Being too stubborn to switch weapons.

Really.

It's like "Yes I know you're in my face and I could take out my shotgun, but I'd rather just use my railgun... OH LOOK I MISSED AND HAVE TO WAIT LIKE 2 SECONDS FOR IT TO RELOAD. I DIE ^_^"

I'm always too preoccupied checking every corner I walk past, that I fail to notice the guy standing behind me with a large gun.

Playing Single Player like a play Multiplayer. ie. Running and jumping like a schizophrenic rabbit on ecstasy and firing from the hip. This doesn't usually go over that well with the NPCs that can blow off my head with the least accurate gun in the history of games from 3 kilometers away.

My worst habit is to just rush into a battle in multiplayer(mainly COD4) and getting f uped by some sniper or shotgun. or when sniping to try to snipe a guy that i see for only one second and thus letting all of my enemies where i am.

got to be the dreaded reloading after you kill an enemy even if your surrounded, that has got me killed too many times on call of duty

It never crosses my mind to use any sort of special weapons or tools I might have. In halo, there's no point in me picking up the bubble shield, because in the heat of battle I'll never think to use it. In left 4 dead, I'll go almost the whole map without using my pipebomb/molotov unless my teammates remind me. I am getting better, though. I'll remember to use a molotov when a tank comes around and I'll think to throw my pipebomb when a boomer vomits or when I trigger a car alarm, but other than that, I never think to use them.
I played through the Halo 3 campaign and I did not use a special item once. They seemed obscure and useless to me.

"The best defense is a good offense. Forget all conventional wisdom on being balanced; in RPGs, its all about doing as much damage in as short a time as possible."

Most of the time, that is the - stupid - stance I take in many, MANY RPGs. Sadly, it does not always do me very much good.

Also, lining up the perfect sniper shot - at the expense of the element of surprise, and my life. I really have to break that one...

I LeeROY!!! every game. Some day I will learn that the first time I play a game need not be an attempt at a speedrun.
Total opposite... I die so many times because I have stopped to admire the scenery.

COD WAW had such gorgeous looking multiplayer maps that I got easy-killed over and over as I gazed lovingly at the bright foliage and lighting bloom effects...

I had to stop when my team got mad though.

My main way of dying is being over ambitious.

Some times it gets me a 12 kill spree as a medic, but sometimes it gets me 3 pyros in the face as a spy.

What stupid habits can you never seem to break out of?

Personally I have three, all multiplayer related:

1. I get too eager to get to the action and run around corners, usually straight into a ninja with a P90 or a sniper bullet to the head.

2. Every time I get a kill I automatically, habitually hit reload (even if my clip is almost full) and THEN sprint away after the reload animation finishes.

3. Revenge-rushing on campers. Instant double-humiliation.
i suffer from every single one of these, pretty much to the letter. one other thing is I tend to crouch ALL the time, whether it is necessary or not, when i'm being shot at, not matter what the game. this usually causes problems in a game like tf2 where movement is crucial

The game I have the most stupid habits for is counter strike. I too suffer from reloading right after a kill even if it was a one hit head shot. Though what kills me the most is my crazy quick-switching habit. I always run around a corner mashing the quick-switch button, get caught in the middle of a switch and gunned down. Oh and in RPGs I always forget/too reluctant to use really good items like elixirs etc.

Pretty much that. I was played RE5 with a friend of mine and he kept getting mad at me cause I didn't look around the corners. He kept calling me suicidal.

I also don't pay attention to my ammo and usually don't reload until I am out of ammo. *sigh*
