What do you listen to when you feel a bit down or depressed? I listen to some calm stuff, like Depeche Mode or Muse.

I listen to Rhett and Link. They have the ability to cheer me up no matter what kind of situation I'm in.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, or Thurdsay, or Amanda Palmer. All are some of my favourite artists, and depending on what sort of mood it is, whether I am feeling masochistic enough to wallow or I want to get out of it, I will listen to my cheer up songs, or my emo songs from them.

MGS4 OST, Love Theme.

I can't fail when I hear it, it inspires me.

I usually go for really cheesy happy hardcore these days. Listening to depressing music when you're upset is not such a good idea.

I listen to all of my oldies when I'm down; Bright Eyes, Space Oddity, Nights in White Satin and Stand by Me are good ones.

Three songs mainly;
She's So High - Tal Bachman
Hallelujah - Rufus Wainwright
Wind - Akeboshi
They're awesome!

If I'm in a sad depressed mood, I love listening to Sigur Ros, it's so beautiful.

I also like Bright Eyes, Deathcab, and Sufjan Stevens. Some Velvet Underground can be really mellowing too.

If I'm sad frustrated, I listen to the Pixies.

Depressed usually equals angry for me, then I usually listen to someone wich fuels my inner aggression and courage (not that I want to beat someone up, but that I don't let someone walk over me). Last few months that means that I listen to Metallica (the good ol' stuff), the World of Goo soundtrack (especially Best of Times [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGcyE1yB73M], that song is a-ma-zing) and Streetlight Manifesto.
