Your thought on all this Doomsday rubbish

So....while i sat waiting for the bus, i sat thinking about all this doomsday rubbish. As you know the world is meant to end in 2012, but wait! its now meant to end in 2011.

"Judgment Day!
May 21, 2011" - So yeah God shall be bringing this one, but wait! the person that said the world will end in 2011 also said the world was going to end in 6-6-06....sigh

You should all know about 2012 by now.

But anyways my question is, whats your take on doomsday, do you believe any of them will happen? do you believe something totally different? and how do you see the people that believe in it all. Do you try to reason with them? or just want to slap them silly?

Yeah for some reason, its slightly worrying. Its meant to start in May then end for good in Oct.

i guess we just have to sit and wait and see, when it doesn't happen...we can laugh at them all (Y)

Oh the end of the world is coming! Just, you know, in around 2-5 billion years when Sol becomes a red giant, and either we get incinerated or pushed out of orbit and freeze, either way it's safe to say by that point our planet will be uninhabitable.


As for the 2012 stuff, it annoys me because it's based on ingorance. The one that really is pissing me off though are these fundamentalists that are going around saying the end of the world will happen this year, may 21st. It's pissing me off because they are going all round the world advertising this crap, and you just know vulnerable people will end up getting hurt by it.

As far as most religion related doomsdays go it's been the "end of times" for how many thousands of years now? pfft..

Exactly! ahhhg it drives me mad! Though people just seem to like to belive any old junk, without fact checking. If only I were not burdened with a conscience, i'd maybe be one of those exploiting such people an getting rich.

See, I can pull bullshit dates out of my ass too.
So yeah... Your title pretty much sums up what I think.
The world will end some day, naturally. Nothing lasts forever, but setting a date for it is impossible.
Though to be fair, if the world really does end in May I don't have to worry about finding something to do this summer.
