I think that if the people flogging the "we're all doomed" message are proven wrong on the 22nd of May, then they should all be fined for false advertising. I think double whatever they spent on the ads should suffice for a fine.

if 2013 comes, the movie "2012" would change genre from action to comedey
ot: well what can we really do if doomsday comes? i'm a christian and i believe in the second coming of christ. i believe that if humanity were really to cease to exist, we can only look back at our previous achievements and celebrate, while mourning for all that could have been

What makes me sad with all this tho, is the fact people have taken their own lives because of it, i know one lad in my class is now saying he wont be going to uni, just coz he believes in the world ending in 2012, say what you want about that but it is rather sad.

I myself don't believe it will end, just because i have done the research into it all.Thats what some people need to do, but never will do.

I call bullshit, there have been many examples of the end of the world all of them were proven false. How nothing happened.

1533, 1844, 1914, 1969, 1988, 1993, 1997, 2000 (I'm sure were all familar with this one.) 2008, 2009, 2010 and now we have 2011/2012. Sigh we'll be fine.

Then again if the world does end in May, I will be pissed off. I have the Qcon anime convention in Belfast to go to, I didn't spend months saving my money and planning a cosplay, just to have it ruined by the fucking apocalypse.

Wasn't it meant to end in 2009 and 2010?

Are some people getting humanity ending and the world ending mixed up?

I believe there is only one way for the world to end and that is when the sun goes super nova.
For humanity ending there is that, arguably a nuclear war or a meteor striking. None of those inconveniences can be calculated exactly at this point.

I was just after checking google and your are correct, the world was meant to end in 2009/2010.

I'll just go and add those years to my examples then.

This is the first one I've heard with a timeframe, usually it's world will end on a specified date and no other will do. This particular doomsday has a handy 5 month margin of error, making it the most plausible doomsday based on nothing but speculation and convenient personal reasoning revolving around purposefully selected data from personally preferred sources interpreted to suit the ideal of a meaningful end of the world scenario yet!

May through October I'll be preparing to move into my new place for University.

Does she even realise this would mean no Skyrim? Does she have no compassion?!

I find it deeply disturbing how she is laughing about the 'grim' news she is meant to be 'delivering' to the public. "Also its better to know when the world is going to end"? "At least you'll be safe"? I think she is friggening bonkers. Not nearly in the same category as that woman who made the youtube video about the Tsunami in Japan being god's wrath but is in the same catergory as that cult that killed themselves in an attempt to survive damnation from 'doomsday' by 'getting' their souls to 'hitch' a ride on a passing comet/asteroid.

Personally, I'm waiting till 2012 when society is going to cause the biggest fuck up in history due to a scare caused by the end of the Mayan calender. Yes a large number of people that fear the potential end of the world doing everything/the one thing they ever wanted to do before they die the day before is certainly going to have some major negative effects. I'm just keeping my eye out for the person who wanted to launch a nuke before they die.

what a lot of people don't know is that apocalypse means change or something similar, if something will happen in 2012 than I think it's not something bad but rather something good.
