Wake Up by KJ-52. I realize what genre this is, but it's still a great song. That and Daddy's girl, also by KJ-52.

When I'm sad and I want a little laugh and just let my mind wander into my head, Voltaire does the trick.
If you like Voltaire, When You're Evil, Bomb New Jersey and Day of the Dead are awesome. The former especially.
Though good songs, those fall behind compared to his other works, When You're Evil was the song that introduced me to Voltaire mind you.
Those songs don't pull me in as much as others. Almost Human, Ex-Lover's Lover, The Headless Waltz, songs like that draw me in without effort. The drama in his music is what I find so great about it, light tints of humour are only there to sweeten them.

Of course that's just me.

Heavy metal ballads. They help me realize not all hope is lost, and that I can still believe in my skillzz

Avenged Sevenfold if I want to be happy again, Three Days Grace or Nirvana if I want to stay sad... (in a good way I swear I love those bands!)

Mad World by Gary Jules and screamo (lately it's been All That Remains which is a REALLY good band-I think my search for good screamo is over). Mad World is a great one for make you feeling depressed, so it's a vicious cycle.

'Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls', by Mogwai. There is something cathartic about that song..

I don't feel too tip-top most of the time, so I guess most of my music counts as 'sad songs'

Some people go through puberty. Lain goes through metaphysical/metaphilisophical/existential breakdowns, each worse than the first. Tell me you don't feel sorry for her. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XfJwh2cC6o]

This is the song I listen to when I'm sad. It cheers me up with its PHENOMENAL awesomeness. Yes, I'm a Within Temptation fanboy. Mock me. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhzJO34SCoc&feature=fvst]

Future Soon by Jonathan Coulton has recently become my pick-me-up music. It's kinda sad, but has a good twist at the end.

I usually go for really cheesy happy hardcore these days. Listening to depressing music when you're upset is not such a good idea.
