deal with them will put your mind at ease.

Often you will already know what you have to do, you just have to clear your head. I try to always remember: take a deep belly breath, let it out slow and feel every part of your body before you continue.

It's going to sound silly, but the solution is crying. Just sit there and cry. I used to feel the same way, almost all the time, and I still just shrug things off. But you can't totally shrug them off. They still sit in your subconcsious. Like I said, sit down and cry for as long and as hard as you need. As long as you can even. Let yourself feel sad and angry. Force yourself to cry if you need, and then let go.
I dunno how to :S I've tried my best to, but I think I'm just completely numbed out in that sense. At best I can bring up a coupla tears, but even after bringing up every bad thing that comes to my mind, the most I can get out is a grim look.

About being numbed out: it feels to me like my state of mind can become happier with fun, but in the event of something bad happening, or bad thoughts coming to me, it's as though there's a wall between my mind & the sadder states. I just get locked away from being sad. I've been sad, just never sad enough to cry.

I have been angry though, which cost me a chair at one point -_- If I'm angry I punch walls, angrier & I punch more breakable things.

Well, not to belittle your problem, but please use spaces after sentences. Also, who's to say that your grandmother didn't know that you loved the chicken? Pet chicken's aren't all that common as far as I'm aware.

I know what you mean. It's really hard the first time, but it keeps getting easier with each cry. The first time I cried after about 8 years, I had no idea why I was. I was perfectly happy when all of a sudden tears started pouring out of my eyes. It was scary as hell, I can tell you that right now. And when I realized all the things I had to cry about, I kept crying more and more. But when I was done, I felt so much better.

im going to a wedding tomorrow. black suit or pinstripe?
That all depends on the circumstances. If it's a friend or close family member getting married, I would say pinstripes, seeing as how they're a tad bit less formal than pure black. If it's a friend of a friend or something like that, or an extended family member, I would say pure black. Of course, you could also go with a different color altogether. I wore a very dark sage green suit to the last wedding I went to, and my step-sister (the bride) said it looked great.

Well she was the one that won it at the state fair for me. She knew I loved my chicken. Her explainaition was that she didn't want to go to the store to buy more chicken so she killed mine instead. What kind of grandma kills her 5 year old grandson's chicken?
Well, she probably thought to herself "he's 5, he'll get over it". Or you just have a really mean grandmother. Or, she thought that you should have a more classic pet like a dog or cat. Some grandparents are like that. By which I mean, they think that different is automatically bad.

Aside from the "why", manchild asked "what should I do?"

& I suggest: I'm sorry, I tried to make a suggestion, but I'm not very good at this -_- Whatever I came up with seemed too precise, I re-read it & thought I sounded like a commanding officer.

Thanks xitel. I'll work on it, I really will.

I really can't do anything about it, that's why I feel stumped. I'd hate to say it's beyond my abilities to "fix" the troubles, but some of them are really unfixable (unless you count murder as an option), & others are more likely to get worse with an attempt to fix. & I wouldn't be able to handle it if it got worse.

We (parents & I) HAVE already taken some measures that will hopefully improve our lives dramatically, but the results are yet to be seen. It's a matter of time whether or not we get positive or negative results. & I don't know how my mom would take it if we get negative. Or me for that matter.

A musical question for drummers and/or percussionist out there.

I need to work on my limb separation, mainly the fact that I can get my feet doing a basic steady rhythm(4/4 for instance all the way up to 250bpm sections) and my hands doing offtime beats, but I can't do viceversa at all. Help?
You need to play at 120 bpm to a metronome, and play eighths to that time. During that snare, play 2 measures of kick on beat 1, 2 measures of kick on beat 2, 2 measures of kick on beat 3, and 2 measures of kick on beat 4 and repeat. This isn't something you then master and don't practice, this is to be a daily warm up activity, because it makes your feet and hands separate, and gives a good foundation to build off of. It also helps break bad accent habits we fall into when rolling on the snare.
