I'd probably be a chemist and modestly well-trained plumber and electrition.

Paracetamol and antiseptic would be some of the most valuable things in such a world.

I'd wander around for about a year with friends scavenging. Then would make my way to a settlement that has been set up and become a trader there, making allies and eventually becoming mayor. Later I would pay people to go out and scavenge goods for me. After I have enough gear and currency, I will change the settlement to a trade town, attracting wander's to come and trade their goods. But I would get a lot of attention from slavers and the such, so I will trade Mercs free ammo, weapons and shelter in exchange for protection. After I have the perfect setup, I will start sending out people on trade routes. They will go to other settlements and provide my goods. After I have became allies with some other settlements, I will try and unite us to gather in one area. So this way we will armies of survivors to scare off all the bad things that want to attack our new haven. I will regularly send out hunters and scavengers to find supplies for the city, and in exchange for risking their own lives I will give them a cut of what they find. Our empire will eventually expand and we shall rebuild. But only Australia, everywhere else can do what they want.

I'd probably just find a nice, big nuke and set it off by kicking it a few times. Besides death-by-pancake, I think that'd be a lovely, top-tier way to die.
Kicking a nuke would hurt your foot. Also, you won't be able to 'kick start' a nuke. If your electronics skill was high enough you might be able to trigger it, but why are you wasting your time killing yourself when you could be out there breaking into stuff and bettering your own meager existance.

Speaking of which, I'm going to join the enclave and be one of their scientists. They got the best technology and least mutations. Sure, their radio station sucks but who cares if you have a good quality of life?
Fell, first off I'm wearing steel-toed boots to cut down on foot pain. Second, I will come back from recently rubbing my feet on a carpet-of-static-electricity to artificially boost my electronics skill.

Thirdly, why would I want to live with a meager existence when I hate life as is? Post Apocalyptic land would just solidify my 'the world sucks' ideals and so I'd end things in a cool fashion.

I loled.

We could work as a team. You give them a quest to simply open this cupboard. I pop out, kill them, take their money, split it 50/50 and reset.

The hardest thing about the apocalypse will be pretending it's not the greatest thing ever.

The bastard that ruins everyone's fun.

Basically I'd go around the wasteland, searching for survivors, and then I'd kill them.

If that doesn't work out, then I shall be a sherrif.

I'd be the guy traveling the wastelands saving innocent folk from monsters and evil raiders etc. My identity shrouded in mystery

The token british sniper.
Tend to do good, often with close, reliable friends. Help clear the wasteland of criminals with shells to the head.

I'd either be canon foder to explain to mute clones that you shouldn't walk on those shiny things or get dragged through a vent or locked in a room to introduce the enemy...

or

...I would be the scape goat to a cunning cult leader who hides in the shadows and at the last episode..er...minute i'll reveal my plan, kill him and then rule with an iron fist, replacing my own scapegoats frequently

I'd be the lurking hermit who skulks about in the shadows, laughing softly to himself and mumbling snatches of poetry. Generally I'll just watch newcomers from the rooftops and if confronted speak only in riddles. Every night the nomads passing through my ruined city will hear my cackling echo through the streets.

I see myself as a Raider or scavenger to be honest, in a world like fallout's there are plenty of opportunities for 'adventurers'. Course its not as simple as in fallout, what with everything that moves trying to kill you.
