For pure style's sake, I'd have to go with a rapier in one hand, nothing in the other. Not the most devastating weapon, but like I said, style. Of course you can't go wrong with a katana, either. Any weapon that requires finesse is pretty much my style.

...or a big ass greatsword. Because sometime's there's no such thing as overkill.

Gun to my head I'd go with the rapier, though. It really is more "me."

a nice enchanted longsword.
Gotta love the classics.

A longsword would be my choice as well. So obviously the coolest weapon. Doesn't have to be enchanted, but it HAS TO BE MADE OF SILVER. How else would I fight werewolves with it?

Wildly crazy - A functioning electric guitar shaped like an axe, that actually serves a viceral beheadingly purpose. Then I can single-handedly fend off a zombie apocalypse with both the blade itself and the earth-quaking vibrations resounding from the zombie guts splashing against the strings.

More practical, but still nuts - One of these brutal bastards on each hand

Most practical, more simple, still rooted in fantasy - Dual-wielding Scimitars. I read waaay too much Salvatore as a child.

Straight razor.. what can I say, it would be a fucked up game.

If we're talking old style medieval weapons though, I'd want a pike. Not the most glamorous weapon, but tell that to the guy being skewered from 5 meters away. Plus it would really screw up the game design principles.

"Bwahahaha.. I am the end boss and I have this awesome AOE attack I've spent months practicing. What I do is I swing in a wide arc and do massive damage to anything standing immediately in front of me! Dare you get close enough to att... oh shit, is that a fucking pike?"

Well I have been creating a module for nwn2 for some time now and I would probably use one of the weapons from that.

I would use either this scythe:

Or this sword:

Guts'(from Berserk) huge ass sword, that would be awesome as hell!

Or i'd pick a masamune katana as Sephiroth uses.... would create one hell of a radius.

If both those are unavailable, just give me a single katana.

A scythe. Nothing summons dread like something that reminds you of the Grim Reaper.
Ever read the Discworld book Mort? Great description of Scythe fighting.

A No-Dachi.

A really big Katana with and elongated handle. I'd have my hilt be a foot and a half long, and I'd hold it revered and behind me.

If not that then I'd use a short concealed blade that looked line a cane or something, or a set of knives with sharp wires attached, I'd throw the knives to fake people out and curve them to wrap the person up, then cut them to bits with one tug(Not sure if that even counts as a melee weapon).

A Kusarigama is also appealing(Google it)

Real weapon: My Beretta 90two. Well practiced with it and can make a bullseye on a moving target at 100 feet. Also have 20 and 25 round magazines for it. (Yes I know this is a melee weapon thread, but I own a gun so it is stupid not to use it)

Fantasy weapon: Mjolnir. No explanation necessary.

One of two choices:

a) A tanto (knife made in the same manner as a katana)

or

b) a teacup

Personally, i would take an Eviscerator. Two-handed chainsword? Awesome.
Two handed chainsword with a power field? MASSIVELY so.
