I'm currently working as a cook at a gas-station, which isn't really all that cool, seeing as how I've got degrees in both catering and hotel and restaurant business. I've also got the qualifications to work as an NCO instructor in the military, but what I'd really like to do is become an officer in the military. I'm gonna apply to the school this spring, and if I don't get in, I'll try again next year, and keep doing so until I get in.

It's a lot more physical than cooking, and I'd get to use firearms in my profession, which is also cool. But mostly I'd like to just be a part of the process of training soldiers. I used to be a squad leader, which was cool and all, but being the platoon commander would be that much more awesome.

I'm majoring in game design at college; and when I get out it'll be my dream job. That or working in CGI animation at a movie studio.

I drive choo-choo's.

Which means: I transport large amounts of stupid people every day on trains. Seriously, you ever want to see a genius turn into a moron in a split second? Put them on a train platform. Instant stupidity.

It's a pretty awesome job. I get well paid to do not much. I only really have to earn my money when something goes wrong, which isint very often.

But my dream job would be the health inspector. Large amounts of Sydney would cease to have anywhere to eat. I'd shut all those filthy bastards down. (I'm looking at you area within Central station, Town Hall station and Darling Harbour. Oh, and Ashfield.)

Trained as an Actor, now working for the child protection agency.

I did point out I hate children, but apparently that's not a problem.

As the title says, what is your current or future profession? Is it your dream job? Why did you select it? What is/do you think is the best part of it? And have you ever had to give up on a dream job for another job? Also what is the hardest thing you had to do to get to your dream job/hardest thing about your job?
I'm a rape crisis counsellor. I picked it because I was told I would be good at it, and I have a passing interest in psychology. Now I've been doing it for a year or so, I would really like to pursue a further career in counselling- I suppose the dream would be to have my own private practice and be counselling stupid people for lots of money.

I think my job title says it all when it comes to "hardest things about your job". It's hard work, but rewarding.

On a lighter note, the hardest thing I had to do to get my job was get a reference from Toys R Us, where I worked the Christmas before I started. You'd think a big company would be used to shipping out references.

I'm currently in full-time education but with plans of becoming an illustrator of some sort. My absolute dream job, the sort you can die happy with, would be a place on the art team at Bioware. That's not going to happen of course so anything dealing with concept work/storyboarding in the film or gaming industries would be ideal.

I work in a bakery... It's not my dream job, but it'll do for now.
I have lots of dream jobs like teaching English in Japan, opening an animal shelter, being a primary school teacher, being a pantomime actor, touring with a improvisational theatre group...
The job isn't exactly hard, but quite tiring. The hardest thing is not punching the thick as shit customers we get.

Archaeology. Currently in the process of studying it. And I've never imagined myself being anything else but an archaeologist, so I think I can safely say it's my dream profession. I am also going to be famous for discovering Atlantis.

I'm a college student studying religion and philosophy. In the summers I am an intern at a Museum. I don't know what I want to do though. I figure something will find me. I am *knock on wood* lucky that way.

I'm a printer, I do the practical work of putting ink onto paper and giving the paper the form of a newspaper.
It wasn't what I had imagined when I was growing up, but it is good work that presents many minor problems to solve and enough physical work/routine. It fits me.
