Twin flaming kunai on barbed wire.
For those who don't know what a kunai is, it looks like this:
funfact: kunai is little more than an glorified garden trowel

WAIT! I forgot the ultimate weapons.

*hands you an internets*
My day has been made, and it still is technically my night! :D

Back on topic though:
I'd have a Zweihander.
It makes the Buster Blade look like a child's toy, is only wielded by uber badasses, and is the only sword designed to combat spearmen and calvary...

A gunblade for me (as long it doesn't look just a gun with a blade attach to it).

Videogame melee weapons of choice:
Crowbar (duh)
Blackjack
Painkiller

General:
A long pike/spear (I like to poke things from a distance)
CHAINSAW
Katana
Knee-spikes
FLAMING SUPER-SPIKY MACE
Gloves with razor blades on each side (karate chops = very effective)

Unfortunately, all other weapons are beaten by the crowbar, thanks to Gordon Freeman.

Anything's possible answer: A sword where the handle is shaped like a dragon. It holds an emerald in its claw and it's mouth leads to the blade. The blade is made of fire.

Slightly more practical answer: I don't know what to call the or even if they exist, but some sort of bladed night-sticks. Basically, picture a police night stick. Instead of the main baton part, there's a blade that's long on one end and short on the other. Two of those, one for each hand.

Something I can actually use answer: A staff. Nothing overly complicated, just a long staff of wood (or a light but strong metal) that comes up to my shoulder. I can kick ass with that.

I'd take the red faction sledgehammer:

Why? Oh I don't know, something about being able to demolish both buildings and enemies in a series of sickening crunches appeals to me.

Otherwise, excalibat. A glowing baseball bat capable of hitting with great power and knocking enemies into the horizon, depending on how spiteful the user is feeling.

Or, yknow a chainsword would be nice.

Pure 100% bonified AWESOME!
I like you, Sir.

I'd pick a bokken (wooden samurai sword) as I have a lot of practice with one. I could also incipacitate enemies without outright killing them, which would mean no-one would really have an excuse to swear revenge on me or get me hauled off to jail, unlike if I had a true katana. There's also less chance of me accidentally decapitating myself. :p

Failing that, a pair of bladed sai/ tonfa. :)

Or ideally all three. XD
Why? Bladed tonfa are redundant, a single good hit to the head from a normal one is game over on an unarmoured opponent. Limbs that get hit will be broken.

A bladed sai might still work normally though by letting you catch blades and stuff.

this, Arnis or normal sai/ tonfa is what I would probably use.

No idea why you would need a certificate for imagination though.

It would be more awesome though if it could halt bullets.
