I'd decline. There's no way that could last me all my life. Not unless I was particularly stingy and I'm not gonna be.

There's the money for mom to pay off her house, to get a cars for her, my brother and myself, pay off my loans, learn how to drive by classes because I'd prefer it... and everything in between.

Honestly, what's the point of winning that much money if you can't add to it?

Id create a corporation and give the money to it to invest, as a corporation is under US law a person I would not be making any money I would then be its unpaid ceo living at its private mansion aka its corporate headquarters. I would then have it pay for my education so that it can then sell my services as an accountant to other companies so that even though much money may pass through my hands none of it is technically mine as its all company assets.

Assuming no inflation, I could live very comfortably on that for about 80 years.

...but one really can't assume no inflation, or the continued existence of a lottery organization, or any such things. I'd refuse on the grounds that I believe they're lying.

Tough question. I think the answer depends on if I could buy real property, then sell it later and (although forfeiting any proftis), keep the inflation-adjusted value that I paid. Basically, if I can shelter it from inflation, then yes. Otherwise...well, maybe. Probably. I mean, even with inflation, I could live pretty well for the next 40+ years on that sort of money, and if at the end of those forty good years the assassins want to come and kill me, well, c'est la vie.

Think of it this way: I might be losing the last 10-15 years of my life. But by pretty much everything I've seen, those years suck pretty badly anyway. And in exchange I get to spend an additional 40 or so hours a week doing whatever I want rather than working for wages. I'm pretty certain I'd come out ahead on that bargain.

3 million and never work again? Decline.

I can't explain why, but I feel life just wouldn't be as good if I took up the offer. If I could take it up and work, I'd do that.

Edit: I'd become a lazy bum and a waste of space, and at the same time; an investors wet dream - someone inexperienced with money with a lot of it to spare.
I'd rather not be that and a treasure my future perfectly well. I want to make the most of it and I know for a fact I wouldn't if I was rich and unemployed.
