I got one. Careful, you might cry.

>Got a summer job in Taiwan
>Took a 14 hour flight
>Fast forward through weeks of socializing with the staff I was working with
>Get invited to a colleague's birthday party
>Meet a beautiful, charming woman (not the birthday girl)
>Spend hours talking (and mourning the death of Toonami)
>Head out to a club with birthday girl and company
>Let the others go on ahead and club away while beautiful girl and I stroll around Mall area.
>Confess attraction. Learn that the attraction is mutual.
>Kiss girl to the sound of a street performer playing romantic accordion songs.
>Head into the club.
>Dance with girl.
>Start making out with girl in the middle of the club.
>Taiwanese teenagers react with shock and awe (its a cultural thing.
>Embarrassment sets in.
>Trick Birthday girl into giving us her keys.
>Head back to Birthday girl's apartment.
>"Borrow" birthday girl's roommate's bed. (YEAH!)
>Spend weekend with girl. We act like we had been dating forever.
>Fast forward to now.

I'm back in America. She's in Japan right now. We had thought about a long distance relationship but she was too afraid (she has only had one other boyfriend).

That was the happiest three days of my entire life. I may never see her again.

Real life stories never have happy endings. I just happened to experience the tragedy of this encounter sooner than others will.

Umm...Ok.

> At university
> Friend I know from college and I kept running into each other at lunch
> One day, she asks if her friend can drop by, she had a bad break up.
> Become friends with the friend of friend.
> Next semester, have huge break that coincides with her break.
> Meet weekly for supper and random nerd talks for about a month. Realize we are so alike that it's scary.
> Start getting feelings for girl.
> Have girl over for supper, we have a good time.
> confirm I have feelings for her
> Ask first friend for advice, get confidence boost.
> Invite girl over to make cookies with me (hey, shut up, I might be a guy, but I can make DAMN GOOD COOKIES!)
> Manage to get courage to ask girl out
> :D Success! Turns out she wanted to ask me too, but was too shy.
> Share heart shaped cookie.
> (8 months of dating)
> Present time:

We're still doing great. No fights, no problems, and the only thing we REALLY disagree on is that I like melted cheese (on pizza, lasagna, etc), and she cannot stand the stuff. We're still at the innocent phase of the relationship, which is fine by me, I'm in no hurry to rush anything when I'm still enjoying this part. :p

And...that's pretty much it.

Well done! I know how it feels when something like that. And she sounds fantastic ^^

For me, it's something a bit more complicated, so I'll give the quick version:
> Me being me
> I be flirty naturally
> Girl in my P.A class is nice
> I talk to her
> I begin to suspect she likes me
> People tell me she likes me (She's great, but I wasn't into her)
> Girl I've liked for a while tells me she likes me
> She decides that she will persuade me to go out with first girl
> (She's shy, and only due to her not liking me, was she able to talk :3 )
> We talk on Facebook from 7:00/8:00 till FIVE IN THE MORNING
> Next night, same but till 3:00
> Next night, till 1:00
> We talk a lot on Facebook, I get her number so we can talk more (texting)
> -Time passes-
> We know a lot about each other, but not who we like
> She likes someone
> I get sad because I doubt it's me
> TURNS OUT IT'S ME! :D
> We keep it secret so as not to hurt first girl
> Her ***** friend tells first girl
> We deny it
> We admit it
> First girl is okay with it
> Happily ever after, and are now making plans for 4/5 years in advance! (This from a girl whose previous record was 2 months.)
> Me happy. So very very happy.
She says hello! ^-^
Oh that's nice! It could have gone so totally worse... Do you still talk with the first girl?

OT: I'm afraid I don't have anything to add. Kind of unfortunate.

Well, I was talking to this girl yesterday. Turns out she was fairly conservative. Led to an awkward silence, what with me being on the liberal side.

Success stories....

I'll get back to you on that.
Ooh, bad move. Never discuss religion or politics with someone you're interested in. It can never end well.
Trust me, it sure wasn't my idea. There's not much I loathe more than discussing politics.

And thus is the romance with linoleum bathroom floors.

I've got one :D

> Met a friend-of-a-friend in Holland, absolutely beautiful and charming and sweet
> She ends up sleeping in my bed, cuddling me. I have no idea how this happened and I am not going to question it.
> In the morning, we wake up before everyone else there and end up kissing, which leads to other things (that aren't sex)
> I fly home, thinking she'll have forgotten me and being pretty damn upset about it
> She hasn't. She feels the exact same way
> She's my girlfriend now, she's coming to stay at my house for a few days in October. It is going to be amazing.

Romance succes stories?

None of the sort. I'm socially shy and unconfident in myself so I generally sit in a corner and nurse my drinks. I need to talk to people before I can decide wether or not I like them in -any- way at all.

Then again, I did once meet a girl on the train..

>Go on vacation to Italy
>Take the train to Venice
>Come back from Venice
>Random girl sits across from me
>Start random conversation
>End up exchanging email adresses for pictures
>Apparently she lived relatively close to me
>Go to her every sunday
>At the fair (which was in town at that moment) decide to go into the haunted house with her.
>Be scared to death of haunted houses, but don't notice it because you were to busy sticking your tongue in her mouth, and vice versa.
>end up in a 2 month relationship.

Another moment was a 7 day hookup.
We had this introduction week for university and hordes of people were put into the local sports complex. Two girls decided to lie down near me, charming as I am I told them: "If I start snoring, just hit me on the head with a shoe and I'll probably stop."

Ended up with a girl drama in the end. I'm never sure when I'm beeing good at flirting or when I think I'm acting normal I appear to be ever so charming. Not that I would notice that about myself. Girls be enigma's. Sometimes they just drop out of the blue, and other moments I'm ignored to death. Oh well. Not that bothered by it anyway.

My seems like something out of a movie:
>9th grade...Make new friend from other middleschool (2 middle schools, 1 highschool in my town)
>Find out she is obsessed with anime and war, just like me (and pretty much everyone else im my "lunch group")
>Have a weird dream where she is my girlfriend. NOT weird in a sexual way. Basically, I was some sort of ninja/samurai expert with a cross-spear, dual M1911's, and the ability to minipulate the "force", And I am trying to stop this evil scientist from turning the world into zombies.??? seriously WTH???
>Tell her about it the next day. I SWEAR she was blushing.
>4 months later...valintines day...she walks up to me sitting alone, reading a book over the Veitnam War. She hands me a card. "I REALLY like you. Signed, you secret admirer." I look at her. "*blushing*Its not me. Som-someone else asked me to give it to you." *at lunch, her best friend* "So Kristian, did you give Keegan your note >=D" "*me* It was yours?" "*her*ye-yeah=("
"Oh, OK" (I facepalm over only saying THAT today)
>Near the end of school, I find out she is moving away. Still hasnt hit me yet.
>She move. "*Lightbulb*Wait, WHAT. SHE LIKED ME!?!?!?!"
>2 years later, after a near depression zone through 2 girls who didnt like me back...I find out she only lives 10 miles away...And her cousin is in my first hour. I ask for her phone number from him. He text his aunt and tells I am trying to get ahold of Kristian and he givers her my number
>Bus ride home...She calls ME before I call her (it was supposed to be the other way around) She STILL liked me after not hearing ANYTHING from me for 2 years. We Have our first date on the 3rd day of Spring Break
>Now, she talks about how we are the perfect couple, how we will be married someday soon, and how she is so happy I found her again.

>Meet a guy at school.
>Ends up kissing me and being my first.
>Date for eight months.
>Guy turns into controlling asshole, and abusive.
>Date another year.
>Gets me pregnant.
>Skips out, never to be heard from again.

That's the nicest one I have. Romance and success are mutually exclusive concepts.

Well, I have had some varying degrees of success in this department, but I don't think I could easily sum up everything in listed steps, which seems to be the thing to do here. Bummer, I guess.

Aww, that was cute. I don't have such stories because of my lack of initiative.

Ah. Well, then change that statement from "bad move" to "bad luck".

But really, would it really be so bad if your politics were a little different? I just can't see it being a complete dealbreaker.

Well...

>Meet guy who hangs out with one of my best mates, won't stop staring, freaks me out.
>Go to party with said mate, he's there.
>Get home, go sleep, mate texts, says he likes me.
>After a week of consideration I give into low self-esteem issues, go out with creep.
>have three months of slimy make-out sessions, awkward intimacy and thoughts of breaking-up.
>Break up.
>Be infinitely happy and more confident ;)

Not romantic but I'm better off for it and stories of fish tongues and grazed lips provide endless amusement and saves awkward conversations.
