I don't mind them but I buy my games new if I can, simply because I want to put some money in the developers pocket. They provide me with entertainment and I am willing to pay for that.

That said, I don't blame anyone for buying their games used. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with trying to find a good deal and let's face it, buying a game new is pretty damn expensive, so if that same game is available for like 20 dollars less then there really is nothing wrong with going for that deal.

On the other hand, I'm not too fond about the whole thing with developers not making a dime on games sold nearly at full price and I don't blame companies like EA for trying to add incentive for buying a new copy of a game.

it depends really on a number of factors however if I hate the game and it is a large file I would buy the Pre-owned PC game..I also do this if it has a rather tedious DRM as well.

I love them, most of the games I own are pre-owned, and have saved a lot of money rather than buying them new.

Hell, I got Future Perfect for $3 because of it.

I typically never buy used, but I do like being able to trade in my used games to reduce the cost of new games, so I'm glad there's a market for them out there. I'm more prone to finding sales than I am buying used.

I wouldn't buy pre-owned games if they took money from the developers. The developers get their money whether we buy their games or not because that's how it works. The publishers make their money by selling them to stores and the stores are the ones that lose money. But, I buy my pre-owned games from a store and I assume they give you store credit or reward points or something for turning them in so they get them free then sell them for pure profit. So, really, no one is losing out and you get a good game for a fiver.

I've only had one problem with any pre-owned games. Resident Evil on the Game Cube... the second disk wouldn't work...

I just think its hilarious people can be anti-piracy but pro used-games for profit.
I find hillarious people saying used market equals piracy.

I love pre owned stuff, the gameshop i always visit has the best stuff, for such low prices.
I managed to snag a lot of good PS2 games there.

Best one was a steelcase version of RE4 for just 7,99.
In perfect working order.

I like them, for pretty much the same reasons you do. Although, some weird things happen sometimes. I got Psychonauts used, and every once in a while, Raz's clothing inexplicably turns the same light blue color as the menu. But it's still good.

Yep, this old argument again. To be honest, what's to stop people from just trading stuff on craigslist if stores no longer carried used games? Companies fighting a war against used games are just greedy. Do auto makers try to prevent the sale of used cars?

They all have their little bugs, but if I get a game for £10 cheaper I'll turn light blue and still play it.

Always buying brand new games is too expensive for most people, including me. The pre-owned market makes buying games a lot easier. Plus eliminating the pre-owned market would mean games we'd finished would just clutter up the home.

Pre-owneds are a fracking godsend. I don't have the cash to buy new most of the time.

I have a policy where I refuse to pay full price for video games. I prefer to get new games, but if the pre-owned ones are cheapest, well, there you go.

How does it not?

If I download a game, and sent $60 to thepiratebay, would that suddenly make it okay?
To start there isn't an illegal copy of the game involved.

This.

I like the idea of pre-owned games, but as a PC gamer, I'm forced to look for Steam deals.
