I really wish I had something to add here. I've had some of the most incomprehensible dreams you could imagine, but what I remember is so disjointed that I couldn't really give you anything. The order of things is all screwed up, and all I have is a bunch of few-second clips and concepts.
So instead, I'd like to run a question by you. Is it plausible that every so often, my brain just takes everything from the past however many months that freaked me the hell out, and piles it all into one big nightmare?
Several months back, I had one of the most effed-up dreams I've ever had.
There was a foursome going on. Dio Brando (from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) was doing a little girl, while a chihuahua was doing a grown woman. That's all I remember, besides the fact that I woke up wondering "What the hell?"
Good evening, and happy boxing day. My name is H.T. Black, and I'll be impressing you today.
Odds are that you, dear reader, are a sentient being-- which means you most likely think, and have dreams. There is a good chance that these dreams are strange and incomprehensible...which is where I come in.
This is something that grew out of a recent thread somewhere in the off-topic board--I, using the powers of logic, intuition, and luck, will deciper the meanings of your strangest nightmares. All you have to do is post it, and I'll decode it for the enjoyment of all.
In case you doubt me, allow me to present some evidence:

My dreams do not make sense in reality. The other night I had a dream about mole-wolves taking control of an island of plant people, but without the plant people being incharge the island was slowly turning into a barren landscape so I (in this dream I was a mysterious hooded stranger to the island) had to lead a rebellion to take back the island in the name of the plant people.
If you can give an explaination of what my dream means than you truely are as insane as me.
Well it's obvious-- your dream represents a subconscious fear that the gradual growth of the mammalian population will lead to dramatic deforestation in your place of residence (or possibly the world over). Your instinctive need to do something to protect your homeland manifested itself in the form of you becoming a charismatic resistance leader-- this may or may bot be an indirect result of your suppressed desire to socialize with human population as a whole.
You are also pumped for Asassin's Creed II, which you have already bought and been playing, or are hoping to recieve for christmas.
What can I say? I learned from Sigmundfrued himself-- specifically, Sigmunfrued the bantam rooster.
You just blew my mind....
They are building a lot of houses/shops near where I live, which used to be a quiet town with a low population, I am against the construction as it is getting areas of the town I once played in as a child.
I am the only one of my friends who did not go away for their holidays and have been doing nothing while waiting for them to get back. So I have a need to socialize.
And lastly my friend lent me Assassin's Creed 2 before going on holiday, and I think it was epic.
But one last question for you, how did you work all that out?
So what does being a mongoose lifeguard overseeing a water polo match between Halo Grunts and Killzone Helghast, which then gets crashed by several hundred men in military clothing and everyone except me dies. And then later going home and after eating too much ham and drinking too much eggnog, Gimli from LoTR punching me in the stomach supposed to mean?
Wow...you need professional help. Unfortunately, all the help's asleep at this hour, so you'll have to make do with me. Let's begin:
First of all, you may or may bot be a zooiphile. I say 'may not' because it's far more likely that you merely stored the *ahem* attractive* mongoose anatomy within your sub-consciousness owing to a large amount of contact with them (this can be validated by your earlier post); odds are that you, my friend, share the same mindset as most Escapist users: while you may understand that there is goodness within humanity, you are surrounded by people who do their best to prove you wrong every single day. As a result, it would naturally occur to you to distance yourself from the harshness of the everyday world by in turn alienating yourself from humanity-- this is the entire purpose of escapism, no?
Considering the more Fruedian aspect of things...well...you gotta satisfy yourself somehow, right?**
Also, you may want to look into the very real chance that you are, in fact, a mentally repressed fur*NOT GONNA GO THERE*.
In short, this aspec of your dream makes you feel better.
*If that's how you roll, I mean.
**It's 2 AM. Don't badger me about libido jokes.
As for the lifeguard aspect of things: Given that you are a lifeguard, simple logic dictates that this may be de ja vu from a particularly busy day. However, I am inclined to think that this dream, much like your Username/Avatar combination, is a representation of your torn stance on humanity. See here: In your dream, you were a mongoose. Mongeese (see what I did there?) kill things-- snakes, rodents, particularly annoying children-- many things.
Yet in your dream, you were guarding lives through the eyes of a quick-to-draw predator. This can be seen both as a reflection of your unsteady opinion of mankind (animalistic wrath against altruistic heroism) and your own moral ambiguity-- which is also demonstrated by your adopted name when contrasted with your murderous avatar.
The same message is conveyed by the game of water polo-- two competing sides, one made up of mostly innocent people, and the other of bloodthirsty warmongers. Given that you assumed a dominating postition above it all, I am compelled to theorize that you might have something of an egotistical complex: it is just as likely, however, that you fear that you are in a position of authortity without wielding any actual power over life's outcome. (The game was eventually flattened, and you could do nothing to stop it.)
The militarymen represent the crushing doubt that pervades your thoughts: the fear that eventually, all that is good and bad alike will be crushed, left to die, and swiftly forgotten. The fact that you survived may symbolize one of three things: firstly, that you have a fear of loneliness (this can be blamed on human genetic programming)-- that you will be left to fare for yourself when society has come and gone, with your questions still unanswered. Secondly, this may mean that you wish for such an opportunity as this: for society and its evils (and goods) be swept aside so that you may rebuild in your own image (this supports the above-mentioned ego complex theory).
Third, you may have been playing too much Fallout.
Finally, in regards to what happened after the pool:
You are a psycopath who enjoys wathcing lesser creatures get punched in the gut.
And you are afraid of little people who work in all-you-can-eat buffet resturaunts.
Here, i had this dream right after New Year's. It was basically like most of my dreams, a weird recap of the previous day. I woke up and i was a regular sized mongoose but went on through my day normally. People didn't react to me strangely and nor did they even spare a second glance (but then again, when the world of my dreams consist of celebrities, close friends, film and video game characters, then its hardly strange). I started the day by going to the pool and doing the six hour shift. I had to make sure the Helghast and Grunt waterpolo game went well and it suprisingly did go smoothly with no deaths. I later then went to the shopping mall to buy some Coca Cola from the RE4 vendor, which was kind of strange since i couldn't even reach the checkout counter. Later that evening i went on a date with my girlfriend to a Bon Jovi concert. Apparently, a Hispanic girl carrying around a mongoose isn't a weird sight, but then again i was sitting next to Brick from Borderlands and Alex Mercer. After 3 hours of Living on a Prayer and Wanted, we left the concert and she kissed me on my nose and i woke up? Just a really weird distortion of my day i think, but what do you think?
I was on a boat, then I got off of it onto land, walked into an African village and saw starving african children shooting up heroine. Right after that, I appeared back on the boat (now at night, and in a terrible storm) and all the boat had been partially destroyed, was partially sunk, and there were the african kids dead floating in the bit of water that had gotten into the boat.
Alright not a recent one but the most recent I remember.
I was in an underground cave, there was a pit with magma or lava whatever it's called at the bottom, there was only two ways to cross, a hole on the other side about halfway down from the top of the pit and a bridge. At first my team and I, the team being comprised of Samus, Link and other vide game characters I cant quite remember, I was Fox (from star fox) at first we were going to cross the bridge but before we did evrything went black for a bit and when things cleared up everyone but me was gone but they're voices were still there... and they were talking about killing me. So I said "Fuck it" and made a jump across the pit towards the hole that was halfway down the wall and right before I made it I suddenly woke up.
this was actually from another dream related thread so i thought id just copy it from there...

i remember in one of my dreams, i was playing at some rock concert, when all of a sudden some alien-like things bust through the walls and start killing everyone all while im still playing, then one of them shoots at me and the shot nails me in the head, needless to say i stopped playing, slowly moved my head back down looking at the one who shot me and i guess for a few minutes or something i was seeing outside my body what was happening/what i looked like at the moment and i had the bullet hole in my head, my eyes glowing a very bright almost white red and i get the guitar and start speeding around the stadium killing the aliens in various manners (im not sure escapist will let me go into further detail) in a FLCL-esque fashion
and then once i kill the very last alien that was trying to crawl away, i look up through a massive hole in the roof of the stadium and see some gigantic mech stomp its leg down on me BUT, that didnt kill me (mostly in my dreams like me i dont die too easily...), instead, again im seeing outside my body, and i see myself burst out the top of the mech and im looking at myself floating in the air with guitar in hand as the mechs exploding behind me
and then as i look off in the distance i see some sort of mega nuke thing falling through the air several miles away, and after the shockwave passes through me, i watch as the explosion slowly heads toward me and then, i wake up.... thinking "holy shite, that was fucking awesome..."
so, you just try to find any logic or deep inner meaning to this, because all i can come up with is that its a result of the anime i watch and games i play and loving playing the guitar
thats not actually true because i could come up with a very obscure interpretation of this, of how everything stands for something in my life and personality, how the events that happened are showing me what i think of the world and whats to become of it (i.e. the nuke symbolizing the imminent destruction/reformation of the worlds current state and that i cant do anything about it accept watch as it engulfs everything in its wake, leaving everything in a state that is completely different and with no trace of what it was before, and my reaction to it all could be that that is how it has become, that even though everything is completely different we just sit back and are pleased with what it is, unknowing of what is happening, blinded by our own amusement, but i digress...)
so yeah, see what you think of it...
Thanks for doing my job. I mean, seriously-- the only thing I could do here is repeat what you just said; and that's no way to roll.

Well if you can make sense of an old childhood dream of mine I'm surprised I still remember, that'd be pretty cool.
So anyway.
I was walking into my parents room in our old house. My older brother and sister were sitting on the bed intently listening to a strange white haired woman that seemed to radiate light. I turn around and see a baby cradle rocking back and forth so I go up to investigate. Suddenly a witch pops up in the air screaming and swoops down and stabs me.
but yea I really have no clue why I remember that.
Until I get more description, I can't write that off as anything more than a childhood brain fart.

I can't feed a crowd of fifty thousand with two Cod and some bread! I'm just a dream interpreter on the Escapist! If I hear one more dream like the slurry you've given me--

Hel-lo...Ha. Look, I'm sorry, but I get the chuckles every time I read about that whole mongoose thing. Let's do it:
About the pool: I already did that (just remove everything after the first menton of the marines).
About the regular sized mongoose: life's treating you hard. My condolences.
The Bon Jovi Concert: I didn't know they were still playing-- and didn't Styx perform 'Wanted'?
In short, I too think your dream is just a recount of your day; there's not much more to be said about those sorts. Imagine me like Alan Moore: I do once-offs and specials, not ongoing series.
Also, I'd recommend turning your dreams into a comic book and pitching it to the indy market. It'd go over big.

Unfortunately, the meaning behind dreams is mostly based in the abstract and personal symbolism that can only truly be deciphered by the dreamer. Interpretation is impossible without fully knowing the psychological and physiological profile of the dreamer. Attempts to interpret otherwise are mostly akin to John Edward type misdirections.
The interpretation of the image of a cigar (for example) may have a completely different meaning from one individual to the next. It is dependent on several personal factors that cannot easily be qualified without knowing the dreamers feelings towards cigars; whether they associate cigars with a particular event or person. Also, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
In such, I take dream interpretation with a grain of salt.
OT: You skipped my dream. And ignored me when I pointed it out before.
It actually has proper content to work with, compared to most of these other ones.
And so far, you aren't too good at this anyway. One hit wonder, methinks.
I once had this dream where I went on a date with some girl, then after the date I took her home and went to my friends house to help his parents set up for his birthday. While getting everything set my friend's cake (it had a picture of him skateboarding on it) exploded getting cake everywhere. That is all.
Also, what can you tell me about premonitions? Because I get those from time to time too.
Dude i get premonitions all the time. I had a premonition of 9/11, and of when i got womped by some punk at school, and of my grilfriend.
Let my elaborate, for the OP to explain to me.
that is spoilered for it is very long, but it is worth reading, and please excuse the occasional wall o' text.
9/11- I am on a flight, didn't know what one at the time. I get up and as i do the loadspaker comes on. "Hello ladies and gentlmen, we are now flying over New York City, look out your windows to see it." I then go to the bathroom, take a piss, and open the door to go back to my seat. As the door opens i hear a load crack and the sound of metal bending. I then start to fall, as i fall i look up and see my flight hit the first twin tower, i look down and see the ground rushing twords me, i close my eyes and i awaken.
Pretty werid, that was about a month before 9/11 acually happend.
Womped by punk- Okay so im in my school. Im in my grades area eating snack, and all of a sudden this punk comes up to me and punches me in the temple, i fall to the ground and awaken.
About a week later that exaclt thing happend except im walking back from lunch, and then he hits me. I made a thread about it called, "I just got punched i nthe temple, hard, for like no reason" or something like that. That has the full story.
Current Girlfriend- Okay so im at lunch and im talking with my best friends, my current girlfriend bein one of them. And then as she gets up she wispers in my ear, "I love you, im free on saturday" and walkes off for it was time for us to go. This was on a wednesday in my dream.
So about 2 weeks later im flirting with this same girl in computer class, we're laughing anf having fun and all that. This was a tuesday. The next day through AIM she askes me who i like, and remebering my premonition i think, i like her, it seemed so obviose. I told her that and she said she liked me, we went on a date that saturday.
So while all these premonitions may not be exact they are way to close to just call coincidences. As for dreams i can only remeber one, and i will share that, but iwant my premonitions to be explained god damnit.
Now for the dream.
Okay so im on a giant cruise ship in what looks like the Amazon river, don't ask how it wasnt hitting the bottom of the river or the sides, aparenly it was very deep and wide. So we have about 100 feet of clearence on each side of the river (keep in mind this is a large ship) and we're speeding down, at a very fast pace. I tell the captain to slow down for if a obstical gets in our way we wont be able to avoid it. He aparently doesnt hear me and just keeps driving. I go back to the main deck and i look over the edge ahead of us. I see a medium sized boat aproching us and i brace for impact, we crash into it. Everyone on our ship falls to the groud except me, everone on the other boat falls out, and no one dies. Somehow our vessel stops instantly and i take advantage of that. I throw over a ladder for the drowning people to get up. One guy that wasnt drowning brought up the ones that were. I started giving CPR on the victums, i saved about 5 people and some other people that helped my saved the rest of the drowning people.
Then i was at a ceramony getting the congresinal civilian medal of honor "for my bravery and ability to serve when duty called."
Now while you may say i strive for attention i really don't. Okay i like people noticing me but i don't stive for it, i'd rather just be mentioned then getting a giant medal for it all. Maybe i really do watn attention i just don't let myself think it? I don't know, please help me on this one.
I can beat your 9/11 premonition, though what I had wasn't exactly a premonition, just a really frightening coincidence
I, as a young child of 8 and a half, rented a Men In Black cartoon from the library. Watching it, the not-black one accidently mindwipes himself back to 1975. Will Smith works this out by asking him "what's the tallest building in manhattan?"
"Empire State" replies whitey, as do I
"Nope, Twin Towers" says Will Smith, pointing at the towers. I'm awed by their size, even in cartoon form.
Later on, aliens try to drive a blimp into these new-fangled "Twin Towers" of theres, but they are foiled. I ask my mum what the Twin Towers were, she tells me they're the tallest buildings in the world.
That was on the 10th September, 2001.
Next day, they're gone. I was aware of them for a day
Last night, I dreamed that I was in a time period crossover between present day and the 40's. I was with George Clooney and my dad in a subway tunnel, at one of those maintenance stops somewhere along the tracks. George hands me his black pistol, which as my dad points out can switch between 9mm and 10mm bullets with the flick of a switch. Someone comes, frisks George, and then talks to him about some mission that could be dangerous.
Later, I'm with a man and woman, not sure who, and we're going up some flights of stairs to the surface. When we get there, police swarm down the stairs above us, so I draw the pistol and kill five, one of which had a drum-fed Tommy gun, then tell the rest to drop their weapons and leave. My buddies get the Tommy gun and an M1 Carbine, so I get an M1 Garand. Some of the M1's bullets were blanks, so I sit there and dig out only the live rounds to use. We hear more police coming, so we run off into a trainyard nearby.
A vortex appears in the sky, causing a "magical" lightning storm that blows open the large steel gates in front of us, so we keep moving. I see a plane going down towards us from the front, so I shout, "To the right!" The girl was on my left and she barely dodges the plane's engine. I have a backpack of supplies, so I'm the slowest one, so they run ahead to a sturdy warehouse and open the door for me. Once inside, the guy shuts the door, and we turn to see several men with guns who appear to be some kind of rebels.
They lower their weapons and comment on how I'm the chosen one or something, start talking about something I can't remember, and then I wake up. Any ideas?
Ha,
I'd like you to interpet a dream for me. I'll probably not agree with your findings:
My little brother runs up to me flustered/upset, saying my sister (older) won't get out the shower-won't respond to him talking. So, I go and bash on the door, as hard as I can.
Then I kick in the door/open the door (can't recall), and my sisters head has been chopped off and stuck on a hook.
Cue what felt like 10 minites of me crying and doing CPR on a head.
Dude, that's fucked up! I had many adventurous dreams that involved random killings, but nothing that violent and emotionally damaging.
OT: It's not my dream(mine are hours long, black and white and relate allot to video games + I usually manage on my own to figure them out), it's a friend's: He was in the desert and stood there for several minutes, when an eagle flew through his stomach leaving a big hole in it. The last images he saw from a 3rd person view.
Whoa whoa whoa. My dream was SERIOUS. I'm not kidding. Wanna please try? Jesus by the way you've been talking you're just ASKING for a hard one. And i think that's a hard one.
Good evening, and happy boxing day. My name is H.T. Black, and I'll be impressing you today.
Odds are that you, dear reader, are a sentient being-- which means you most likely think, and have dreams. There is a good chance that these dreams are strange and incomprehensible...which is where I come in.
Ha! I thought I was the only person on here who could interpret a dream worth a damn. Good to know its not a dying skill (or at least, not a dead one).
You're highly detail oriented so I'll give you the two I remember most clearly.
This dream was had over the course of a single night, but it came in three independant segments, almost like chapters of a book. I suppose the easist way to catalouge it would be to provide a summary of each chapter.
1) The entire world is in a kind of sepiatone. I'm in what I can only guess are the rocky mountians, that is to say there are sparse knots of decidous trees in every direction, the ground is most nearly comparable to soil and there is a noticable slope to the ground. It's very windy and there is a storm raging over head, lighting and all (which by the way is easily my favorite weather pattern.)
I'm sort of squatting on the ground looking around when I see a large rock outcropping jutting out of the earth. A large bear comes walking to the top of the outcropping. It roars and swipes a paw. Orchestral music picks up and I approach the bear cautiously. I think I was pretending to be a "bear whisperer" or something because I had my hand out at the bear and was just staring at it. Eventually, I was on the rock too, the bear had calmed down (and was no just sitting there) and I felt like I had won a challenge. A lighting bolt struck, I turned around and saw an old bulky Harley davidson-esque motorcycle which (in dream, even though I don't own a motorcycle and wouldn't know how to drive one) I owned. I jumped on the motorcycle and drove off.
2) I'm driving my motorcycle, confidently, and a pull up to a clearing. It's kind of a ravine and in the center of it is a huge redwood viking long-table with people sitting on it. If I had to guess I'd say it sat something like sixty people, and there were squire types, musicians and waiters arrayed along the edges. So it was a very big party.
I park my motorcylce next to a tree and sat myself at the only open seat on this table. In dream I felt like it was reserved for me and I was expected at this party. I ate a few of the fingerfood type things and remeber thinking that they were decent, nothing exceptional. The music was sort of floaty and mediterrenean and I remeber not paying much attention to it. I was seated next to an old person on my right who was very absorbed with eating and to my left was a semi-attractive brunette. She was talking to her boyfriend, on her left, and wasn't really approachable. After a couple minutes of sitting there I decided I was bored and left the party. The musicians were the only people who seemed to notice, they wanted to know if they had played alright.
I got on my motorcycle again and drove off.
3) I started this dream inside the walls of a very old church. It was kind of like a hallway a little thinner than my armspan. The inside of this wall was filled with identical cubes of ice that each came up to about my chest. They sort of formed a puzzle. On one part of the wall there was a window, too high to reach. I had to slide the ice blocks so that they formed a stairway of sorts that I could then scale to get outside the walls of this church. The problem was there was a massive bear just below the surface of the ground. And the idea was that the bear could leap and snap through one iceblock but not two, so I had to be sure to keep at least two iceblocks on every space in order to avoid being eaten.
I started at the puzzle and had reasonable success. The bear broke a few of my ice blocks but didn't quite get out. Eventually, I had the stairway all formed and I was ready to climb to the window, the problem is I had left the most distant space with no ice blocks. As soon as I realized this a gigantic bear broke through the ground kind of like an alligator snapping at something. I sprinted up my pyramid of ice and leapt through the window. The bear tried to follow me but it broke the blocks that it stepped on so it couldn't use the staircase I'd made.
I jumped out and landed in a big pile of powdery snow. I was now somewhere acrtic. There was snow in all directions, the sky was clear and a pretty blue and the church I'd just borken out of was the only thing besides forrest I could see in any direction. I set off at a jaunty pace, passed a stunned looking man slightly older than me and said to him "Careful, there are bears underground." I then reached my motorcycle, parked next to a tree, got on it and drove off. "Careful, there are bears underground." was the only thign I said in any of these dreams.
Theres that one. And here's number two.
I was riding in the back of a sixteen wheeler with a couple other people. There were bench looking things welded to the walls so we had places to sit. It felt like we had been hitchiking and a sixteen wheeler picked us up. My brother and I were there (my brother is one of my better friends) as well as an attractive blond girl and twin boys much younger than me. I knew in dream that we were all headed to the same place. I also knew that, for some reason, it was important the guy who was giving us the ride didn't figure out where we were going. It was as though we were being followed by people we were trying to loose, on our way to an important meeting.
The sixteen wheeler crashed but no one was injured or even that fazed. I and my brother started walking down the road and the blond girl followed us. The twins and the driver went a different way. It was right around evening and we were someplace heavily wooded. The twins seemed very nervous, the driver was dejected and me, my brother and the girl were pretty positive.
After walking for a while, my party reached a rest stop looking place. It was just a collection of buildings arrayed around a large courtyard. There was a banner hanging by the entrance that said "welcome" and I realized that this rest stop was the place everyone had been looking for.
I walked in and there was suddenly people everywhere in the middle of a very upbeat party. Everyone at the party was either (in real life) a friend that I'd had, a girl I'd been interested in or a relative of mine. There were musicians playing sort of mediterranean music and people passing out very leafy interesting food. I tried a couple and they were delicious. Eventually I saw the twins and the driver in a far corner and I was glad they found the party. I was bout to come up to them when an old friend of mine from debate turned up and challenged me to a strategy game I'd never heard of.
It was played on a board that just looked like a bunch of leaves with two colomns of holes for pegs. I don't remember the rules other than that you put different colored pegs down. It took me a miunte to learn but I was winning toward the end and it was his move (the last move). And for his last move he did something that I thought was against the rules of the game but wasn't specifically mentioned in the rules. I think it was that he put another peg on top of one of the others or something. Anyway, I complained and we argued for a bit, friendly-like not actual arguments, and that was the end of the dream.
You'll forgive me if both of these are kind of long. You keep saying you want a whole lot of detail so I put down everything I could remeber. Feel free to tackle either neither or both of these, I leave it to your discretion.
